3. The Touch
Anna was back from her delivery duty. As she entered inside, she saw her mother writing down something again and sighed inwardly thinking that her mother was writing down another address for delivery.
"Where to deliver this time?" She asked as she made her way to her mother.
"Oh no dear, there's no more order now. I was just jotting some ideas for the new menu card." Her mother answered under her beautiful smile. "I'm planning to make it a bit fancier and attractive."
"Finally you have decided to change the menu card." Anna couldn't help but spit it out. "C' mon let me help you with the ideas."
They spent hours deciding the ideas for the menu card and also did their works in the middle of it. By the time they were done with the ideas, it was already at the ripe of the afternoon and telephone started ringing on the reception table and orders kept ringing in.
"It's already lunchtime. It's time for delivery." Sofia said glancing at the watch on her wrist. She started noting orders and addresses down on the notepad as she listened over the call. After the call, she placed the order into the kitchen. The orders kept coming one after the other and at the same time, the customers kept coming in.
Anna strolled inside the kitchen and marched towards a middle-aged man who was busy cooking. "Do you need any help with the cooking, Mr Lee?" Anna asked glancing around the kitchen where the chefs were busy cooking the orders.
"No dear, it's fine." Mr Lee answered and gave her a warm smile.
Mr Lee is a Korean citizen who is the head chef of their restaurant. He has been working with her mother for the past five years. He is blessed with a beautiful and loyal wife, Jennifer and two beautiful children, Suzy (six years old) and Kevin (four years old).
"Anna, Your mother is looking for." One of the waiters informed her as he rolled in with the trolley of dirty dishes.
"Oh yes, I have a delivery duty to do."
"Ride safely, my dear."
"I will."
Anna made out her way to the reception to where her mother was.
"Anna, please deliver these orders to these addresses,"
"Right away, mom," Anna said animatedly and went off with the bags of orders to do her delivery duty.
Minutes passed, lunchtime was nearly over and the restaurant inside cooled down and there were few customers around. Sofia glanced around at the customers and her eyes caught at one table, table no. 8. There were three gentlemen in well expensive suits who were smoking inside while it was clearly shown in the board hanging on the wall that smoking was not allowed in here. She glanced around and noticed that the other customers were having problems with them. She was about to go towards that table but was distracted when Jasmine came in and called her.
"Mom, I'm here. Where's Anna?"
"She's out with the deliveries," Sofia answered but her eyes never leaving the sight at table no.8. Jasmine snapped her head to where her mother was glaring and her expression turned stoned.
"Smoking is not allowed in here. Are those people blind? Can't they see the huge postcards hanging around?" Jasmine poured under gritted teeth. "I'm going to remind them." She trudged heavily towards table no.8 but her mother quickly stopped her by her arm.
"I'll talk with the gentlemen; you go and look over the reception," Sofia said quickly leaving no space for arguments. Jasmine didn't say anything and silently went towards the reception. Right after she sat on the reception, she heard the entrance door being pushed, snapping her head towards it, she saw four tall and handsome gentlemen strolling in, coming towards her direction.
Good heavens, where the hell did those hot and handsome gentlemen come from? She thought.
"I hope we're at the right restaurant!" Nicolo said as he glances around.
"Excuse miss," Roberto addresses to Jasmine. Jasmine, who was hungrily drooling over them, quickly shook from her reverie and respond to them.
"Yes handsome, may I help you?" she gave them her sweet smile.
Roberto gave her an amused smiled and rested his arms on the reception table, "Do you know how many Korean restaurants are available in this town?" he asked.
"This is the only Korean restaurant available in this town," Jasmine answered, her excited smile never leaving her face.
"Then we are in the right place." Alesso smiled to himself. They went and settled at one corner and soon they were received by a waiter to take their orders.
"May I take your orders, gentlemen?" the waiter asked in a most courteous way.
"One serve of bulgogi-" Roberto said as he scanned the menu.
"Me too," Alesso said.
"Make that two then," Roberto said while the waiter was busy noting down the orders. "Leo, Nicolo, what are you planning to eat?"
"I'll have bibimbap, kimchi stew with pork belly, Gimbap-"
"Piccolo-will you be able to store all this in your tiny stomach?" Leo asked feeling amused at his little brother.
