CHAPTER 27

Final Realization

Sanya's POV:

I can't believe that we won the case. Damn, I won my first case, that too so early.  I look back and see Vansh sitting near me. I am going back to office in his car. His leg is now healed.

"Thank you so much for your help, Sanya." He says his voice sounds grateful not excited like me. That's strange. "Now I can finally go back."

I can feel it, my heart getting twisted in a weird sense. He is leaving, Of Course he is. He had told me about it beforehand, I just didn't believe that it would be this fast. I met him approximately fifteen days ago and within these days I have gained all these feelings for him. I still think this is nothing more than a crush or infatuation.

"Though, we still need to search for the real culprit. He is still inside my office." I just nod at his words and look out of the window at all the hustle and bustle of the main city. "You can still work for my company, if you want I mean."

"Thanks." I say faking my voice as genuine gratefulness towards his words.

After a minute or two, I watch the driver bring the car to a stop. I look outside at the building where I first came two weeks away with a hope for a job.

We enter inside the office and I look at everyone standing in front of the elevator with bouquets and cards. How did they got the news this early? Mrs. Sharma comes rushing towards her boss and hands her bouquets to him, "Congratulations Sir."

"How did you all got the news?" He voices my questions and we both look at everyone.

"HR told us." An employee says and I look at Mrs. Sharma for the answers.

"Sir, from your secretary." Vansh turns to look at his secretary by his side. He was with us.

"Congratulations ma'am." I turn when a bouquet with a card lands on my hand suddenly. " Congratulations to both of you sir and ma'am, Mrs. Sharma told us that you and our boss are in a relationship."

"What?" I say shocked and turn to look at Vansh who is now looking at the HR.

"What the hell is this?" There is no need to emphasize who he is asking because his eyes does enough work.

"Sir, I got to know about this from Sanya." She says in a trembling voice. I am going to get a second heart attack now. What the hell is she talking about.

"Sanya..." I can feel his anger in his voice.

"What are you talking about?" I look at Mrs. Sharma for answers. When did I even said that?

"Ms. Sanya, didn't you mentioned about this few days from now. I thought..." Oh my god. She didn't thought, she manipulated my words to make a rumor.

"What you thought or not, has nothing to do with my company. I don't pay you all to interfere in my private life." Vansh's voice resonated through the silent office, firm and unwavering "I expect professionalism at all times. Please return to your seats. Mrs. Sharma, I need you in my office in half an hour. Sanya, you're with me."

"But Mr. Raisinghania—" HR says hesitated, concern evident on her face but he cut her off, as he walked back to his office, leaving no room for further discussion. I don't wait to listen to her and follow him back but all while I can feel her throwing glares at my head. But what the hell I did?

"Sanya, what the hell was that?" I hear as soon as I enter inside his office.

"Trust me, Vansh. I had no idea that she will manipulate my words in this way." He still looks frustrated. "That day when we had the board meeting I just said that..."

"Sanya, first of all I am grateful that you helped me that night but you coming there was needed." I can't believe he just said that. "And then you mentioned something like that in front of my employee that gave her the hint that we have something going on."

"Vansh, I" I am interrupted by him.

"You are just like the others; for now, you are my employee. So, it's 'sir' for you as well. Let's keep our personal lives separate from our professional responsibilities." I look away from him, fighting to suppress the pain threatening to seep deeper into my heart.

"Sure. But I can explain." I say, hoping he would.

"There is no need and you can leave." he replies and I turn to leave his office with just a nod. "By the way, since there's nothing pressing at the moment, feel free to take a few days of paid leave."

I nod, feeling a certain heartache, determined not to let the tears escape as I hurried down the corridor. Once I reached the elevator, I pressed the button and took a deep breath

After leaving the building, I called the driver to bring the car. Just then, my phone rang—Sunil's name flashed on the screen. I cleared my throat, trying to mask the turmoil inside me. "Hey, Sunil," I said, hoping my voice sounded steady.

"Sanya, I need your help." Whoa, I am getting continuous shocks after one. He needs my help.

"With what?" I ask sounding suspicious.

"Proposal, I need your help in setting up everything, so that I can propose to Sejal. Will you?" I look as the driver brings my car to the stop.

"Hmm...for marriage or is it just a fling?" I say trying to sound threatening.

"Sanya, you know everything." I do everything from a long time and from both sides. "So, are you free?"

Of Course I am, I was just thrown out of my job, literally and figuratively. So we decide to meet at a location where I need to interview him for my best friend.

Rehaan's POV:

I have no idea where my right hand man is. He is not home from last night. And for Godsake, Vansh even won the case today. I turn to look at Riddhima, who is making something with my mom.

"Are you leaving for your office or not?" Damn, I can hear the anger her voice. "Mom, I am fed up of him. This husband of mine has a huge business to run and still stays at home as if he is unemployed."

"Rehaan, don't you need to go back to your office." Now my mom is on her side. That's the charm of my women.

