"That's your friend's name? Taehyung?"
"Yes, and I didn't think he would pull that type of joke on you." Jungkook sighs while shifting his hands into his pant pockets.
Yuna nods mutely to herself as she walks beside him down the street. For some reason, Jungkook's friend's name, Taehyung, sounded familiar. But she can't remember where she heard his name. Or if she even knows him.
She dwells on this thought for a while as she walks with Jungkook through the city. They had left the restaurant after eating a large entree of skewers and Jungkook had suggested they should part ways but, Yuna opposed the idea.
How can you call this a date if you only stay with me for an hour? It looks like you only came for the food.
Those were her words to him when the waiter handed them both the check. She noticed the way Jungkook bit the inside of his cheek and was half expecting him to argue with her but, he did no such thing. He only just sighed tiredly and paid for the check.
Now, they're here, walking through downtown Seoul with no place in mind. Yuna glances to her left at the handsome man beside her. Jungkook's eyes were firmly kept in front of him, his lips pulled down into a thoughtful frown.
His black hair bounced as he walked, some of the strands fell over his temple. Yuna's eyes twinkle at the sight, her blood racing rapidly through her veins. From her line of experience, she knows when she sees an attractive man and, Jungkook was one of them.
She couldn't possibly understand how someone like him hates going on dates. Let alone meeting single gorgeous women. If Yuna was a man with Jungkook's good looks, she would be out every night picking up women.
There was something off about him, he kept checking his phone at the restaurant and he had no dire interest in the conversations he shared with her. Sure, it bothered Yuna but, she kind of enjoyed the mystery this guy brought to life. It made it all the more interesting to be around him.
Quickly takes out her phone and abruptly stops walking. She instantly loops her arm with Jungkook's pulling him back. He was too stunned to understand what was happening until he noticed her phone in front of them ready to take a selfie. Jungkook's eyes become wide and on instinct, he yanks his arm out of Yuna's while pushing her away.
"What are you doing?" He demands a look.
Perplexed by his reaction, Yuna blinks with her mouth slightly agape. Jungkook stares back with a furious look, his tongue poking at his right inner cheek. Yuna never saw him this furious, it confused her. Slowly, she lowers her phone and raises a brow.
"Taking a picture. . .?" She answers warily. "Is there something wrong?"
"Why take a picture?" Jungkook questions with anger layering his words. "What makes you think you can take a picture of me?"
"It's just a selfie, Jungkook," Yuna points out with a frown. "What's the big deal?"
Anger starts to boil within Jungkook, his nose starts to flare as he stares down Yuna with a deadly glare. "We're not taking a picture," he states lowly.
"Why not?" Yuna demands. "It's not a big deal! I'm just going to--"
"Yuna! No!" Jungkook shouts with a vein pulsing in his temple.
Yuna flinches at the harshness of his tone and presses her lips together. She eyes the deep frown upon Jungkook's face then the clenching and unclenching of his fists down at his sides. Yuna's eyes slowly scan the people around her, taking notice of their lingering stares and quiet murmuring.
Her eyes then land back on him, her brows furrowed tightly together. Throughout the many times, she had ran into him, she has never seen him this irritated before. The way he glared at her was icy and harsh, and his jaw was tightly clenched as though he was grinding his teeth.
Yuna attempts to pinpoint the reason why he's upset but, nothing was coming to mind. Lunch was exquisite and so was their talk at the restaurant. Even though she did most of the talking.
There was no reason for him to act this way. Unless he was shy about taking a picture. After all, he flipped out when she told him what she wanted to do.
Heaving a small sigh, Yuna brushes off people's stares and saunters to Jungkook. He was breathing quite heavily and averted his gaze to his side. He was trying to keep his temper on hold.
There was no way he would yell at a woman in public. Even though she was annoying the crap out of him.
"Don't tell me," he hears Yuna drawl. "You're camera shy."
Jungkook rolls his eyes with a scoff. "I am not camera-shy," he replies roughly. "I just don't want to take a picture."
"But that makes no sense!" Yuna exclaims. "If you're not camera-shy then you wouldn't mind. But you do mind then that means you are!"
What kind of logic is that?! Jungkook ponders. It's like talking to a child with no sense at all! Just hearing her say those words had him lose a third of his brain cells.
Jungkook didn't have time for this anymore. He figured having lunch with this woman would be the end of it but, she had to blabber ever so loudly about how he wasn't being a gentleman. He locks eyes with her once more, finding that unusual brightness awfully irritating.
"Listen," Jungkook begins. "I think we should part ways here."
Yuna tilts her head, her smile faltering at the edges. She blinks twice, allowing his words to sink in.
"What?" She breathes with confusion in her eyes.
"We had lunch," Jungkook states.
"Yeah, and?"
"Well, isn't that it? I paid for the date so that means it's over, right?"
Yuna becomes unresponsive, her mood suddenly going south. Clearly, this man is restless. A monkey could tell from the first moment its eyes landed on him.
Yuna wasn't appreciating how things were going. A whole different situation ran through her head just a moment ago. But seeing how Jungkook spoke dully and carelessly towards her in the past couple of hours, she became quite sure he was itching to leave.
"You haven't done this in a while, haven't you?" Yuna questions with a frown. Jungkook raises a brow, not understanding her words.