"That's it then, I'll have only that three serves." Nicolo gave a tight lip smile looking at the waiter and closed the menu card. He wanted to order more but his brother was right, he has only one stomach to fill all this food.
I'll come here tomorrow again and eat other menus. He made a note to himself.
"One serves of pork steak for me. That's it." Leo said as he closed the menu card.
"Any drinks sir!"
"Is lemonade available?"
"Yes, sir."
"Make that four."
"Okay sir, your orders will be served soon." As the waiter turned on his heels, Alesso excused to him.
"Do you know where Anna is?" He asked making his brothers looked at him confusedly while Leo frowned over.
"Yes, she's out with the deliveries."
"Okay, thank you."
The waiter bowed at them before turning on his heels.
"Who's Anna?" Roberto asked raising an eyebrow at Alesso.
"A beautiful lady I met in the morning. She was the one who delivered the food this morning."
"Don't make yourself vulnerable that will be the only thing I'll advise you. Get that inside your dickhead." Roberto warned smirking playfully at his brother. "Love is something people like us can't have unless you want her life to be in danger."
"I know. It's not like I have fallen in love with her, I just found her beautiful, and that's it." Alesso retorted giving him a cheeky grinned.
"That's the first step of falling in love," Roberto remarked.
"You mean you've fallen in love before." Alesso pointed out, raising an eyebrow at him.
"Heard it from sources." Roberto shrugged off.
"Ah-there's the smell of cigarettes all around," Nicolo complain and drifted his head beside their table from where the sources were coming. His face turned cold as he took notice of those gentlemen.
"Smoking cigarettes in public and fucked whores in private. They never learn. Shall I take care of them?" Roberto looked at Leo for his permission.
"No, let them have their moment, who knows this might be their last day to enjoy," Leo smirked staring the three gentlemen. The three gentlemen didn't notice them since they were busy drinking and smoking.
"Fucking drunkard assholes." Alesso cursed glaring at them. "If it wasn't for Nonno, I would have killed them long before."
"Don't forget, they work for us. They've been very loyal to our Nonno after giving them second chance. If Nonno finds out that you all are still having grudges, he will not be happy." Nicolo reminded his brothers and lazily turned his attention to his other side and gazed at the street. "Everyone makes a mistake." He sighed and simply kept himself busy staring at the streets.
"Well, I'm impressed. Is he really our little brother?" Roberto teased giving him an amused look.
"He's all grown up. I wonder how your little dick is doing. Is he growing up as well?" Alesso teased and together with Roberto, they started laughing at their little brother while Leo simply chuckled and shook his head. Nicolo simply rolled his eyes over and ignored them and looked back at the street. But as he did, his eyes caught up on a beautiful lady who was passing by the restaurant.
"Lei è Bella!" Nicolo exclaimed as he widely smiled staring through the window span. The three brothers snapped their attention to him and then looked through outside.
"She's very beautiful," Roberto said absentmindedly staring at the lady walking by.
"I know right! Her name is Anna." Alesso said feeling amused. Besides him, Leo bit back a smile at his brothers' talks.
Anna was back from her delivery works and right as she entered, Jasmine was by her sides in an instant and tugged her hands-on her arms.
"Tell me everything!" Jasmine squealed in excitement and wiggled her eyebrows.
Confused at her sister reaction, Anna gave her a blank expression. "What are you talking about?"
"Look at your 9 o'clock at the corner, those guys were asking for you. James told me." Jasmine said. Anna turned her head towards that direction and saw Leo and Alesso facing her way and the other two guys whose back were facing at her. "Do you know them?"
"No, I don't know them. I just happen to deliver a parcel at their mansion this morning and that's when they asked for my name and I told them." Anna explained. But then her attention caught around when she smelled a strong odor. "Someone's smoking!" she said under her sniff and looked around for the sources, then her attention caught at the table beside the four brothers, table no.8.
"Mom has already told them not to smoke inside but they never listen." Jasmine scowled glaring at them. "You don't know how much I want to smack those gentlemen but mom warned me not to do anything." She pouted.
"Where's mom?"
"She went out for some works."
"That's better."
