"What? Why do you need it all of a sudden," questions Sejun.

She eyes Yuna with a skeptical gaze, pondering over her sudden demand. A low groan escapes Yuna's lips while she scrunches her brows together.

"I just need it for something!" She exclaims. "Can I have it real quick??"

She impatiently motions her fingers while bouncing up and down on her stool, childishly. Sejun rolls her eyes before shaking her head. She pulls out her phone and shows it to Yuna. Slouching over the counter and, she gives her a hard look while shaking her phone.

"Tell me what you need it for then, maybe I'll lend it to you," she drawls tiredly.

Yuna bites her lip anxiously as she lowers her hand in defeat. She begins to weigh her odds while keeping her eyes locked with Sejun's tired ones. Telling her the true intention would certainly, lead her to failure. Yuna was sure of it.

But on the other hand, if she lies again, then she would be in heaping trouble. She can already imagine the lecture she would receive and feel the stinging pain radiating behind her head. Yuna averts her gaze, either way, Sejun won't lend her the phone.

She begins to rack her small brain for any ideas as to how to persuade her best friend but, nothing worth trying came to her mind. Mindlessly, she starts to play with the ends of her hair while releasing a soft sigh. Maybe telling Sejun half of the truth wouldn't hurt, right?

"Alright, fine," she caves.

With her head, Sejun motions for Yuna to continue while swinging her phone lightly in front of her. Yuna eyes it with desire, her pupils dilated at the sight.

Just a moment, Yuna thinks. I just need it for a moment.

"Go on," Sejun presses. "Why do you need my phone?"

"Well, because I was hoping to text Mister Jeon through your phone," Yuna carefully informs.

"Why?" Sejun demands with pursed lips. Her spine straightens, she starts to bring her phone close to her body. Yuna's eyes widen in displeasure while she pulls her lips down into a frown.

"I just want to see if he's gay," Yuna mumbles.

"He has a boyfriend, Yuna," Sejun exasperates with a disappointing sigh. "That should be proof enough! You don't need to text him."

"Yes, I do!" Yuna conjures with her palms becoming sweaty.

She wants to text him, a small ringing bell in the back of her head kept doubting the incident. A part of her had a feeling he wasn't gay, nor was that his boyfriend. There was just something about the way Jungkook looked at him made her have her doubts.

"Besides," Sejun continues, bringing Yuna out of her daze. "If you text him through my phone, he'll think it's me!"

"Exactly!" Yuna exclaims with a hopeful gleam in her emerald eyes. "You're his boss! He's going to have to tell you the truth."

"That's not how it works, stupid!"

Sejun shakes her head while releasing a disbelief chuckle. Slapping the back of Yuna's head started to sound nice right about now.

She can't text Jungkook about something this personal. It was over the line in work policies unless he wanted to let her know.

If she lets Yuna pretend to be her, then Jungkook would possibly report her to Human Resources for being inappropriate. Or worse, he might leave the company and, she'll lose her position.

This all should be common sense, especially to a nimrod like Yuna. Sejun keeps a tight leash on her temper while an irk forms on her temple. She looks at Yuna, her left brow twitching upwards.

"Yuna, sweetie," she starts slowly to contain her anger. "Texting Jungkook and pretending to be me is out of the question."

"Oh, c'mon, Sejunnie!" Yuna whines. "It's the perfect plan! That way, if it isn't true, then I can give him my number but, it's you who did. Get it?"

"I'll get in trouble, Yuna!" Sejun shouts while waving her phone. "Do you not understand how inappropriate it is for me, as his boss, to ask such a thing?"

Yuna pronounces a sigh while sagging her shoulders. It was such a good plan too! If only Sejun wasn't such a goody-two-shoes at her job, then this would've gone a different route.

A loud ring was emitted from Yuna's left, causing her ears to perk up at the sound. She glances to the left and sees Sejun unlocking her phone. She releases a small huff before looking up at Yuna.

"Well, speak of the devil." She shows her the bright screen with one lone text on the top left corner.

Mr. Jeon:
Good evening, Ms. Guri. I have a quick favor to ask of you if that's okay?

Yuna read the lone text a few times while gaping like a fish. He texted Sejun somehow, she tasted something bitter in her mouth at the thought. She pondered what his favor could be it, might have been work-related. It was nothing for her to excited over.

But imagining him sitting somewhere in his apartment staring at his phone intrigued her. His text was practically screaming at her to text him ASAP. This was her chance.

Quicker than Sejun could curse, Yuna snatches Sejun's phone and types in a short reply.

Guri Sejun:
Good evening to you too, Mister Jeon! What is this favor you speak of?

"Han Yuna!" Sejun barks, ignoring the few stares around them.

She tries to snatch back her phone but Yuna kept turning left and right. It was next to impossible when this woman was small and swift.

Damn that rotating stool she's sitting on!

"Give me back my damn phone!" She rages. Yuna ignores Sejun's angry demands, keeping her eyes glued to the three dots appearing on the left. Her heart jolts in exhilaration while her lips spread into a giddy grin.

"Quit it, Sejunnie!" She swats her hands away, guiding Sejun back to her stool. "He's texting back!"

"Then give the damn phone!" Sejun demands. "It might be important."

Yet, Yuna does the complete opposite and clutches the phone tightly in her hand. When his text finally appears, she couldn't help but squeal softly to herself.

Mr. Jeon:
Well, I'm unsure if your friend, Han Yuna, has informed
you of an incident that happened earlier.
But if she did, then can you please tell her that I'm very sorry, and it was all a misunderstanding?

So she was right. It wasn't true. Jungkook wasn't gay and was straight as a pencil!

"Oh my god, Sejunnie, he said it was all a joke!!" She squeals in utter excitement.