"Riddhima, I am just waiting for Sunil." I say and look at them. Mom bites on her lip to stop herself from laughing while throwing glances at my wife.

"I know where he is. And he won't be coming for work. I gave him the day off." Riddhima says folding her hands on her chest and glaring at me. "You got a problem?"

"Nope, I should leave." I say and turn to leave just when a thought crosses my mind. "Where is Sanya? I haven't seen her at home. From few days, she is not even at home till it's evening."

"Yeah, she got a job somewhere." I hear mom say as she stirs something inside the pan.

"A job? And no one told me about this?" I say and look at both of them who just shrugs. "Which company?"

Before they can answer, my phone rings—Sunil.

"Where are you?" I ask him as soon as the call connects.

"You are more concerned about him than you have ever been for me." I hear Riddhima ask from behind me as she looks at me with eyebrows raised in question.

"No rubbish talks, Riddhima." I say and smile at her.

"Boss, I informed Bhabhi that I will be taking a day off." I know that but where is he? Does he even know what happened.

Making myself move out of the room, I voice out my questions.

"Know what?" Of course he doesn't.

"That Vansh Raisinghania won the case." I say and look around me to spot no one.

"Oh wow, I knew Sanya could do that. She is intelligent." He doesn't know anything about Riddhima's past. No one does apart from me.

"What does Sanya has anything to do with it?" I say totally confused.

"You don't know? Sanya is the legal advisor for his company." No fuck, no. I can't believe this. I had no idea about this.

"Since when?" My voice roars around the room as I let out my anger.

"Since all this time. Didn't she told you?" I hear him ask in confusion. Not wanting to make him the reason of my anger, I disconnect the call.

"Rehaan..." I hear a soft voice behind me. I turn to look at Riddhima and then everything that happened in her past flashes through my head. My guilt of being incompetent of keeping her sister safe, I engulf her in a hug while keeping a safe distance between her bump and my stomach.

"I am so sorry, Riddhima. I didn't knew about this." Riddhima looks up at me.

"Sorry for what? What's wrong?" I look down at her small frame in my hold.

"I had no idea that all this while, Sanya has been working for Vansh's company." I feel her stiffen in my hold. "I know. I know that I promised you to keep you and your family safe and I will. Nothing will hurt you again, I promise."

"Rehaan, Calm down. I knew about this." I hear her words and look back at her face. "I mean. All this while, I knew about this. She did told me."

"How can you let her do this?" I say not letting her leave my embrace. My wife knew about this.

"Rehaan, listen to me. She needed this job to gain experience." I hear the words but there is no logic.

"My company was always there for that." I see her nod.

"I know. I myself told her but she didn't want to take your help." Riddhima says holding my biceps.

"My friends or my other business associates could have done that." I reply as if that wasn't always there for my family.

"She didn't want to get the job through source or something like that. She wanted to show her worth to us all." I am not getting this, Vansh is not the guy she should even talk to. "Rehaan, I know you are worried for her but trust me Vansh won't do something to her. We won't let him."

"Call her. I want to know where she is." I say as I can't even believe her words. She does call her and after a ring or to she answers, I take the phone from my wife's hand and say, "Where are you, Sanya?"

"Rehaan,... I thought it was Riddhima." She replies to my answer with that and I look down at my wife. "I am with Sunil. Can you believe your best friend is going to propose Sejal? I am just helping him do the preparation."

"What about your job?" I say trying to sound calm. Riddhima pleads to me with her eyes.

"Well... I took leave and now," I hear her take a pause. "I think I should apply for some other company. Since I got the experience - if only for few days and I even won today's case. I am so excited."

She doesn't sounds so and even Riddhima feels it.

"Did Vansh do something?" I ask my wife's sister hoping to get no. She doesn't answer for a minute and then does.

"Nope. Why?" I relax and watch my wife do too.

"Nothing. I am glad you made that decision. If you want to my company is still there for you." I say looking high as I feel my wife glare at me. "But be aware there will be a proper interview."

"Congratulations, Sanya." Riddhima says interrupting my words and sounding more excited than her. Her excitement seeps through my system making its effect on me too.

We end the call with few gleeful words and I look down at my wife.

"See, you were worried for nothing. Everything will be okay." I nod and bend down to kiss her.

Someone clears their throat just when I am inches away from her face. I look up at mom.

"You are not going to office?" Damn my mom.

"You deluded me with your words?" Riddhima sounds shocked as If I actually did that. "You are leaving right now."

I nod and kissing my wife's forehead make my way towards the door. Just when she comes rushing in front of me.

"Riddhima, what are you doing?" She is pregnant for shouting out loud.

"Have lunch with us and then you can leave." I nod and take a deep breath. At least, after lunch I will be thrown out of my own house.

--------------------

Vansh's POV:

I shouldn't have done that. I shouldn't have talked to her in that way. She did so much for me and my company and I being an ungrateful bastard said such harsh words to her.

