15. The Arguments

After dropping Anna, Roberto rode back home directly. He parked his car on the cement driveway in front of the entrance and got off from the car. Some of the maids came and took the vegetable bags inside. Two of his bodyguards strolled towards him.

"Where are they?" Roberto asked.

"They are in the basement." One of the men answered.

"Did you inform the Underboss?"

"Not yet, Sir."

"We'll be down there in a minute. Take care of those two bastards." He ordered the men before turning on his heels. Instead of heading to his room, he strolled towards Leo's office. He knew that he would find him there.

"I bet you're late, Leo. They already know." Roberto said as he strolled inside his office. Leo's back was on him, his hands shoved in his black pant and he was staring outside through the window. Leo turned his head towards him and furrowed his eyebrows at him.

"What do you mean?" He asked quietly but in a deep voice.

"Come with me!"

Leo gave him a nod and followed his brother behind.

They both went down the basement. Leo stood there expressionless and stared at the two men in front of me. The two men were at a conscious state but they were badly beaten up by his people. One of the men cringed in fear at the sight of him while the other one glared at him.

"Where did you get those Sylvester's bastards?" Leo turned his eyes towards his brother and asked lazily.

"At the Mall. They were after Anna." Roberto answered.

Leo snapped his head and glared at them. He pulled out his gun from his waistband and strolled dangerously towards them and Roberto followed suit.

"Why were you both after the girl?" He growled. He waited for some seconds but didn't receive any response from them. "Answer me!" He growled louder.

"To fuck her." The other man sneered glaring up at him. Without wasting a second, Leo put a hole right through his forehead.

"You!" Leo pointed drifting his gun towards the man. "Answer me or I'll let you join your fellow mate." He said gesturing towards the dead body.

"Please don't kill me, I'll tell you." The man begged for his life as he cowered in fear. "The boss ordered us to bring the girl to him."

"Why?"

"I don't know." Leo pressed the gun on the forehead and urged him to tell the truth. "I'm telling the truth. I don't know why the boss ordered us to bring her to him." he cried out in a hurry. "We were just following orders." he cried in terror.

Leo sighed deeply but annoyed. "I believe you," He said before pulling the trigger. "Take care of these bodies." He commanded two of his men and turned towards the exit.

"Where is she now?" Leo asked as they made their way up the stairs.

"Don't worry; she's at the restaurant now. I dropped her and ordered some of our men to keep an eye on her." Roberto informed.

"Good!"

"So—"

"So what?"

"Are you going to continue avoiding her?" Roberto jerked an eyebrow at him as he asked. Leo didn't respond. He simply ignored him and continued walking. "Are you planning to avoid me as well?" Roberto asked playfully and scurried forward to balance with his brother's steppings.

"Wish I could." Leo deadpanned but with an amused toned. "Ask your men, where Anna is right now," Leo said.

"Oh—you're going to her." Roberto raised a teasing eyebrow at him.

"Just do as I say!" Leo glared at him.

"Right away!"

Roberto took out his phone and dialled on one of his men's number and put it on his ear. After a ring or two, his man picked up his call.

"Where is she right now?" "What!" "Okay." He said and hung up.

"What happened?"

"She's here!" and right on cue, the doorbell rings, making them snapped their heads towards the door. They saw Nicolo running through the hallway excitedly to receive the door. And as Nicolo flew opened the door, Anna's beautiful sight came to view. A small smile escapes Leo's lips as he stared at her from afar.

"Anna, thank you very much for the delivery," Nicolo said as he handed the money and took the food parcel from her hand. Leo and Roberto stood at their position and watched them.

"No problem, Nicolo. It was my duty." Anna grinned at him.

"Why don't you come in and rest for a while?" Nicolo offered.

"Oh no, Nicolo." She rejected politely. "I still have some deliveries to do right now. Maybe next time." Anna's eyes glanced over behind Nicolo and saw Leo and Roberto staring at her. Roberto gestured a hand-wave at her and smiled to which she smiled back at him but as her eyes fell next to him, she quickly looked away and ignored. "Enjoy the food, Nicolo. See you again." She said in a hurry and scurried away from the place.

"I'll come to see you tomorrow," Nicolo shouted at her back and waved with a grin. He closed the door and turned only to see his brothers staring at him. "I'm not sharing to anyone." He grasped the parcel closely over his stomach, protecting it from his brothers.

