CHAPTER 29

Resolution

Riddhima's POV:

Next Morning:

Starting with my morning routine, I approach my tasks with a sense of purpose. I want to go to Sanya. After done with my chore, I headed towards the kitchen, eager to comfort her after the heartbreak she had faced the previous night. The weight of those harsh revelations still hung in the air, especially since they involved Vansh, who had unwittingly captured my sister—Sanya's heart.

Rehaan was right, Vansh definitely manipulated her into all this. I can't believe I asked him to hire her. If not for me, my sister won't be in this situation ever.

With a mix of hope and apprehension, I made my way to Sanya's room, coffee in one hand and a plate of food in the other. As I opened the door, a sense of unease washed over me—Sanya's room was empty, "Sanya?" I called out softly, hoping for a response, but only silence greeted  me back.

I quickly moved to the bathroom, knocking gently and waiting for an answer. Still, there was nothing. Panic began to set in as I move out of the room, to search the corridors, terrace. I searched the rest of the house, my heart racing.

Finally, I reached for my phone and called Sanya, ring goes for once, twice and then the computer voice says her phone is switched off.

Last night was hard for her, but I know that she is strong willed. She must be here. Somewhere.

Rehaan looks up at me, as soon as I enter his office inside our mansion. Sunil standing by his side. "Sanya's not here. I can't find her anywhere."

"She must be somewhere, Bhabhi. It's early morning. May be she went for a morning walk." Sunil says and I just shake my head. Rehaan even notices the amiss. Because Sanya never goes out for morning walk, when she can use the gym we have.

Rehaan's reaction was immediate. "Get everyone to search for her. Every guard lined up outside." Sunil thinks about interrupting him. But sensing the worry laced on my face, he just nods and leaves.

"Where can she go?" I ask Rehaan. I should have just told her everything beforehand.

"We'll find her. Don't Worry." He says and lacing his fingers through mine. "Come let's go and search for her."

Rehaan's brow furrowed, and he immediately sprang into action, rallying everyone in the house to join the search. They combed through every room, calling Sanya's name, but it was as if she had vanished. Each passing moment heightened the anxiety in the air.

Biting down on my lip with worry, I look up at Rehaan. Somehow, I know where she can be. Rehaan exchanged anxious glances from me, sensing that something was terribly wrong. The atmosphere shifted from one of mundane routine to a palpable tension, as the shadows of uncertainty loomed over us.

I hope she comes back like she first came back to India. But I know I am just heightening my hope.

-----------------------

Sanya's POV:

I have no idea why am I here, just determination to seek the truth. Who can tell this better than the man who made it all happen? I know I should have returned back his key card but somehow, I didn't. May be it was for this day.

I enter his apartment and standing just at the entrance I recall when I came here first. The surreal feeling at that moment feels like it was months ago, when it couldn't be more than week ago. Last night made me realize that many things could have gone wrong if I wouldn't have confessed from him.

I wouldn't have ever known that he was sister's tormentor. He was the killer of his own child. He was the culprit. Wiping away the last of my tears, I look up and call out his name, "Vansh??"

I hope he his home. He was supposed to leave today, may be he left.  He didn't, he comes down the staircase and looks at me standing Infront of the elevator. "Sanya? What are you doing here?

"Did you torture my sister?" The questions escapes my lips even before I can hold them. Because it was always the only thought in my brain since last night.

"I have no idea, why you need those answers from me," He says and comes to stand a few feet away from me. Safe Distance.

"I need those answers from the one who made all that happen." He looks at me with brows furrowed. "You killed your own child."

No answer. Of course, he has nothing to answer. No explanation at all.

"You have no regrets about killing your own child. How can you be such a monster?" I can again feel the tears drifting down. I fell in love with this man. Just how? "You are the murderer of your own child. I can't believe, I..."

"Shut up." He growls and coming closer to me looks at me. His face can tell the anger he is holding. Anger? He has no right to be angry.

"Why should I? Tell me am I wrong?" He can look anyway at me but now it doesn't affect me. I am not scared of him. "No, I am not. YOU. ARE. THE. MURDERER. OF. YOUR. OWN. CHILD."

"I said shut up." He replies and now with calm-angry tone. I shake my head and I'm about to reply back when he holds my arm and slams me to the pillar.  "You have no right to judge me, when you have never been in my place."

