Chapter 30

When Thea returned to San Francisco, she called a team meeting at Titan Tower to let the team know how her trip had gone and to let Roy know that Laurel was pregnant and both of them being at the birth was non optional.

However, she was surprised to find out that while she'd been gone, Dick and Kory had taken in a stray. A girl named Rachel Roth who seemed to have demon-like powers and who was Zara's girlfriend, though while she was surprised by it, that didn't mean she didn't like it, since she agreed that the Titans was probably the safest place for Rachel to be and that they could find a way to help her. But since this meeting was team members only, Thea had asked Zara to take Rachel out to a movie or something so they could talk business.

And Thea also had to admit, the renovations to the tower looked much better than it did before, since now it felt more like a real headquarters.

"So, how was your trip?" Donna asked Thea as they all sat down at their meeting table.

"I got the first piece of the stone and also completed my final Amazon trials while I was there." Thea said.

"So where is it?" Dick asked.

"I gave it to Diana for safe keeping, since I don't want to risk keeping the stone here in any way until we've recovered the other two pieces and I don't want any of us to be tempted by it to let Ares know about it. Have you had any luck tracking him down?" Thea asked.

"No, he's been laying low. Being extra cautious to avoid detection." Donna said.

"We'll keep looking for him though. And also look for clues about where Rachel's powers came from." Dick said.

"Good. I feel like her powers will be important in the fight that's coming, I just don't know why yet and the only way to find out is to understand her powers." Thea said.

"Her powers seem familiar to me, I just can't place it. But it's like she's my polar opposite. The darkness to my light." Kory said and Thea nodded.

"That is possible and there could always be a connection. But let's get back to our primary focus." Thea said.

"Which piece of the stone is next?" Roy asked.

"With the Zeus stone secure, our next objective is the Poseidon stone and that one will be harder to acquire, since while it was entrusted to the Atlanteans, I highly doubt Orm knows it exists." Thea said.

"Trust me, if he did, he'd be tearing the world apart searching for all three pieces of a weapon that would allow him to wipe out the surface world without needing to gain allegiance from the other kingdoms." Garth said.

"Yeah, that's one nightmare we don't need. I wish Arthur would dethrone him already." Thea said.

"You and me both. It's been years since I've been home and now I want to show Zara Atlantis, since it's part of her heritage, but I can't as long as Orm is on the throne." Garth said, since he truly did miss his home, but as long as Orm ruled, he had to remain in exile.

"Arthur will come to his senses sooner or later, since Orm will eventually attack and force Arthur's hand." Thea said.

"Yeah, but I have an idea about where we can at least start to look for the Poseidon stone, since while Atlantis never knew it was real, it was known to be a legend and I can think of someone who's spent his life searching for lost legendary Atlantean artifacts." Garth said.

"Vulko." Thea realized and Garth nodded.

"If anyone has any idea about where to at least start looking for the stone, it's him." Garth said.

"Make contact with him and see if he knows anything." Thea said.

"Will do." Garth said in agreement.

Vulko had been quick to respond to Garth's transmission and had actually agreed to come to the surface to discuss it, since he didn't want to risk the transmission being tracked or intercepted by anyone above or below the sea, plus, he wanted to meet Garth's daughter Zara, so while Garth had gone to the bay to pick Vulko up, Donna had brought Zara to the Tower so she could meet her father's teacher.

When Garth entered the Tower, he brought Vulko with him, who had changed from his usual Atlantean attire into more surface appropriate clothing.

"Vulko." Thea said, greeting him politely.

"Ms. Queen, it's good to see you again." Vulko said.

"And you too. Thank you for coming all this way." Thea said.

"For Garth to risk contacting me, I knew it must be important, since the only reason Atlantis hasn't come after him for treason is because they think he's dead." Vulko said.

"It's nice to meet you, Vulko. Garth has spoken very highly of you." Donna said and Vulko turned to face her.

"And you must be the Amazonion who's stolen Garth's heart." Vulko said with a smile.

"I'm glad that you don't hold the old prejudice against me." Donna said and Vulko smiled.

"In my opinion, it's best to leave that old grudge behind, since all people are stronger as one. Speaking of which." Vulko said, turning his attention to Zara.

"You must be Zara. The first child born of both Amazon and Atlantean blood and who knows, you could be the bridge that brings our two worlds together, just as I believe that Arthur is meant to be the one to bring the land and the sea together someday." Vulko said with a smile.

"No pressure or anything." Zara said.

"Anyways, let's get back on topic. What do you know about the Poseidon stone?" Thea asked.

"The Poseidon stone? It's real?" Vulko asked in shock.

"It is and it's one third of a much more powerful stone." Thea said.

"The Kronos stone. I'm assuming you've already recovered the Zeus stone then, since you know the pieces have to be found in a certain order." Vulko said.

"We have and I've entrusted it to someone else for safekeeping until we have all three. Do you have any ideas on where the stone is?" Thea asked.

"Thanks to my studies into the whereabouts of Atlan's trident, yes, since the stone was entrusted to Atlan by Poseidon himself and it vanished with him and the trident." Vulko said.

"So the stone is with the trident." Thea said, thinking that could take care of more than one problem.

"Yes, but the trident is lost." Vulko said.

"I can find it, but retrieving it is another matter entirely." Thea said.

"How can you find the lost trident of Atlan?" Garth asked, since his people had been searching for the trident with no luck for centuries.

"Thanks to Artemis. The trident isn't just an Atlantean artifact, it's an Olympian artifact, which means I can track it that way and open a portal to its location. But that doesn't mean I can retrieve the trident or the stone. There's likely only one person who can and it won't be easy to convince him to do it." Thea said.

"Who?" Roy asked.

"The true king of Atlantis who wants nothing to do with it. Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman." Thea said.
