»Personality«
Fayora is a fighter, and has been all her life. She likes attention, and will sometimes go to extremes to get it. Confidence and determination are her middle names. When she sets a goal in her mind, there's nothing that will stop her from reaching it. Fayora is ruthless, impulsive, fierce, intimidating, manipulative, vicious, physical, and some might go so far as to call her insane, because she isn't afraid to use these traits, and displays them quite often. She can be quite deceiving as well, as she might try to make a good first-impression on certain people to gain their trust, then she'll turn around and stab them in the back when they get in the way of what she wants. She likes nothing more than arguing and getting under people's skin to the point where they want to kill her. That's what she wants—a challenge. She wants people to hate her so they'll come after her, rather than her having to come after them. Arguing is her fuel that she always craves, and her short-temper and witty remarks often serve in her favor, if not in her downfall. She has this notion that she'll accomplish anything she does—even winning the Hunger Games—and she's not afraid to boast about it and the many other things she's done or plans to do. She kinda has a habit of claiming credit for something that she hasn't done yet, but has the intention of completing. She's just so confident that she'll achieve her goal that she isn't afraid to act like she's already achieved it. Aside from her egotistical traits, Fayora also has a dangerous thirst for blood, and when she gets bored or angry, her mind instantly goes to weapons and all the ways she could kill somebody with them, and she often can't resist the urge to slash or punch something. If someone makes her angry (which is really easy to accomplish) then they are instantly on her target-list, and she will do everything in her power to make their life miserable. Overall, Fayora is basically a devilish, blood-thirsty drama-queen who gets ticked off easily.

»Backstory«
Fayora was the only child of two Victors living in District Two. Therefore, she grew up in the Victor Village surrounded by some of the finest luxuries her District offered—but that didn't mean everything was all sunshine and rainbows. Fayora's family had a name and a reputation to maintain in her District as some of the top Career tributes of their generation. Almost everyone Fayora knew were Victors, or related to previous Victors. That being said, her parents made it their sole duty to train Fayora into the perfect Career and stick with the family tradition. She wasn't exactly the most ideal Career specimen when she was young, and her interests were more directed to things like art. Something like that was never appreciated in Fayora's family and she was constantly scorned for it, so she eventually ceased indulging in her own interests and honed all of her focus into getting into the Academy. She was tired of the disappointment—tired of the scrutiny—and she even once heard talk that her parents would disown her if she didn't live up to their expectations. That made her furious, and she set her mind on proving them all wrong, and showing them that she could be one of the best Career tributes to ever walk the arena. It wasn't a surprise that she made it into the Academy—but even after spending hours on end training there, Fayora would return home and do extra training, pushing herself to her limits. She came to grow a firm disliking for her parents, and she knew that the only way she would ever be able to throw everything in their faces would be to win the Games. She ended up reaching the top of her class at the Academy, but even that wasn't enough to quench her thirst for victory. She needed more—she needed to win. Eventually, Fayora grew so accustomed to her strict routine, that she adopted a cold, detached personality, finding nothing more appealing than reaching her optimum physical capacity, and it became her goal to volunteer for the Games. Something about the idea of going into an arena with twenty-three other people and being the only person to come out made her pulse quicken, and she wanted to feel that...ultimate victory. She could finally prove herself to her parents and everyone else who doubted her abilities in the past...

»Personality«
Eugene is a puzzling individual. Due to years of playing poker, he's developed a rather unreadable personality and a nasty habit of lying. He usually lies to protect himself or to avoid talking about something, but he can't deny that he finds some pleasure in telling falsehoods to get his way, or to get under a specific person's skin. This is unfortunately one of his most prominent traits, and doesn't really earn him many friends—which he's content with, since he's not exactly the best at socializing, and tends to be rather blunt or to-the-point with most conversations. Another reason would be because he's got big trust issues. He can usually read people pretty well, even if they just met him, and determines really quickly if they're trustworthy or not—mostly concluding with the latter. That might be because he always tries to look for a reason not to trust a person, because he's afraid to trust someone and have them turn their back on him. He's pretty independent, but when he has attachments, he's vulnerable. He'll do anything for someone close to him, and will sometimes ignore his conscience to do so. Under his shell, Eugene is actually pretty soft, and is pretty easy to get to if you push the right buttons. That could sometimes go the wrong way though, and he could pull out all the stops and blow his lid off at the person and hold a grudge toward them for eternity. However, if the situation doesn't involve him—or he doesn't realize the depth of the situation—then he tends not to take it very seriously, and will even joke about it. Again, he can be kinda blunt with the things he says—or at least seem that way thanks to the poker-face he's mastered. He would never admit it, but he's honestly really lonely, but is too afraid to get attached to people—and that's why he'll probably never succeed in making good friends—because he doesn't believe that he can trust anyone...

