Chapter 14

"So, in this reality, your dad, who was not arrested for your mom's murder, is also a speedster and he was the Flash before you and since your dad wasn't arrested, he got remarried and gave you a little sister?" Oliver asked, essentially summing up everything Barry had told him.

"Yep. And you apparently served in the legitimate military before you became a hitman." Barry said and Oliver chuckled.

"Fair point. How does it feel to be a member of the older brother club?" Oliver asked.

"Like I will be putting my hand through the heart of any guy who makes Chloe cry." Barry said.

"A big brother after my own heart. I've lost track of how many times I've threatened Roy with different weapons and I actually like him as Thea's boyfriend." Oliver said with a chuckle.

"I'm just curious, what would you do if Thea was dating a guy you didn't like?" Barry asked, even though he already knew.

"I'd use him for target practice." Oliver said casually.

"Well, at least none of your enemies remember the old reality." Barry said.

"Wait, what?" Oliver asked.

"Somehow Thawne remembers the old reality. The only consolation is that now I'm more than fast enough to deal with him." Barry said.

"Barry, you're forgetting that no one understands how much you hate that man more than me, since I literally was you." Oliver said.

"And you know that I'd never stoop to his level, no matter how much I hate him." Barry said.

"And that is what makes you an even better hero than I ever could be." Oliver said.

"I wouldn't be a hero without you. I can't imagine what my life would've been like if I hadn't taken that train to Star City." Barry said.

"You still would've been a hero. But you helped me become a much better man." Oliver said.

"What are you gonna do about Malcolm Merlyn?" Barry asked.

"What I should've done so many times before. I'm gonna kill him and make sure he stays dead. Otherwise he'll just keep causing more and more problems. Hell, the only reason the League came to Star City was because of him and even though Thea now knows better than to trust Malcolm, I need to put him down once and for all." Oliver said and Barry nodded.

"Anyways, on a different topic, I think we should start keeping a closer eye on Blue Valley." Barry said.

"Really, why?" Oliver asked as Barry told him about the new JSA that was forming there.

"Yeah, we should definitely keep tabs on that. Teenage superheroes, I'm not sure if that's a good idea, since until now, literally every hero we've ever known has at least finished high school, but maybe it won't be a bad idea and maybe we, along with the other heroes of this world can help mentor them." Oliver said and Barry nodded.

"And honestly, it does give me an idea. Something I've been thinking about since we all woke up in this new reality." Barry said.

"About what?" Oliver asked.

"We had a real close call with Crisis and honestly, these kinds of events are becoming more and more common. Fights that are too big for one hero or even our individual teams to handle." Barry said.

"Where are you going with this Barry?" Oliver asked.

"I think that we need to start working on putting together a much larger team. One that doesn't just focus on one city, but a team that's meant to protect the entire world. Made up of the greatest heroes this world has." Barry said and Oliver nodded.

"I mean, we already come together on a yearly basis for crossovers anyways, might as well make an official team to prepare for this, but this isn't a conversation for just us to be having right?" Oliver asked.

"I know. I'm thinking we should also loop in Kara, Sara, Kate and J'onn, since they're all paragons and we should also read in Clark and Jefferson, since we can't do this without Superman and Jefferson has been a hero longer than any of us." Barry said and Oliver nodded.

"Have you also thought about how much this would cost, since this is a huge operation you're talking about, it's more than any of us can afford alone." Oliver pointed out.

"I know, but one of the perks of multiple heroes and hero teams is multiple bank accounts. Of the top of my head, I think that between Smoak Technologies, Mercury Labs and Wayne Enterprises, we should be good to at least start off with and I'm sure that Kara will have suggestions as well." Barry said and Oliver smiled.

"I think we're really onto something here Barry. I just have one more question for you for right now. What are we going to call this team?" Oliver asked.

"I figured we'd leave that to Cisco, since he's the expert on that sort of thing." Barry said and Oliver nodded.

"So, on a different topic, do you still have your spectre powers, because if you do, the bad guys in this city are so screwed." Barry said and Oliver chuckled.

"It's complicated. Technically I'm still the Spectre, but I can only access those powers when it's a crisis or crossover level situation and that is fine with me. You know I don't need powers to save my city." Oliver said.

"I know. You're a human hero and you're better off for it, but I can't deny that it would've been cool to have that Sith you out there." Barry said, referring to what Ryan Choi had said about Oliver's spectre look back at the Vanishing Point.

"You know I'm more Jedi than Sith." Oliver said.

"I promise I will not tell Cisco you just said that." Barry said.

"I'd appreciate it." Oliver admitted.

"So, does Felicity know that you two won't be getting back together?" Barry now asked Oliver.

"Felicity is currently seeing someone else. A woman." Oliver said.

"So would you say that's an upgrade or downgrade?" Barry asked with a grin.

"Definite upgrade." Laurel said as she and Iris joined them.

"Really." Oliver said, raising an eyebrow at her.

"Hey, you forget that I know better than most what it's like to be in a relationship with you and I think that Dawn is definitely an upgrade for Felicity. Especially since it means that you're all mine." Laurel said as she placed her arm around Oliver's shoulders.

"It's good to see you again Laurel." Barry said.

"You too. And yes Oliver and I will be at your wedding." Laurel said, since she and Iris had already talked about it.

"Considering I'm the best man, we'd better be." Oliver said.

"So you really asked him." Iris said with a smile at seeing a weight lifted off her fiance's shoulders.

"Any word from Sara yet?" Barry asked Laurel.

"Not yet, but then again, it isn't exactly easy to escape from Nanda Parbat alive. I'm sure she'll show up eventually." Laurel said, though she was worried about her little sister.

"Sara will be fine, Laurel. I watched her fight off an entire army of shadow demons with only her batons." Barry said, since he and Sara had actually bonded a bit during Crisis due to their shared missing of Oliver.

"Still." Laurel said.

"Laurel, Sara will make it back. But I want you to promise me that no matter what happens, you won't attempt another Lazarus trick." Oliver said and Laurel nodded.

"I know, that was not a healthy way to deal with my grief, but then again, in the old reality, I was never really good at that. I think that my training with Bruce Wayne really helped." Laurel said.

"Wait, you trained with Batman in this reality?" Barry asked, a bit jealous.

"I did and I also found out that I already have my canary cry, but it's not from the particle accelerator explosion." Laurel said.

"Yeah, I was wondering how you got that power?" Oliver asked.

"I inherited it from my grandmother, Dinah Lance. She actually served in World War 2 as a member of the Justice Society of America." Laurel said.

"Huh, so you and Sara have something in common with one of Sara's teammates, Nate Heywood, since his grandfather was also in the JSA." Barry said.

"I guess so." Laurel said as they continued talking.
