Chapter 15

The next day found Oliver overseeing the construction of what he hoped would be the first of many community centers that he would set up in Star City and maybe even beyond that to help reduce crime rates in the city, and the first community center he was opening was located in what had been Verdant in the old reality, just without a vigilante base in the basement, since that was already covered in the bunker beneath his house.

Anyways, Oliver was in his office, going over some plans to expand the building to be able to fit things like a basketball court and other things like that, which was why he'd also bought the surrounding area just so that he could be sure that he had enough land to turn this place in a proper community center, when his phone rang and he smiled when he saw who it was.

"Hey Speedy, how's college?" Oliver asked his little sister.

"It's fine when you actually stay at the same school for more than one year, but that's not why I'm calling." Thea said and Oliver could tell by the tone of her voice that this was about the other side of their line of work.

"What's going on?" Oliver asked.

"You need to kill Malcolm now." Thea said.

"Okay, while I agree with the sentiment, what's with the urgency?" Oliver asked.

"Because last night Roy and I were attacked by Prometheus and while I kicked his ass, imagine my surprise when I removed the mask and instead of finding Adrian Chase." Thea said and Oliver had a feeling he knew where this was going and he didn't like it.

"Please don't say the name I think you're about to say." Oliver said.

"It's Tommy. From what I can tell, after we thought you and Laurel died, Malcolm brainwashed his own son and made him into something like him. He attacked us when we were sneaking into Merlyn Global's Ivy Town office for proof of the Undertaking and he jumped us and got the drop on Roy. I barely managed to beat him." Thea said.

"Where is he now?" Oliver asked.

"I have him locked up in the holding cell of my base of operations with both Nyssa and Roy standing guard on him. I'm not taking any chances, but I know that my brother is still in there, since I talked to mom about it before you got home and she confirmed that Malcolm is still my birth father, not that I'd ever call him that. My father was Robert Queen, he always was and I'll never forgive myself for choosing Malcolm over him. But in the meantime, do you know by any chance know anyone who might be able to help him? I kind of want to save J'onn as a last resort, since I think we can both agree that we don't want to run the risk of him remembering the old world, since honestly, he'll be dealing with enough when he comes out of the trance without dealing with the fact that he died in a reality." Thea said.

"Good call. I'm gonna call Constantine, if he can get Sara's soul back, I'm sure he'll know a way to undo Malcolm's programming. But why were you breaking into Merlyn Global anyways?" Oliver asked.

"Because I need to get Ra's out of my city and if I can't kill him, might as well offer up a different target to him. One that I think would be a much higher priority for him." Thea said.

"Or you could just call me. I've killed the bastard before, I'll do it again and I'm coming to Ivy Town to bring Tommy back, so I'll just take care of him and before you say anything about me fighting your battles for you, I know that you can handle yourself against him Thea, I always have, but there is a difference between me fighting your battles and you fighting mine and Ra's is my battle. I'm the only one who's ever beaten him in combat before. Besides, it's personal." Oliver said.

"He hasn't killed me yet, Ollie." Thea said.

"And he'll never get the chance too. Thea, Ra's is my mess and I'm the one who brought him into our lives in the first place. Besides, something tells me that Ra's will be far more interested in me than you and we also know that he'll take me more seriously." Oliver said, since in addition to his many other faults, Ra's al Ghul was known for being sexist.

"Okay, fine. Honestly, I was trying to keep that threat off your plate." Thea said.

"Remember, it's my job to protect you as your big brother. Not the other way around. I'll be there soon." Oliver said.

"Agree to disagree on that protection point, but I'll see you soon." Thea said as she hung up and Oliver did the same before taking a deep breath and dialing another number, though he wasn't sure where the hell the person it connected to was, especially if said person was in hell.

Luckily, he picked up.

"Oliver, well, it's been a dog's age mate." John Constantine said when he picked up.

"More than John. Remember that favor you owe me for saving your life on Lian Yu." Oliver asked, grateful for their decision not to restore John's memories, since right now, he believed he still owed Oliver a debt and Oliver was going to take advantage of that.

"I would hardly expect you to let me forget that one mate. What can I do for you?" Constantine asked.

"How soon can you meet me in Ivy Town. It's time for you to make good on that debt." Oliver said.

"I can be there by this time tomorrow. Mind telling me what's going on?" Constantine asked.

"Need your help removing league of assassins style mind control." Oliver said.

"Gotcha, sounds simple enough. I'll need to see it firsthand to know exactly what we're dealing with, but that should be easy enough for me to handle." Constantine said.

"Sounds good. See you then." Oliver said as he hung up, knowing that Laurel would want to hear about this and he knew she'd want to come with them.

"Let me know as soon as we're leaving. I need to be there to see this for myself." Laurel said to Oliver before hanging up and turning her attention back to her daughter, since today was a Saturday, which meant that Jasmine was off from school and she was having a mother daughter day, mainly because she was still working on getting her own law firm, which she'd decided to call CNRI in honor of the original one that had given her her shot to make a real difference in this community, up and running, since while she'd gotten her law license back, she'd had a hard time finding both donors and clients, though luckily Queen Consolidated was helping on the donors part.

Anyways, Laurel was watching her daughter play when she heard someone walk up behind her, concerning her immediately, wondering how the hell this intruder could've possibly bypassed all the security systems they'd put in place on the ranch without them knowing, so she reached for her back pocket, where she always kept her hand on a gun before whirling around, only to stop short at the person on the other side of her gun.

"Guess I should've called first." Sara said to her big sister and neither of them were sure who was happier to see the other as Laurel lowered her weapon.

"Sara." Laurel said and without another being spoken between them, the two sisters ran towards each other and hugged each other tightly, happy to finally be reunited again.
