Chapter 2

While Oliver was unconscious, his mind was still able to process all the memories from his counterpart that Novu had given him and Oliver had to admit, he was a much bigger fan of the person he'd been before Lian Yu. In this reality, he'd been a much more faithful boyfriend to Laurel, since he'd never cheated on her, especially not with her sister and it turns out that in this reality, instead of just being a party boy who never took anything seriously, after he'd graduated from high school, Oliver had joined the military. The reason he'd done so was to earn Quentin's respect, because he knew that Laurel's father still hated him and disapproved of his relationship with Laurel, but he was hoping joining the military would finally get Quentin to respect him and it had.

Joining the military had had another bonus, since it had allowed Oliver to meet John a lot earlier on, since they'd been a part of the same unit, though John had been Oliver's commanding officer, something Oliver was sure Dig would never let him live down, if he remembered the old world and Oliver hoped he would, though the roles would be reversed, since Oliver would make it very clear that when it came to Team Arrow, he was in command and that was final. Anyways, Oliver now remembered another change in this reality that changed everything.

In this universe, the whole reason Oliver had been on the Gambit was because he wanted a nice trip with Laurel to celebrate his return home after his first tour in Afghanistan and his father had invited them to join him on the Queen's Gambit for his trip to China and not only had Oliver accepted, but Laurel had too, which meant that she was the Lance sister he'd been stranded on Lian Yu with, much to his displeasure, since honestly, Laurel had been the best of Team Arrow. Her past was the brightest out of all of them and now her past was like his.

Aside from Laurel being there, the first two years of his time on Lian Yu had been about the same, since Sara had still found her way to them, since in this reality, she'd been abducted by Ivo from the cruise ship she'd been on while she was grieving the death of her sister and then they'd been separated again trying to stop Slade.

However, year three in Hong Kong, that been the year where things had really started to change, since while they had been in Hong Kong, they'd discovered that Laurel was pregnant. Suffice it to say, Amanda Waller had died shortly after they'd made that discovery, since Maseo had been quick to warn him that if Waller found out that Oliver was going to be a father, she would not hesitate to use the child as leverage, just like she was using Maseo's family as leverage. No one was really upset that Waller was dead, since honestly, she was nothing but trouble and the world was better off without her.

Anyways, Laurel's pregnancy had ended with her giving birth to a baby girl, Jasmine Shado Queen, who Oliver knew would be spoiled senseless by her grandma Moira and her aunt Thea as soon as they got home, though Oliver did feel guilty that while in addition to putting Laurel through all this, he'd also brought an innocent child into this world.

However, before he could even finish his little trip down memory lane, Oliver felt himself begin to wake up.

The first thing Oliver realized when he woke up was that he was not on Lian Yu, but in a hospital bed.

"Where am I?" Oliver asked.

"We're in a hospital in Hong Kong. Don't you remember Ollie? We were brought here for medical attention after those fishermen found us on Lian Yu." A familiar voice said as Oliver turned to see Laurel Lance standing at his bedside, though he was surprised when he couldn't sit up.

"What's going on?" Oliver asked as he realized he was restrained.

"Yeah, apparently you threw quite a fit when they tried to sedate you to run some tests and they had to restrain you to the bed to keep you still long enough to administer the sedative." Laurel said dryly.

"Well can you get someone in here to remove my restraints?" Oliver asked.

"Why did the big, bad Green Arrow forget how to escape them?" Laurel asked as they both realized what she'd said.

"Wait, did you just call me the Green Arrow?" Oliver asked as he decided to bypass pretending he didn't know how to escape the restraints and quickly let himself out.

"Well aren't you? At least you were the last time I saw you, though our roles were reversed then, since I was the one in the hospital bed." Laurel said.

"Laurel." Oliver said as he realized that he was talking to Laurel.

"Yeah, you have some interesting friends Ollie. Including a guy with glowing red eyes who reminded me of the way things were by just tapping my forehead." Laurel said as she helped him up.

"Yeah, you missed a lot. That guy, J'onn, is a lot more than he appears to be and I promise I will explain more when we're not someplace with a bunch of prying eyes." Oliver said and Laurel nodded.

"Well, now that we both know that we remember the old world, I think we need to talk about Jasmine, since I get it if you don't want to." Laurel began, only to be cut off by Oliver kissing her.

"The only reason I moved on was because you told me we could never be together because of Tommy. Never said I stopped loving you." Oliver said and Laurel smiled.

"So I take it that means that we're not going to have to tell our daughter that we're splitting up?" Laurel asked.

"Not unless you want too." Oliver said and Laurel smiled.

"I don't and you'll likely never hear me say this to you again, but I was wrong when I said we couldn't be together, especially since I never really did have any luck finding someone else. I shouldn't have used Tommy's death as an excuse to keep us apart. He wanted me to be happy, even if it wasn't with him." Laurel said.

"Well, now he's alive, so we won't need to worry about that." Oliver said and Laurel nodded in agreement.

"So, how bad do you think our parents are going to be when they find out they're grandparents?" Laurel asked.

"I think we're going to have to be very clear that Jasmine is not used to other people getting all up in her face and that they were not going to make her feel uncomfortable. I feel bad enough that she and you got caught up in all this." Oliver said.

"I made a choice to go with you on the Gambit Ollie and honestly, maybe if I'd made that same choice again in the old reality, things would've gone differently, since honestly, now I have a better understanding of why you do things the way you do. The choices you make. Everything I judged you for, I now have a better understanding of why you made those calls." Laurel said.

"Still, can we both agree that Jasmine will not be getting anymore involved in this world than she already is?" Oliver asked and Laurel nodded.

"At least until she's 18 and then it's out of our hands. But we're not gonna lie to her about what we do as vigilantes, since she already knows about that." Laurel said.

"I know." Oliver agreed as they continued talking.