"Judge you? Mr. Vansh Raisinghania, I am alleging you." I say looking right into his eyes. "YOU. A..."

"I am not. I didn't knew that she was pregnant." He didn't. May be a speck of relief crosses but I know that relief is wrong. He is a murderer

"Or what? you wouldn't have attempted to kill her?" I yell back in his tone. "What if you had known that she was pregnant?"

"I would have brought her back" He still loves her. He still loves my sister. Oh my god. "I loved her. I would have accepted my child."

"No, Let me tell you what you would have done, if the moment she would have came back to you saying she was pregnant. You would have said that child is not yours, she slept with someone else and now she is dropping that child on you." I say and push him away from him. But he doesn't budge. "And I know this because last night's revelation about your past may have given me new light to know you."

For a moment, I can see the fleck of hurt in his eyes, just for a second then it vanishes as if he is shielding himself from the inside.

"I can't believe it, I love a man like you. You are nothing more than a monster, Mr. Raisinghania." I say and feel his grip loosen.

"I don't think. Riddhima told you everything. Did she told you that she came to my house as a spy?" I hear his reply himself. "Did she told you that she married while she was so loyal and in love with her Kabir? Did she?"

"She expressed her loyalty to you as well. She didn't hurt anyone in your family, did she? Infact, she took care of your family and you as well." I say knowing may be my sister was wrong.

"She betrayed me." He shouts at my face.

"And you? what you did? You presented someone else as your wife. You took away her identity." I say feeling everything breaking inside me.

"Everything was fake." His voice sounds weak. He regrets but nothing can make everything  go back to it was.

"I can't, Vansh. I can't believe this. I trusted you, I thought you were the good one but you are...I..." With no hold supporting me like last night, I fall down on my knees. "How can I fall in love with you? How can I go against my family?"

"Sanya..." He falls down near me and comes to hold me but I stop him.

"Don't. Don't touch me. I can rid of these feelings within few days. But that thought of you being a monster...I can't. May be I can forgive you, but my family won't." I don't when those words escape me but it does. "I even tried to explain about the rumor to you in office but you blamed everything at me. From the moment I stayed here for the nightworried about you, you knew that I had started to feel something for you, right?

"Yes, I..." he says looking away from me.

"You never dared to stop me. You never thought to tell me the truth? We stayed for 5 days working and you never told me." I ask looking up at him, still on my knees.

"I thought..." He replies not looking at me.

"You thought what?" As soon as the determination came, the tears stopped falling and I took a resolution from myself. "That my feelings would be childish. You can get rid of me somehow, and if I become a problem. You will kill me too."

"No. I am not a murderer" He murmurs looking at me now.

"Lie to the world but not to yourself. Mr. Raisinghania." I stand back on my legs and stumble. He catches me immediately to steady me. May be one day, I'll find some genuine love but right now I feel hollow from inside. "Before I leave, I have to tell you something. Don't ever come back to the Rajput's Mansion. Cause now, Rehaan and everyone in the family will kill you. And they won't hold any regret. in doing that."

"Why? Why do you give a damn?" Back to the same man, I feel nothing for.

"Because somehow I damn care for you. I love you but, don't worry I would never stand as a problem for you and that woman of yours." I say and turn to leave him.

"I am leaving though." He says from behind me.

"I don't care." I say and stand in front of the elevator when I remember I still have his spare key card. "And, your key card is here. I will send the resignation later to the HR."

No words. Getting inside the elevator, I turn to look at him while the doors are about to close.

"Have a safe journey! Mr. Vansh Raisinghania" I say while he is still looking at me.

Getting inside the car, As I sit inside my car, the weight of heartbreak crashes down on me. I grip the steering wheel tightly, my knuckles white, as the reality of the everything settles in. The world outside blurs into a haze, and I feel utterly isolated, even among bustling streets.

Tears begin to well up in my eyes, hot and relentless. They spill out, fall on my cheeks, and leave behind mascara marks. I try to suppress a sob, but it escapes, a raw sound that echoes within the confines of the car. Every breath feels heavy, filled with the pain of unfulfilled hopes.

My minds races through the moments they shared—during the bonfire, on the rooftop, during the trial. The laughter they shared—even when there were few. Those moments that now seem tainted.

