"Get up." Her playful wake up from yesterday is gone. I sensed something was wrong and immediately got out of bed, ignoring the cramp I got in my tail.

"What's happening? " I ask. She swam down the hall, ignoring my question. I followed her, despite the pain that came from the crick in my tail. I wanted to find out what was so important that Anarkra was acting like this. Besides, when Anarkra tells you to do something, you do it.

She led me into a large, bare, underground,stone room. She turned around to face me. "I don'thave much time to explain this,so listen up. All sea witches have goddess given abilities, right? "She asked and I nodded." Usually we have more time to figure out what those abilities are, but the Sea Witch High Council has a mission for you and have demanded to out find them straight away." 

" What's the mission ?" I asked nervously. Anarkra just glared at me and continued.

"So let's start with the basic questions. Do you have any affiliations with a particular element? " I shook my head. " Well I know you have no singing powers according to your school records, but have you any talent with making things or hearing the tides?"She continues and I shook my head, confused. " Good at persuading people or reading them?" She queries. 

" Well, I can stop people from reading my mind and sometimes even read their thoughts or memories..." I trailed off. She wrote it down on the piece of paper she was holding, using her tail as a table.

" Okay, the next one I want you to try is fighting." She states and swims to the fighting mat in the middle of the room. 

"What?!" I exclaimed.I didn't want to fight Anarkra. She might look old but she had a wiry strength. I had a feeling she'd wipe the floor with me if I tried to fight her. After all, she didn't make it into the High Council for nothing.

" This one I need you to participate in. What are you waiting for? Get on the mat."

I reluctantly swam to the mat and she immediately charged me. Startled, I just floated there. In a flash of light, I ended up on the other side of the mat." Well that's interesting. "Anarkra said vaguely as she wrote something down.

 "What just happened?!" I demanded. 

" You teleported, which is interesting, but I still need to know if you have any fighting gifts." I nodded, still not completely comprehending what she had said.

She came at me again but this time I was ready for her.It seemed like time slowed down and I was able to think clearly, the way it always did when I got on the mat prepared. I dodged her blow, and using her momentum against her I grabbed her arm and twisted it around and she fell to the mat. Straight away, I pinned her, down not allowing her to get up. I didn't know where the burst of strength had come from.

" Okay you can get off me now." Anarkra groaned. I did and she breathed a sigh of relief. "I think it's fair to say you have an affinity for fighting. " She finished as she wrote something down on her piece of  paper. " Now what?" I asked. 

"We train you to be ready for your mission. " Anarkra said.
