Chapter 10

"Much improved." Nyssa said as she and Thea sparred as she did her best to prepare Thea for her battle with Ra's.

"My training from the old universe is still in my mind, I just need to get my body back into the condition to use it. Plus, in addition to archery, I did a little fencing when I was growing up." Thea said.

"Well, I'd say that your skills are nearly what they were when you fought Talia." Nyssa said.

"Speaking of which, any luck tracking her down. I'd like to avoid her sending Prometheus my way." Thea said.

"As Oliver can attest, she doesn't like staying in one place for long and I can't exactly look for her without giving my location up to my father." Nyssa said as Thea got an idea.

"I might know of a way we can at least buy ourselves some time to find Talia." Thea said.

"I'm listening." Nyssa said.

"I wonder how Ra's would react if he found out about the Thanatos Guild." Thea said and Nyssa grinned.

"My father would be furious and while he might not consider our debt paid, it might give us a stay of execution." Nyssa said.

"Though that might also point him in Ollie's direction and we promised him we wouldn't make Ra's his problem." Thea said.

"We may not have a choice. From what I know, in this reality, both Oliver and Laurel were trained by Talia, which means that there is a chance that my father already knows of their skills. He may already have his eyes on them. Especially if Oliver is able to kill Malcolm and yes I know that's a when, not an if. Your brother is probably the most skilled warrior on the planet. I know of very few people who could defeat him, even those who possess powers not of this world." Nyssa said and Thea nodded.

"Oliver's skills are his powers. And they've kept him alive. There's a reason why everyone looks to him to lead. Even me. I'm still not sure I'll be able to be the leader he was." Thea said.

"If I may be blunt, you'll never be the leader your brother is simply because you're not him. Take it from a woman who spent her life trying to be like her father, it doesn't work. It was only after I left the League that I realized that my mistake was trying to be like him instead of being myself. You must learn to become confident in your own abilities, become your own kind of leader, not the kind of leader Oliver is." Nyssa said and Thea nodded and smiled at her.

"I've really missed you Nyssa. Having these kinds of talks with Talia just wasn't the same." Thea said and Nyssa smiled.

"I suppose in a way, we have become sisters, since we are both daughters of the demon, just different demons." Nyssa said.

"Not sure which of them was worse." Thea said and Nyssa nodded in agreement, since they were both in agreement that their fathers were terrible. Well, their birth fathers. From what Nyssa had heard, despite his flaws, Robert Queen had been a good father. At least to Oliver and Thea, it sounded like he'd created another mess for his children or rather his son, to clean up with his other daughter Emiko.

"Yet we both turned out alright. You more so than me." Nyssa said.

"Considering your childhood, you turned out alright. Much better than your sister." Thea said.

"Speaking of sisters, have you considered reaching out to yours?" Nyssa said and Thea sighed, since honestly, she'd been thinking about Emiko a lot lately. Honestly, Thea wished that she'd gotten the chance to meet her, since she'd always wanted a sister, whether she was older or younger, she'd wanted a sister and she would've loved it if her parents had allowed Emiko to live with them and honestly, she found it very hypocritical of her mother to reject Emiko because she was illegitimate when she was living proof of her mother's own infidelity.

"Believe me, I want to, but I'm not sure how she'd react to me, not to mention, I don't even know how to reach her." Thea said and Nyssa nodded.

"Once this drama with my father is over, I will see if I can reach out to any old League contacts who might have information on the Ninth Circle. Especially since once the League I will be taking a leave of absence." Nyssa said.

"Why?" Thea asked.

"Because in this world, there are currently 4 lazarus pits in existence. They need to be destroyed before anyone else can use them." Nyssa said.

"On that we agree. Doesn't mean you have to be the one to destroy them. At least not alone." Thea said.

"You have your own obligations here. As a student and as this city's protector. It needs you." Nyssa reminded her.

"I feel like we have gotten incredibly off topic." Thea said and Nyssa nodded in agreement with a chuckle as the two resumed sparring.
