In an old kingdom named Troparem, a young Queen and King had been ruling for ten years when they suddenly abandoned their seats of power and ran away. They left the reins of power to their young children and the former King and Queen who had stepped away from power long ago.

The young royal children would be raised as normal royalty with accelerated studies, since their grandparents would need to have one of them take control as soon as possible. The royal children were seen as hope for the people of Troparem after their parents had run away, since their parents had caused so much trouble for the country.

They were watched closely by the public as they grew up, a sense of nervousness and doubt lingering after their parents had abandoned everything. What if they turned out to be just like their parents and ruin everything for the country again? What if they were rebellious and destroyed everything? What if, what if, what if?

The royal children grew older and older and one day their grandparents announced that they would be performing an ancient and long forgotten tradition to marry the royal children off. The King and Queen hoped that the marriage of the common folk to their grandchildren would silence any people who thought that the children would take after their parents and run off. The Troparemian people were very excited to see this kind of contest with their fellow not royals competing for the Princess and Prince's hands in marriage. During the application period, the number of applications turned in on the first day was almost half of the eligible young people.
