It was clear to see, if even for a split second, that the cosplayer was surprised by the detective's sudden confidence. It was unexpected to say the least due to his previous situation in a hospital after his tragic fall.. yet still, she was confident.
Every single part of her actions were predicted and calculated to the extremity and even though this was a little shocking, it didn't knock her confidence in the slightest. However, she did need to be on guard as even the roof was calculated and yet he seemed to be unbeatable. Her initial plan was to paint the detective as a person who was drowned in guilt from the previous deaths of the game, and untimely ended his life due to him not being able to continue on any longer, but that hadn't worked so far, he even survived the critical fall.. something was unnervingly unnatural about him, supernatural even, ultimately unaccountable.
"Shuichi, you're.. blinded by him, don't blame yourself, we were.. all tricked, but he showed his true colours a few days ago in fact, and all of us saw him.."
The detective frowned, shooting a quick glance over to Kokichi before returning to Tsumugi, "True colours, what do you mean by that?"
The cosplayer was laughing, cackling to herself on the inside, yet she continued to look all but a little anxious. "H-He.. tried to kill me.."
As soon as the words escaped her mouth, the entire tone of the situation escalated as murmurs around the courtroom began to rise. Shuichi couldn't resist not knowing what was going on and pressed her further for information. "T-Tried to kill you..? No, he wouldn't do that, I believe that he wouldn't."
"You don't know him at all then.. how can you defend someone that you don't even know?" Tsumugi had backed him into a corner due to his own incompetence. When did Kokichi even.. and why didn't he tell him before the trial..? It was kind of an important detail.
"Let us not get distracted, we have a trial to complete here." Kiibo proclaimed, "Now Maki, you raised an interesting point back there, you said that three people need to see the body and then the announcement will sound.."
Shuichi was still shaken up that he lost the argument.. he lost. He was usually so competent and yet he had failed a simple argument as the so called ultimate detective. What was wrong with him?
"Do you want to die? Listen carefully. I meant that either someone is lying to us about not seeing the body thinking that it could pin them as a key suspect or that an accomplice was involved, you better keep up with this." Maki folded her arms once more, answering Kiibo directly.
The robot raised an eyebrow and spoke with a surprised tome to his voice, "Given the circumstance, I can't see if there would be accomplice."
Kirumi tilted her head to the side, cupping her hands together, "Please excuse my questioning, but if only the blackened would escape if we did not discover them, then why would there be an accomplice? Wouldn't having one make the whole ordeal more riskful and even so the accomplice would not escape this school along side the blackened, it seems very one sided for an agreed arrangement.."
"Exactly! We should all listen to Kirumi! Having an accomplice would put them in danger, only a degenerate male would be so stupid." Tenko nodded as she pointed, shouting near to at the top of her lungs.
Ryoma murmured under his breath, just audibly, "I think Maki is correct, but I think it wasn't that the accomplice knowing what was going on at the time, it's last minute and fucking careless unlike Miu's plan, that was well thought out, this was in the moment, in other words the anger took control, that's all I'm gonna say, work it out by yourself."
"But Atua thinks there was only one murderer! What if it was a suicide, that is possibility, no?" Angie hmm'd, raising both of her arms in the air. Kokichi glanced up after remaining silent for the last couple of minutes as he noticed something. He had been listening to the debate and noticed few things that didn't quite make sense.
"Is Atua fluent in bullshit by any chance Angie?~ Cuz I just noticed your story has a few hole in it.. nishishi~" he commanded the trial grounds with his loud and childish tone, but there was an unlaying tone under his voice which was one of accusation, "Your left arm, show it, like right now if you're brave enough.."
Shuichi furrowed his eyebrows at the statement as his mind went into overdrive to think of where Kokichi was going with this. Angie's right arm.. what was so unique about it? Normally her yellow coat covered her arms but was there something unusual about why Kokichi simply interrupted right then since him being so uncharacteristically quiet before. He needed to get back in his investigation mindset. Right arm, what was it? Any sort of accessor- his mind caught up with him.
Angie always wore a bracelet.
Kokichi was a genius..
Angie stuck out her arm with a confused giggle, "Atua is wondering why this is important!" With the flick of her wrist, the supreme leader's theory was confirmed. Angie definitely knew more than she was letting on yet Shuichi was the one to talk first, "Okay, y-you normally wear a bracelet Angie, could you show that to us?"
