return of the jedi
Ach-To was the location Luke was hiding out on, according to the map. Rey, Chewbacca, R2-D2, and I piled into the Falcon. We were off.
Rey and I traveled up the steps to the top by ourselves. She and I were lost in our own thoughts. Silence took over the trek. I counted nearly six hundred steps before Rey slowed, walking beside me.
"We lost Han," she said quietly.
"I figured," I sighed. "How?"
"Ren stabbed him through the chest with his lightsaber."
I shook my head. "A death he didn't deserve."
"Through this training, we'll honor him," encouraged Rey.
"About this training..." I started slowly, "I have lied to you since the moment I met you on Jakku, Rey. I am not a Jedi. I'm far from it. I've been hiding behind the Jedi persona to repel others and stay in the shadows."
"If you're not a Jedi, how have you been using the Force?" she asked.
"I try not to. When I can't control it, I'm lost. I've done unspeakable things because of it."
"You never learned."
I paused to help her on a cliff ledge. She pulled me to the top. We continued walking, searching, for some sign of a living space.
"No one was able to teach me. Then, I found..." I paused. I nudged Rey's arm. "Luke."
Together, we hustled across the landscape. At a comfortable point, we stopped. Rey retrieved the lightsaber, his lightsaber, from her satchel.
Luke turned. His eyes became hard when he noticed the lightsaber.
I raised my brow at him. I was ready for a challenge; a new adventure, in which, I wouldn't be afraid anymore.