Sejun's anger slowly sweeps away, the fire in her distinguishes into nothing like she was never angry in the first place. A warm, fractured smile pastes itself on her lips with curiosity filling her honey-colored eyes.

"Are you serious?" She inquires. Yuna nods vigorously and shows her the screen.

"Look!"

Sejun reads over the text, releasing a small chuckle afterward. There's no need for her to worry then if he initiated it. Might as well let Yuna do her thing besides, it's been a while since she saw her act this way.

"Well, if he started this conversation, then do what you need to then," she asserts with a smile. "But, don't take it too far, you're playing me after all."

Yuna releases a warm laugh while pulling back her phone. "Don't worry, Sejunnie!" She beams. "It won't be long. I'm just going to give him my number."

Sejun rolls her eyes with a smile before going back to her soju. With a flush of red blooming over her cheeks, Yuna goes back to the phone and let her thumbs dance over the screen.

Guri Sejun:
Ah, yes, Yuna has told me all about it.
I'm with her right now . . . she's still upset :(

Mr. Jeon:
Oh, really? :((
It was a complete misunderstanding and, I never meant to hurt her feelings . . .
Is there anything I can do?

Guri Sejun:
Hmm, well there is one thing. . .

Mr. Jeon:
Please, tell me, Ms. Guri!
I want to make it up to her in any way possible.

An evil grin makes an appearance over Yuna's lips, knowing she has him right where she wants him.

She never realized he was so gullible. Maybe having fun with him would be quite, easy.

Guri Sejun:
Text her.

Mr. Jeon:
. . . I have to text her??

Guri Sejun:
Simple, right? :)
Here's her number!
+821-XXX-XXXX

Mr. Jeon:
Oh, umm, thanks . . .
I'll get to it then.

"Here!" Yuna tosses back Sejun's phone, ignoring her scolds about throwing something so fragile. She takes out her phone and stares at her lock screen till that simple text appears.

She couldn't believe her plan worked. God, he was like putty in her hands. But damn, when is going to text her??

The seconds were starting to feel like minutes. Yuna bounces her knees anxiously while chewing her bottom lip. Come on, she thinks impatiently. It doesn't take long to type in one simple sentence!

She jolts in her chair when her phone abruptly buzzed. She sucks in a breath and opens her messages, and there it was. Her first-ever text from Jeon Jungkook.

A fit of giggles overwhelms her while her hearts pound endlessly against her chest. She read the message ever so slowly, taking in every word.

+821-XXX-XXXX:
Hello, Yuna, this Jeon Jungkook.
I'm sorry to be texting you so suddenly but, Ms. Guri gave me your number to set things straight between us.

Us.

He said, us. This had to be some sort of dream Yuna was entrapped in but, there was no way she was willing to wake up. Her thumbs flew across the keyboard, indulging herself into this giddy, warm feeling blooming inside her.

Yuna:
Oh, Mister Jeon . . .
Hello.

+821-XXX-XXXX:
Look, I just want to apologize for what happened earlier.
It was a stupid joke, my friend was playing earlier, and I didn't stop him.
I'm sorry about that, and I hope we can forget what happened today.

Yuna:
Is that all I'm getting?
An apology over text?😒

+821-XXX-XXXX:
....How else am I supposed to apologize?
This was the only way I thought of to reach out to you.

+821-XXX-XXXX:
And I told you, call me, Jungkook not, Mister Jeon.
We're not co-workers.

Yuna:
Fine then

Change +821-XXX-XXXX to Jungkook?

Yes✔️ No

Yuna:
But you're not thinking hard enough, Jungkook.
You embarrassed me in public!😢
I think I deserve something more than one stupid apology.

Jungkook:
You're making this harder than it has to be, you know!

Jungkook:
But, fine . . . what is it that you want?

Jungkook:
Money?

Yuna:
Wtf?! 😡

Yuna:
No, I don't want money!!
What's the matter with you?!

Jungkook:
Sorry! But you're being difficult!
You made it sound like you wanted money!

Yuna:
Well, I don't!
I want to go on a date with you!

Jungkook:
. . . .

Jungkook:
Excuse me?
But did you say, date?

Yuna:
Yes.
I want to go on a date with you.😁

Jungkook:
Umm, I'm sorry, Yuna, but I'm not on the dating field at the moment . . .

Yuna:
Come on, Jungkook!😩
I'm not asking much!

Jungkook:
Yuna, I don't want to go on a date.

Yuna:
Look, think of it as a way of apologizing to me.
You did humiliate me in front of my friend, who is also your boss, you know.🙁

Jungkook:
. . . .

Jungkook:
Alright, fine!
If this is how you'll take an apology then, fine!

Jungkook:
But only one date, got it?

Yuna:
haha, you're funny.

Jungkook:
What did I say?

Yuna:
Just the fact you think we're only going to have one date. 😂

Yuna:
You're going to want to go on more afterward. 👀

Jungkook:
. . . I'm starting to rethink my decision.

Yuna:
I'm joking😂
Sheesh, we're going to
need loosen you up a bit

Yuna:
You're too serious for my liking.🙅🏻

Jungkook:
I'm going to ignore the fact that you just insulted me.

Jungkook:
Since you came up with this idea,
what type of data do you plan for us?

Yuna:
Well, I imagined my first date would be with a hot guy, and we would walk around downtown Seoul . . . but I'm starting to think otherwise.👉🏻👈🏻

Jungkook:
. . .

Yuna:
SO!
In other words, I got the hot guy but, I don't think you'll be up to walking around all day.😅

Jungkook:
So, what are we doing then?
Are we just going out to eat then?

Yuna:
Yes!
Lunch, to be exact!😃

Jungkook:
Where at then??

Yuna:
Hmm,
have you been to the popular restaurant called,
Stuck on Skewers?