"Angie! I can't not say this!" An unlikely voice. Tenko took control of the trial grounds, both of her hands on her podium as she reached over it, "Before you think anything, Angie isn't the culprit, she was looking around some vacant rooms on the fourth floor with me but then Korekiyo attempted to attack her with a floorboard, I struck him unconscious with my Neo-Akido and left him there with Angie who was traumatised! Eugh degenerates.. such disgusting creatures..!"
The astronaut waved his arms around, "That would have been useful to know before y'know? We've been going round in goddamn circles. At last we've got somewhere to start!"
Shuichi calmly asked, "Angie, do you have an alibi or were you just too.. traumatised to move?"
OfficialrooMate drew this, ah oh my does Angie look creepy, doesn't she? My my, you really captured that unhinged look.. I love it! So please comment and give this the love that it deserves! Also go follow them!

And with that, the artist broke into a malicious smile, "With Atua, I can do anything because I never feel like I am alone, Atua is always with me nyaahaha!"
"So, the answers no?~" Shuichi and Kokichi we're now working in some sort of tag team to pin her down on her answers, "You have no alibi do you, you Atua freak?~"
"I was unconscious because someone hit me on the back of the head with a floorboard so Atua says that I couldn't have killed Korekiyo, it's impossible!" She chuckled once again, shooting a glance at each of the students individually.
"She was in the same place when I left her but her hands were covered in blood.. degenerates hurting the precious girls.. I won't let them get away with this!"
"Buuuuut Angie, you were left alone with Korekiyo and then you're unconscious?~ Oh ho ho, something isn't adding up, is it Shuichi, you see the crap don't you? A liar knows another liar afterall.." Kokichi chirped in, his eyes widening as he now knew that the game was afoot. "Plus where'd you get the dagger thing from?~"
"Korekiyo brought it with him when he was trying to kill me but then he dropped it and I was so scared I couldn't move, nyahaha.." She used her hands to craft different varieties of hand movements and expressions, but none of them helped to tell anything.
"That's a bundle of crap and you know it, but anyway we gotta think, who's your accomplice? Who's the liar.. and I hate liars.." Kokichi had everyone's attention as he began to talk to himself. He didn't address them for a few more minutes before he finally spoke up.
"Shuichi."
"H-Huh?"
"You said you trusted me, right? You better have not been lying to me.." He trailed off as if his direction for the trial had taken a sudden wrong turn.
"I trust you." But luckily, the detective chose the right set of words and that was all that Kokichi needed. With a flourish he was back completely involved in the trial, "Kaito, you attacked me outside the bathroom, super mean but super weird amiright? You seemed to be in such a hurry.."
"What's that got to do with anythin?" He was on the defence.
"Everything cuz you went to the bathroom to pick up evidence when I was there, right? Something that Angie has left behind.. maybe on the body or something.. but still when I got out the bathroom, you were returning to double check cause paranoia, am I right?~"
Kaito was blatantly stone cold silent but spoke again after what felt like hours of waiting, "..dammit.. damn you.. I believe in everyone so I couldn't let her.. I couldn't let her die, all of you guys are my sidekicks!"
Shuichi's resolve began to crack. This is what Kokichi was asking before, wasn't it? That he should trust him over Kaito because he must be the accomplice..
Yet the liar still continued. "The murder started when Angie was getting attacked by the mask wearing freak during the fight I'm guessing Korekiyo broke Angie's bracelet which fell onto his body or slipped into a pocket.. then Tenko ran in and stopped the fight by disarming Kork, which is super boring.. but when Angie was left alone, she saw her opportunity and reached out to grab something, my guess is the sickle that Korekiyo has brought from his lab.. then she killed him, blood blood everywhere~ But Angie didn't know that Kaito had walked in on her killing korekiyo and then knocked her out with a floorboard which is why Tenko found her in the same place. The next bit is kinda stupid but that's cause Kaito is an idiot.. he dragged Korekiyo to the male's bathroom which created the blood marks in the corridor then tied him with some ropes he found in the bathroom, seriously Monokuma, it's a complete dump, clean it up a little~ But then I came in but you remembered that you didn't double check the body for evidence so you came back in and kicked open the door, right? Did I get it right?~ that's the truth of the case isn't it Angie Yonaga and Kaito Momota?!"