"Excuse me?"
"You know, going on dates," Yuna clarifies while gesturing her hand aimlessly. "You have no manners whatsoever and when I try talking to you, your mind was elsewhere."
She shakes her head while tutting like she was a disappointed parent. "Obviously, you don't know when to be on your phone or not. You're addicted, aren't you?"
"I am not!" Jungkook gasps. His jaw dropped while his eyes widen, offensively. "I am only on my phone when I have to be!"
"Oh, so during the date, it was required to have it out while I'm talking?" Yuna questions, crossing her arms. A loud scoff emits from Jungkook's lips and looks up at the sky.
"I don't believe this," he grumbles to himself.
She was taking it all too seriously, his attention was upon her. He just didn't have the care to store that information. Besides, Jimin was spamming him with wonderful pictures of Mihi playing with Yoongi at the park. How could he ignore that?
"I was on it for a reason, alright?" Jungkook sighs.
"Okay, then what was the reason why you were on it?" Yuna demands. "Was it something important than your date with a hot chick?"
Jungkook quickly presses his lips together to hold in a laugh. Was she really that conceded? He'll give her credit for being confident in herself, but still! She doesn't have to put herself that high on the pedestal. Especially, to a man she went on a date with.
"Yes, it was important," Jungkook answers curtly.
He felt every muscle in his body twitch, his temper kindling within. Painfully, he swallows down all his anger, plastering a fake smile upon his rosy lips.
"Miss Han, it was a pleasure having lunch with you but, I have other matters to attend to," he says politely as he could. He gives her a small bow before turning his heel.
"Let's not do this again, alright? Don't contact me again."
Yuna stands in the middle of the sidewalk stunned by Jungkook's dismissal. She watches him disappear into the crowd as she relays the last words he said. It finally came to mind that she has been dumped.
On the first date.
Anger suddenly boils through her veins, her heart racing ever so rapidly. There was no way she got dumped. Never, did a guy dump her.
She tightly clenches her fists, her cheeks red in utter embarrassment.
"The nerve of that guy!" She fumes angrily. "How can he dump someone like me! How idiotic!"
Swiftly she turns around and stomps down the street. Her mind races faster than her feet moved, each thought not computing than the last.
How could this happen? Did she wear the wrong clothes? Order something off? Or was she not being too flirty?
There were endless possibilities as to why he left but, she couldn't think of any! She was a delight!
Her phone rings in her purse, snapping Yuna back to reality. Quickly, she takes out her phone and answers.
"What?" She snaps.
"What the hell is with the tone, Yuna?!" She hears Sejun question angrily on the other line. "Who do you think you're talking to?"
"Sorry, my bad," Yuna blandly apologizes. She listens to the small scoff Sejun released and rolls her eyes.
"The hell's your problem? Did the date not go well?"
Yuna clicks her tongue, "Not only did it not go well but, I also got dumped!"
A loud shrill of laughter emits from the other line, causing Yuna to pull away from her phone. She glares at the object as though it was her friend before bringing it back.
"What's so funny?" She demands sternly. When the laughter dies down, Sejun releases a sigh.
"What made you think that it would go well, Yuna?" She questions with a chuckle. "First, you stalk this guy, then you get embarrassed by his dumbass friend, and you force a pity date of him. Tell me, are those the signs that show, a good date?"
Yuna bites down her tongue to keep from retorting a smart ass answer. She wasn't in the mood for this dumb lecture.
"But he dumped me!" Yuna whines.
"And you deserved it!" Sejun retorts. "Don't you feel bad for the guy?? He was forced into a date that he never wanted. Look, if it's a thing you want for your dumb social media page then just back together with Kai."
"I'm not doing that!" Yuna exclaims. "We ended on a rough note five months ago." Yuna shakes her head at Sejun's insolence.
"Do you know what kind of drama I'll be starting with my followers?"
"Then tough," Sejun states. "Just don't contact Jungkook anymore. You can do better than him anyway." Yuna raises a brow at her sudden words, puzzled by what she said.
"What's that supposed to mean??"
"Nothing!" Sejun quickly proclaims with a sigh. She wasn't about to tell her the extra package Jungkook brought along. "Anyway, my brother needs your help."
Yuna scoffs with a shrug. "Nothing new."
"He says he needs you to pick up Kim and Asong tommorow at the daycare," Sejun informs.
A loud groan bursts thorugh Yuna's lips while her body slouches in disapproval.
"Are you kidding me?" She whines. "I have to pick them up now?! What am I, a nanny?"
"Hey, I'm not the one who boldly commited their time to a friend's older brother," Sejun points out with a smirk.
"Well, I didn't think he would've taken it seriously that time!" Yuna defends. "Besides, I don't have a damn car! You do!"
"Can't help you there, bub. But, I only called to tell you that, I have meeting to get to. I'll send you the details later, alright?"
"Yeah, yeah fine," Yuna mutters. "I'm seriously regretting what I said now."
She hears a loud chuckle on the other line before ending the call. Yuna breathes out heavily while shaking her head.
Her mood was foul but a part of her couldn't help but be little cheery now. She gazes down at her lock screen with a faint smile over her lips.
"You two are lucky you're cute."
