Part VII: Crescendo

i. March (What is Love?)
The shadow of flight
bruising the ground only just—
just, please, let them pass.

ii. April
Spring marches—freezing,
gatling rain. League of Flora:
forth, raise your banners!

iii. May
I am named for that
which all things carry with them,
beautiful, and good:

iv. June
Flowers are cautious
with stubborn, fitful winters;
they bloom in bits, too.

v. July (solo travelling)
I measured my days
between the hill and the sea
with warm tea and song.

vi. August (incoming storm)
The folded clouds swelled;
and the budding sunset pressed
against the pink dusk.
