11. Nervous
There was something definitely wrong with the way Bokuto had seen Akaashi before.
He wasn't quiet anymore.
In fact, he was so loud that he had to use a pillow to muffle himself as he cried. No this wasn't sexual but rather him having a headache. Bokuto had tried medicine and tried hugs. He had even tried to put on music and turned it off when Akaashi started getting worse.
Akaashi had been crying for two hours now with a headache and it was starting to get late.
"Keiji I can't help if you keep pushing me away from you. What do you need?"
Akaashi whimpered, rocking. "It just hurts so bad!"
Bokuto rubbed his eyes, defeated. "I'll be back." Bokuto went down the hall to his parents room and opened the door. "Mom? Mom, I need your help really quick."
She sat up, huffing. "I was about to be asleep."
"I'm sorry. Keiji is having a really bad headache or he's having a panic attack and I can't tell the difference at the moment."
She got up and went to Bokuto's room where Akaashi was still trying to quiet himself. She sat on the bed by him and hugged him from the side, easing him onto her. "Hey... what's got you upset so late at night? Hm?"
"My head hurts..."
"Have you tried medicine?"
"Mhmm."
"Ah. Kotarou go get me some cold water."
Bokuto walked downstairs and by the time he was back Akaashi had stopped crying and was just holding onto Bokuto's mother. "You feeling better?"
Akaashi sniffled, just taking the water.
"Your head still hurts, doesn't it?"
"Mhmm..."
"Here, let me put on white noise." Bokuto put some headphones on Akaashi and turned it on. Akaashi immediately relaxed and closed his eyes.
Bokuto's mother sat Akaashi up slowly and eased him towards Bokuto. "Here we go. Go ahead and try to go to sleep."
Akaashi clung to Bokuto before Bokuto laid down and held him to his chest, covering them both. "You okay now?"
"I think I heard a siren..."
"Like technology or the people?"
"The people. They would not be quiet." Akaashi sniffled. "My whole body ached and it felt like someone was trying to hurt me on purpose."
"Good God Keiji. Let's keep these on you at night so you will be okay, okay?"
"Mhmm." Akaashi burrowed into Bokuto's chest and sniffled. "Just don't leave me. Please."
"Wasn't planning on it hot stuff." Bokuto rubbed his back slowly. "I'm right here."

Oikawa looked up from picking up dishes and smiled. Akaashi was standing at the doors, staring at him. Oikawa walked over and opened the door. "What's with the staring new guy?"
"I wanted to ask about where to buy a phone or get a job."
"Where's Bokuto?"
"He's with his mother today."
"Oh. Here, come in. We're closing up for the day."
"I thought you closed at seven forty five?"
"Not on thursdays. On Thursdays Daichi asks us to close early so that he can go visit his partner."
"So early?"
"He lives two hours away. Poor guy needs his weekly visit." Oikawa took off his apron. "Why do you want to get a job so suddenly? And you don't have a phone?"
"No, I have no phone. Or job."
"I have an old phone if you want it," Oikawa offered.
"I can't just accept it, phones are very expensive-"
"Oh hush, take it. It's not that big of a deal. I've got a bunch of old ones because of my parents and I'd love to give you one."
"I still need a job."
"Daichi! We could use another server, right?!"
Daichi looked up from the host stand. "I guess. Why, are you looking for a job?"
Akaashi nodded. "I didn't know where else to go since Kotarou isn't home and Kuroo hates me."
"Kuroo hates you?"
"Yes. I'm not sure why since I haven't done anything but he hates me."
Oikawa chuckled nervously. "Let's just say Bokuto isn't very kind."
"He is incredibly kind. He told me that he even feels bad for accidentally leading him on when he thought everything was platonic. He struggles with platonic and romantic feelings. I don't think he would ever hurt someone like that on purpose." Akaashi looked towards Daichi. "Please don't tell me that you think he's awful too. He is so kind, he would never hurt someone on purpose."
"I'm not interested in all the drama."
Akaashi looked back at Oikawa, worried. "Do you think he's trying to be mean to Kuroo so he can be nice to me?"
"Well..."
"I'm sorry, I need to go." Akaashi turned towards the door. He opened it and realized it was both about to rain and that the air immediately made him feel sick. Not again.
Akaashi plugged his ears with his fingers and rushed outside and back to Bokuto's home. He got the headphones he needed and grabbed Bokuto's laptop. He got the white noise going and relaxed.
Why were there so many sirens lately? He had been safe and wasn't going to the beach or even the aquarium in fear that they would hear or see him.
Were they calling for them or was he being tormented?
Bokuto's mother walked into the room some time after he had gotten settled and smiled. "Hey Keiji. Do you mind feeding Junpei so I can take a nap?"
"I don't mind." Akaashi took the little boy in his arms and was given his bottle.
"Make sure that when you're done you lean him forward and pat his back to burp him."
"Yes ma'am."
"Thank you."
Akaashi nodded and slipped the bottle between Junpei's lips. He nearly chugged down the bottle and Akaashi just sat with him, alarmed. "You're so hungry."
Junpei started to cry and fuss so Akaashi eased the bottle back in place. The bottle was empty in no time and Akaashi leaned Junpei forward, patting his back. Junpei burped and spit up a bit. Akaashi wiped it away and held him against his chest.
Babies on land were so precious.
Akaashi noticed his light brown eyes and smiled. He had the same eyes as Bokuto did and dark hair. He himself was darker just like Bokuto and he so precious. His little arms and legs stayed scrunched up and he was incredibly small. Akaashi chirped at him and Junpei's eyes widened.
"It's a sweet sound little one. Don't worry."
Akaashi stood slowly and walked downstairs, putting his bottle in the sink. He got himself a packet of crackers, slowly getting used to solid food.
Junpei slept in his arms as he walked around. It took him a while to settle down and pick somewhere to sit but when he did he was perfectly comfortable. Junpei didn't cry or anything either, relaxed against Akaashi's chest.