Evadrawstuff1 Yay! We've finally got the Kokichi closing argument headcanon that we've all been waiting for and it was definitely worth the wait. I really do like everything about this, seriously, I mean look at Angie's pose!
............................................................................................................................................................................
Angie only smiled and put her hands together. She soon fell to her needs with a blissful and blessed expression on her face. "Atua! Take me to you, I did what you wanted! Take me to you! Let me see your face! Your supreme beauty!"
"That was.. oddly straight forward.." Kirumi noted, as she watched the Atua obsessed maniac crumble to her knees, "Do you think there is anything we've missed?"
"We've got the murderer so I don't see why there would be a need to discuss any further." Kiibo declared lowly before face the despair filed bear, "So Monokuma, for the execution, who is going to be executed?"
The bear pouted for a few moments, then slowly cackled out, "Only the blackened should be executed but how about we spice things up a little bit?"
"N-no.. they aren't the rules and they've never been, you can't change it up just for the audience!" He couldn't stop and didn't realise until the words had already left his mouth. Monokuma let out a low growl but gave in, "Fine then Mr Detective, this one time I'll let it slip but with the next murderer, I'll be extra strict!"
He could hear from all the way across the room a sigh of relief from the astronaut, who had gripped onto the frame of his podium with both hands. Knowing that he had saved Kaito this time was good enough for him..
"It's time for the Ultimate Artist's punishment! Phuhuhu!"
That same despair filling music flooded through the grounds, as the whole area around them morphed into what looked to be a ceremonial temple.. golden walls, beautiful artwork..
Angie sat simply on her knees with hand nicely folded together in a praying position, glancing up at the ceiling. There was a gentle sounding track in the background with a gentle breeze flooding through the room. All of a sudden, a bright light came shining down from above and Angie immediately stood up to raise her hands towards the sky, "Atua! I knew you'd come for me!"
She began to skip forward but was halted by a rumble emerging from the sky. She took a glance up as a rack of blackened clouds filled her vision. The only light illuminating the hall was far in the distance, and it was her Atua, her god and her beloved and all powerful idol.
What seemed to be sharpened paintbrushes began to fling themselves from each of the darkened clouds like poisoned raindrops, each striking into the ground with traditionally sharpened spear heads. They pinned in canon into the ground with loud clinks, dancing and glistening along the marble surface. Yet Angie didn't fear, her god was going to protect her. She kept pouncing along with fast feet towards the light, moving swiftly and in the most agile fashion.
Her mouth let out an involuntary scream expelling as a large cacophony of sounds as she felt a striking pain reel through her foot. With shaking hands and a fearful smile, she spied the paintbrush which had impaled her skin deep into her foot; blood instantly seeping out of the wound, "I-If Atua wants.. me to s-suffer.." she gritted her teeth and gripped hold of it, forcing her tiny fingers to curl around the handle of it to make sure her grasp was firm. After a mental count of three, she bit her tongue harshly and quickly whipped out the brush, holding it between her teeth in order to muffle her spine wrenching yells.
The light in front her expanded dramatically as a glowing celestial figure emerged from it, presenting itself with open arms. Angie flung herself towards the being but once she made contact with it, her skin began to burn like it was on fire. It began to blister and boil, then twist in the most fantastic of fashions to distort her natural skin tone into a ugly crimson one. "W-Wh.."
"Unworthy!" The being screeched, grabbing her wrist and wrenching it backwards slowly, never halting despite how much the artist pleaded. The burning made it almost insufferable, her blistered skin couldn't deal with the force on her bones.
'craxklck!' She felt something shoot through her insides, mixing her organs and intwizzling her intestines. She couldn't bare to look down as blood poured out of her unhinged jaw.
@random-fandom-bitch did this piece of gory terror! Thanks for this, man I love the black shadows and the pink expulsion of her blood!
......................................................................................................................................................................................................
"A-Ah..HHAhahahhhhhh!" She stumbled and screamed, pushing away from the mystical being, only to stumble into the path of a giant paintbrush, triple her size. It was positioned like giant pillar, it towered over her and loomed.. then fell, then crushed.
All that was left of the artist was the flattened skin of her corpse and countless shattered fragments of white bone all engulfed in a deep pool of her own murky, crimson blood..