With each sob, I am released from the burden of despair, longing for healing but unsure how to begin. No I'm not sure, I know what to do. I need to leave this place. I need to go back. I will leave and will never look back.

Wiping away the remains of my tears, I bring the car on the road that right now leads to Rajput's mansion but soon would take me to my sanctuary. My home.

Within a few minutes, I enter the mansion and see that no one is there. Silence is the only thing that greets me. Without any hassle, I head towards my room and lock it behind me. I just have to look when is the next flight. Maybe with just a message to Riddhima  and Rehaan, I'll leave. I don't have the guts to face them.

-----------------------

After an hour, I zipped up my bag and set it down near the bed. My flight departs at 2 PM, just two hours from now. Suddenly, I heard a knock on the door.

"Come in," I said, waiting for the visitor to enter. Our cook walked in.

"Ma'am, when did you arrive?" I turned to see our caretaker.

"Just an hour ago," I replied with a shrug.

"Would you like me to bring you something to eat?" After considering the long flight ahead, I nodded in agreement.

As she left, I decided it was time to send my resignation letter to HR. I didn't care whether Vansh signed it or not.

Moments later, I heard another knock, this time more insistent. I opened the door to find my sister—Riddhima and Rehaan, standing there.

"Sanya! Where have you been?" Riddhima asked, her eyes filled with worry. "We were searching for you when I couldn't find you in your room."

I hesitated for a moment, then replied, "Oh, I just went to the library." I tried to sound casual, though I could sense the skepticism in their tone.

Rehaan furrowed his brow. "You didn't tell us you were going out. We were starting to worry."

I felt a pang of guilt for lying but pressed on. "I didn't think it was a big deal. I was just...nearby. Still, I am sorry I should have informed before leaving."

They nod and then Riddhima turns to look inside my room. I guess she saw my stuff because her eyes landed on me again with curiosity. "Bags? Where are you going?"

Taking a deep breath, I steeled myself. "Actually, I wanted to let you both know that I'm leaving for London."

Their faces fell, shock registering instantly. "What do you mean, leaving?" Rehaan asked, bewildered.

"I've accepted a new job there. Though it was an old job here. It's a great opportunity for me," I explained, trying to maintain my composure despite the weight of my words.

Riddhima looked at me in disbelief. "But... why didn't you tell us last night? When do you leave? Did we do something?"

"No, no. Actually, I want to go back to mom. I swear I'll come back soon." I say lying, I'm not coming back anytime soon. "I'm leaving in an hour,"

I replied, feeling a mix of relief and sadness. The room fell silent as they processed the news. Riddhima looks at me with sad eyes, but its Rehaan who nods in agreement.  "I think she needs break from whatever happened last night."

"Is that why are you leaving? Because of Vansh?" I don't reply they'll get what they want to know from my silence.

"It's ok, Come downstairs. Have your lunch with us before you leave." I nod on Rehaan's request and follow them.

-----------------------

Vansh's POV:

I don't know how long it's been since Sanya left—maybe half an hour—when my phone rings, breaking the silence.

"Boss, the jet is ready.I respond with a simple acknowledgment before disconnecting the call. It's only 15 minutes away.

My thoughts are filled with how broken she looked, because of me. I can't believe I did that to her. I do that to everyone who loves. They are not the problem, its me.

'You are the murderer of your own child. I can't believe, I...' her words still echoes inside my head. Every word she spoke is firmly etched in my memory. I had no idea that Riddhima was pregnant. But then, even the thought of hurting her was wrong. How can I think about hurting my own wife? We vowed to stay with each other even at our worst time and I gave her place to someone else when the first challenge came.

I regret each of my actions, but that's the problem—once made, they can't be undone. Now, I must live with the consequences and the burden of my regrets.

I head back upstairs to my room and pull my bags from the closet. I can't take everything with me, but I'll pack some essentials. Since, I'm not selling this place—it holds too many good memories—I can come back here anytime.

I look at my arranged clothes and think that may be Sanya was the worst cook, but she excelled at keeping things organized. It didn't took me more than half an hour to pack.

An hour later, I sit in my jet, finally ready to leave for home. I hold onto the hope that I'll find some happiness with my family.
