BACKGROUND: qingmei was born in hangzhou and spend her life there together with her two parents and her older brother jufeng, until they decided to move to shanghai due to work related reasons. she never was interested in singing in any way before and just discovered her secret talent when her friends carried her along to a karaoke bar once. then, she slowly got more ambitious about singing and joined the choir at her school to develop her skills. her brother always told her how weird she was for making sure not to miss a single practice even when she was sick. together with some of her choir friends, she also formed an all female band named serife with her being the main vocalist. they occasionally performed their self written songs on the streets and one day, a scout noticed their performance and invited her to an addition, leading her to soon be a member of the group SUNSET.