"Damn you Vansh, why do you always have to regret about your words after saying it?" I say to my inner conscience.

I look around in my cabin, I have collected all the important things and will leave the day after tomorrow. I call my PI again, and finally the call connects.

"Yes boss." He says with a deep and muffled voice.

"What's the update?" I ask and get up from the seat and walk towards the window. "You said you almost got the..."

"Boss, I think we should discuss about this in personal." I hear him say and yeah, this case already went to court. I shouldn't be trusting anyone. "We can meet tonight at the same place."

"Fine. I will be there." I say disconnecting the call.

Should I apologize to Sanya? After all, She was clearly unaware of the situation that unfolded. Even Mrs. Sharma indicated she assumed that it was what Sanya was referring to. Dialing her number, I wait for her response..

"Hello?" she answers, her tone suggesting surprise.

"Where are you?" I inquire, heading toward the elevator. I can continue this conversation during my drive.

"I suppose this doesn't concern you, but why are you calling?" she replies, nonchalantly.

"I called to apologize." I say, taking a deep breath to steady my nerves. "I shouldn't have said so much. I...I lost control of my emotions when I heard the news, It was unprofessional, and I regret hurting you. You just took care of me, when I was in unwell. I am so thankful to you for that.

I explain, turning on the windshield wipers to clear the rain obscuring my view. There's a pause on the other end. I can almost hear her processing my words.

"I appreciate you saying that," she finally replies, her tone softening. "It was a lot to take in. I didn't expect you saying all that even I wasn't at fault."

"I understand, I am sorry." I say and feel a relieved. "I care about our working relationship, and I want to make sure we're on the same page moving forward,"

Glancing at the road ahead, I bring it to the stop in front of the park. This location is safe.

"Thank you, Vansh. I understand you didn't want that to open." she admits, but her voice seems husky. "But we all have our moments. Let's just move on from this."

"Absolutely," I respond, relief washing over me. "I'll call you later."

"Sounds good," she says, a hint of warmth returning to her voice. "Let's put this behind us."

As we conclude the call, I feel a renewed sense of clarity. Apologizing was the right step, and I'm grateful for her willingness to move forward.

Looking around, I realize I don't have an umbrella. Unfortunately, I have no choice but to step outside.

--------------------

Sanya's POV:

I glance at Sunil and Sejal, who are wrapped in each other's embrace, their heads sheltered beneath a tent. Meanwhile, I find myself soaked, from rain. Sejal has accepted his proposal—my best friend is getting married soon. It's hard to believe.

My thoughts drift back to Vansh. He just apologized to me. The Vansh Raisinghania, known for his formidable presence, took the time to apologize. TO ME.

Not wanting to interrupt their celebration, I head toward my car, which is parked some distance away to avoid raising suspicions with Sejal.

Turning left, I walk out of the area we were in looks like an empty park, but it's not. The silence of the night, accompanied by the gentle rhythm of the rain, amplifies my reflections towards my thoughts, which are filled with all the moments I spent with Vansh.

I remember the countless moments we've shared—how he welcomed me as a legal advisor in his company despite my lack of experience. He took a chance on me when no one else would. I recall how he insisted me to stay at his place and not to go out alone in the middle of that night. He cares for me. I...I felt that. He listened to my concerns regarding his employees, allowing me to voice opinions that others wouldn't dare.

Suddenly, I spot Vansh standing near his car, glancing at his watch. He looks slightly out of place in the downpour, yet there's an unmistakable air of determination about him. My heart races at the sight. I can feel everyone of my emotions flowing through my veins.

Should I just dare to express my feelings towards him? What would go bad at least I won't feel bad that I never said it?

As I approach him, the rain pours down, but my resolve strengthens. "Vansh," I call out, my voice steady despite the weather. He turns, surprised to see me.

"Sanya, what are you doing here this late?" He asks and looks behind me.

"I just wanted to say thank you," I begin, my heart racing. "For everything. Your apology meant a lot to me."

He looks at me intently, and I can see the sincerity in his eyes.

"I've been thinking about all the moments we've shared during the past weeks," I continue, my voice gaining confidence. "You took a chance on me when others wouldn't, and you've gave me a chance to show my work. It's rare to find someone who listens and truly values my opinions."

The rain intensifies, but I'm oblivious to the cold. Vansh's expression softens, and he steps closer, the distance between us closing. "It's ok, I'll always remember how you helped me during this case. I hope we will meet somehow along the way."

Feeling emboldened, I take a deep breath. "I think there's something more here, something I want to say," Letting myself relax to let out the words, I look up at him. "I don't want to ignore the feelings I have for you."

"What are you talking about?" I hear him ask as he says it being dumb.

"I...I have feelings towards you. I like you." I hesitate even on feeling strengthen.

His gaze deepens, and I can see a flicker of surprise in them.
