Sakura kept her word. For years, she didn't stab people with a knife. But when she started her second year of high school, Ayano noticed a familiar glint in her eye. Realising history was about to repeat itself, she hastily booked a 10-week trip to America with Budo.
"Darling!" Ayano giggled, covering Budo's eyes behind him.
"Yes, Yan?" He sighed, raising a hand to remove hers.
"Guess what?"
"Indulge me."
"We're going on a 10-week trip to America!"
"That's ni— what?"
Ayano smiled as Budo whipped around, incredulous. She held up 2 air tickets and a file containing their itinerary.
"But Yan, what about Sakura? She's starting school now, isn't she? And the Martial Arts academy..."
She placed a finger over his mouth. "Oh darling, it's all arranged. And Sakura would be fine," she said, just as Sakura came in.
"Have fun in America, Mom and Dad," she said, clutching her phone.
Budo started at Sakura. "Will you be safe? What about your food? And—"
"She'll be fine, Budo, how many times do I have to tell you? Maybe she'll greet us at the airport with a boyfriend!" Ayano winked at her daughter as she blushed.
"Oh, Sakura, I laid out a special school skirt for you. You may find its large capacity very... helpful, for you."
Sakura nodded, slightly shocked. "Thank you, Mom. H-have a nice trip."
Oh, I'll have a nice trip alright, darling. Do me proud, do your grandmother proud, and do your family proud.
Get the Senpai I never got.