"If you share it to me, I'll take you there tomorrow. It will be my treat. You can have whatever you want." Alesso bargained as he came from the hallway and joined his brothers.

"Really! You sure you won't take back your words later." Nicolo narrowed his eyes at him.

"I won't," he assured.

"Stop this childishness!" Leo chided seriously. "What did I tell you guys?

"I'm sorry, Leo but I was craving for Korean food so much," Nicolo said quietly and looked down at the floor. "But I promise I'll not order again. This is my last. I like Anna so much, I will never put her life in danger."

"We know, Nicolo." Roberto smiled and strolled toward him. "No harm done, she was here as a delivery woman." He rested his hand around his little brother's shoulder and rubbed gently. "But you both have to know something," Nicolo glanced at his brother and frowned. "The Sylvester's men were after her today."

"What!" Alesso and Nicolo exclaimed in unison.

"We didn't even start getting to know her well and there are already after her." Alesso scowled under gritted teeth. "Why don't we just extinct the Sylvester's from this earth once and for all."

"Are you sure that they were after her just because she seems to be close to us?" Nicolo asked thoughtfully.

"We don't know!" Roberto sighed beside him.

"Whatever reason it is, I don't care. But now that the Sylvester's are after Anna, we have to protect her." Alesso uttered. "What do you say, Underboss?"

"Keep aside about that matter, we have bigger things in our hand to handle," Leo said expressionlessly. "We came here to search for someone, don't forget that. We're still on our search mission." He reminded them solemnly.

"But Leo, Anna's life is in danger now because of us." Alesso pressed.

"We don't know the reason." Leo deadpanned.

"I don't care! I'll protect her."

"You'll make it more obvious to those bastards that you care for her." Leo sneered at him.

"Not for me, unless it's you!" Alesso pointed out in a bad-tempered and turned on his heels towards the entrance.

"Where the hell are you going?" Leo shouted at his back.

"I'm going to Anna." He answered over his shoulder.

"You will not go to her," Leo growled. "We never know what their next motive might be. What if they get to you?"

"Leo's right, Alesso," Roberto spoke. "If they get any of us, then it will not be a good omen."

"I can take care of myself."

"We know but we can't risk it." Leo deadpanned.

"Then what about Anna's life, we can't risk her life either." Alesso seethed but calmly.

"We'll command some of our men to keep an eye on her," Leo said and left no room for arguments. He then turned on his heels and walked away from the common hall.

"I can't trust our men. I'll keep an eye on her in my own way." Nicolo said.

"What do you mean?" Roberto asked.

"Don't worry, I'm not going to her." Nicolo reply before lazily walking away into the kitchen.

"I like her," Alesso stated looking at Roberto. "And I want to protect her."

"We're protecting her."

"By staying away from her!"

"Yes, it's best for both. If we stop seeing her, the Sylvesters might leave her alone." Roberto said quietly.

"I doubt. If they try another attempt to take her, I'm not staying behind." Alesso said under the clenched jaw.

"I like her too," Roberto said amusedly looking at his brother. "Do you think we stand a chance over Leo?"

"No!" Alesso snapped. "Do you even have to ask?"

"Both of you are still here." Leo echoed as he walked through the hallway. He was dressed formally in a white shirt beneath a black suit.

"You're all dressed. Attending a party?"

"No, got some business meeting with a client. Alvaro found some source to contact with the Ace of Spades. I'm heading to Fairfield beach road." He informed making Alesso to scowled over at him. "Why are you giving me that look, Alesso?" Leo jerked an eyebrow at him and asked.

"I thought we have bigger things to handle," Alesso crossed his arms over his chest and reminded him.

"Yes, we have!"

"Then why are you wasting your time looking for someone we don't need?"

"We need her!"

"For what?"

"Do you want Anna to be safe?"

"Yes, I do!"

"I'm gonna deal with The Spades to protect Anna."

"What if they don't agree?"

"Don't worry, I have my ways," Leo said cockily. "See you later." He nodded at his brothers and walked pass them towards the entrance.

"Will you be okay? I can accompany you and back up." Roberto called behind his back.

"Don't worry, I'll be careful." He said over his shoulder before continued to walk away.

Always Smile,

Happy Virus.
