Chapter 5

This chapter will serve as kind of an intro chapter to Artemis, which will begin after Thea's trip to Star City and I did this really just to spare myself of the headache of trying to match up the timelines.

Thea Queen was currently on her way back to her apartment in Ivy Town, since her mother paid a lot of money to allow her to not have to live in a dorm room while she was in school and it was actually a pretty nice loft. Anyways, she'd actually just finished getting things sorted out with her teachers for her to go home to Star City for a few days, since her mother had made it very clear that this was the one time she was allowed to cut class, since if Thea missed her brother's homecoming, she would be cut off, though in Thea's opinion, the threat was unnecessary, since there was nothing more important to her than being able to see her big brother again

Anyways, as she walked from her car to her apartment building, she heard someone call her name.

"Thea Queen?" a dark-skinned man asked as she approached her.

"Who wants to know?" Thea asked as she reached into her purse and placed her hand on the can of pepper spray she kept in it at all times, since while she knew how to use a gun, she hated hurting people like that, even if they wanted to hurt her first.

"A friend of your brother's." the man said as his eyes glowed red .

"Yeah, I'm pretty sure I know all of Ollie's friends and none of them have eyes like that." Thea said as she prepared to make a break for it to call the cops, but before she could, the man moved impossible fast and was suddenly right in front of her.

"It will all make sense in a moment." the man said and before Thea could even scream out, the man placed his hand to her temple and his eyes glowed red again and suddenly, Thea felt a killer headache as her mind tried to process all the new information going through it. Information like her brother being a hero and her eventually joining him in his mission and a certain man in red that she'd need to kill when she got back to Star City.

"So, do you remember now?" the man asked.

"I remember everything from the old world, but I still don't know who you are besides the fact that you're clearly one of Oliver's friends." Thea said and the man nodded.

"My name is J'onn J'onzz. I'm a friend of Supergirl's and also a member of her team. I was one of the only people who survived the destruction of the old universe due to being a paragon and then after we helped your brother restore the universe, I began going from city to city restoring the memories of our allies." J'onn said.

"Who's memories have you restored so far?" Thea asked.

"In terms of your team, that would be you, Laurel Lance, John Diggle, Felicity Smoak, Rene Ramirez and Roy Harper." J'onn said.

"Good. Because now he'll know why I'm killing him when I get to Star City." Thea said and J'onn chuckled.

"And now I'm trying to figure out why he insisted that I restore your memories." J'onn said and Thea chuckled.

"I guess I'll find out soon enough." Thea said with a chuckle, though now that she remembered the badass she used to be, she was beginning to think of the different ways she could do for Ivy Town that Oliver did for Star City, since while Ivy Town's crime problem was nowhere near Star City, it did still exist and now Thea was going to do something about it. But first, she needed to get back to Star City to beat up and then recruit an idiot to help her.

Malcolm Merlyn was currently in his office at Merlyn Global Group going over some files for his next meeting, which he was honestly dreading, but he was pulled from his work when his son walked into his office.

"I'm surprised to see you looking so calm." Tommy said.

"Why wouldn't I be." Malcolm asked him, even though he already knew what Tommy was talking about.

"Oliver and Laurel being alive. I mean don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that my oldest friends are still alive, they could end up posing a threat to everything you've built." Tommy said and Malcolm smiled.

"You're assuming too much. Before we fly off the handle, we need to know exactly what they know. Otherwise we could end up jeopardizing our operation for nothing." Malcolm said and Tommy calmed down, since that did make sense.

"I guess that makes sense, sorry it's just, we're so close and now." Tommy said and Malcolm just shook his head.

"Don't apologize, I completely understand, since it shows how committed you are to this, which is good, because I want you to be at my side as we finally begin our plans to turn Star City into what its people deserve. But for now, take tomorrow off so that you can attend Oliver and Laurel's homecoming. You need to keep up appearances." Malcolm said and Tommy nodded as he headed off.

"I see the mental conditioning has held up." Athena said as she entered Malcolm's office.

"The League's techniques are full proof. They may be old school, but sometimes, the old ways are the best." Malcolm said and Athena nodded.