Anna took a glass from the table and half-filled the glass with water and marched towards them. As she was a few feet away from the gentlemen, Leo took noticed of her. He stared at her blank expression and then to her hand, he predicted what she was about to do. He stood up from his position, took a few steps towards her and stopped in front of her. Anna, who didn't notice the quick movement of Leo, crashed her head on his hard chest and nearly fell back on the ground but Leo quickly wrapped his large hand around her back and stopped her from falling. Anna's free hand involuntarily came around at the back of his neck. Jasmine involuntarily covers her mouth and gasped in excitement as she watched the scene going on between her little sister and the handsome stranger. While on the other side, Roberto, Alesso, and Nicolo watched their brother in utter shocked. Never in their life had they seen Leo laying a hand on a woman, except their mother and aunt.
"Did he just catch her in his arm?" Alesso asked, still shocked.
"He just did," Roberto answered staring at them with wide eyes opened.
"She touched him. Leo hates being touch. He would never let any women touch him or he will kill them, even if it was a mistake." Nicolo said with his eyes wide open in shock. "Poor girl!" He waited for his brother to pull out a gun and shoot at her but that never happened.
"Yes, Leo hates being touch, Nicolo. But he will never harm any women unnecessarily." Alesso told him with an amused smiled.
"But you said that Leo had killed three women who had mistakenly touched him back then."
"We were just fooling you around, dear little brother. You're so stupid. You thought Leo would actually do that!" Roberto laughed at him. "He's still a kid, Alesso." Roberto and Alesso laughed at him and attempt to high fived each other over the table but Nicolo quickly swapped their hands away and scowled at them. They couldn't stop laughing at their brother.
"And these whole time I believed in what you said. Wait until I complain about both of you to Leo." He scowled and turned his attention to his eldest brother.
Leo took the glass of water from her with his free hand and looked back at her. "Not a smart idea." He said twirling the glass between their faces. Anna didn't say anything, she simply straightened up and pushed him but he didn't budge, not even a slightest. Leo involuntarily took a step back and stared down at her. "Are you really planning to pour the water over those gentlemen?"
"No, I was planning to soak their cigarettes in it," Anna answered honestly. Leo was trying his best not to laugh at her answer.
"Don't you have an ashtray?" He asked, fighting his best to hide the amusement in his voice.
"No! We didn't find it necessary to have it because smoking is not allowed here." She stated as a matter of fact. Leo took in her answer and turned around, strolling towards the gentlemen. He kept the glass of water on their table drawing their attention to him. The gentlemen, on noticing him beside them quickly stood up from their placed and bowed down courtly at him.
"Boss!"
"Gentlemen, can you tell me what sign is that in the postcard over there?" Leo asked as he pointed his hand to his left at the wall.
"No smoking sign, boss." One of the gentlemen answered.
"And what is that between your fingers?" Leo asked as he gestured the cigarettes on their hands making them cringed and looked down on the floor. "You are causing inconvenience to the customers around."
"We're sorry, Boss."
"Now get those fucking cigarettes in it." He sneered gesturing to the glass of water on the table. Without wasting a second, they quickly soaked their cigarettes in it. "Enjoy your lunch, cazzi."
Leo retreated back to his table. Anna, who was still standing in her former position, watched Leo as he made his way to his table and was caught staring when Leo looked into her eyes. Her heartbeat skipped faster when those icy blue eyes turned into an intense stare. She quickly looked away from him and involuntarily tugged some strands of hair at the back of her ear in a lady-like manner. She could feel the heat rushed in her chubby cheeks and facepalmed it and quickly turned around on her heel to avoid his stares.
Leo noticed her blushing under his intense stare and bit back a smile before drifting his attention to his brothers.
Roberto, Alesso, and Nicolo sat there silently as Leo darted between them, giving them the look try-teasing-me-and-you're-dead. They know better not to tease him with any women.
"Did you all see a ghost?" Leo deadpanned, but there was a tad of amusement in his tone. His brothers released a sharp breath in unison which they didn't know they were holding back.
"Worse than a ghost!" Alesso remarked. "You caught her and she touched you. Did you feel anything?" Alesso couldn't help but tease him though he knows that he'll receive a death glare from his brother.
"No!"
"Did you-" Alesso's word died midway when Leo glared at him and gave him a look of 'continue-teasing-and-I'll-hang-you-upside-down.'
"Ah-I'm dying out of hunger." Nicolo voiced crackly trying to get out from that silent treatment and right on cue, James rolled out from the kitchen with their orders and served it on their table.
"Enjoy your lunch, sir," James said before turning away with the empty trolley.