»Backstory«
District Six was a rough place to live—being the largest District in Panem and packed with Peacekeepers (which was due to the District's past reputation of rebelliousness). One of the biggest problems in the District was probably the morphling though—the painkiller drug seemed to be everywhere, and was easy to grow an addiction to. That's what happened to Eugene's parents—well, after his dad passed away suddenly from an accident in a warehouse when Eugene was ten. They never got the details of exactly what happened—and it was like he was there one second and gone the next, leaving a big hole in Eugene's and his sister's lives. Two years after the accident, Eugene's mom married their step-father, Jarvis Hart. He was okay at first, but Eugene and his older sister never trusted him as much as their mother did—something about him just seemed...off. Eventually, their mother and step-father started acting strange, and Eugene discovered that they were abusing morphling. He knew his mother never would've done something like that before she married Hart, and therefore he and his sister blamed him. Hart and Eugene's sister argued every night for several months on the matter, until she suddenly passed away from a morphling overdose one day. This came as both a shock and a puzzle to Eugene, since he knew his sister was repulsed by the drug and would never intentionally leave him and their mother with Hart. This led him to believe that Hart had forced her to overdose—which shattered any remnants of trust or respect Eugene may have had for the man. He never went to the Peacekeepers about it—since overdoses happened a lot in Six, and they would probably just brush the matter off anyways. His mother always seemed out of it after that, and he could barely even talk to her about everything. Without his sister or mother backing him up anymore, Eugene was at Hart's disposal. Hart had always been a gambler, so that's how he used to make money to afford morphling, and Eugene had learned a lot about playing cards and tricks from his real father, so once Hart heard about it, he would send him off to gamble for either more money or morphling. Finding no other choice—and basically being threatened into doing so by his step-father—Eugene gave in and used his skills to win poker games and such. These matches usually took place in shady alleyways or abandoned warehouses, out of Peacekeepers' view, and often past curfew. Therefore, Eugene had to sneak out a lot in the night and try to avoid getting caught by Peacekeepers, which helped him become quite stealthy and street-smart—but it also meant that he would often see things that a lot of people who were under curfew didn't. One of these instances occurred when he was fourteen and witnessed a teenage boy get killed by a Peacekeeper. He never said anything about it, and just moved on with his life. It wasn't his problem. As time went on, Eugene had found himself in quite a winning streak, and had started to form a reputation for being nearly unbeatable at poker. He was only good because he had the be though, and he didn't enjoy a second of it. The gambling business wasn't the safest way to occupy oneself—since a lot of people didn't like to lose, especially to a kid, so it was fairly frequent that he got into brawls or was chased halfway through the neighborhood by angry—and sometimes intoxicated—losers, and would return home with signs of being in a fight. One night, a girl approached him before one of his usual group-matches at the warehouse and made a proposal—she'd gotten word that he'd witnessed her friend's murder, so she challenged him to a game of poker, and if she won, he had to tell her everything he saw. It sounded fair, so Eugene took the deal, even though he was taking a risk by doing so since Hart had threatened to do something if he returned empty-handed that particular night. Unfortunately for him, the girl miraculously won the game, being the first to beat him in a long time, and he told her what she wanted to hear. He almost didn't want to return home that night, since he had no winnings, but he was more afraid of Hart doing something to his mother, so he sucked it up and went back, only to receive the beating of his life. He disliked Hart already, but that night filled him with a burning hatred for the man, and even for the girl who he lost to. Three years later, and Eugene still hadn't seen the girl again—it was a big District, so he wasn't surprised—but finally, on the Reaping day for the 100th Hunger Games, they met again when both of their names were called, but he was far from friendly to her this time around. It seemed like she brought bad luck everywhere, so he had no intentions of making friends with her...or any of the tributes for that matter. He never would've expected to be reaped—as the Hunger Games weren't really ever a big problem in his life, but they certainly didn't make it any better. He wasn't quite sure what the Games had in store, or what would become of his mother, but it sure was gonna be something...
