Chapter 57- Journal Of A Villain

(Author's Note: The following takes place entirely as the pages of KrakenKid's journal. That's it. Enjoy.)

KrakenKid('s Journal)

To whoever it may concern, which it doesn't concern anyone except me, you are now reading the journal of KrakenKid, leader and founder of the Tide Changers, the ultimate rival to Atlantis, The Cody Maverick and everyone with them.

If you are reading this right now, chances are you aren't me and I highly advise you to get out right now or I will empty ten containers of my ammo into you before you can spell "I'm Sorry" out loud. If you don't know, one container has ten bullets, so that would be one hundred bullets that all will be fired right at you, and I won't miss.

Now, if you have gotten this far, you are either me or an idiot.

That's it for the title page.

P.S- Blooper has informed me that I should state that not everyone who is allies with The Cody Maverick is our enemy given Sneaky Selena is not a threat. How he got his hands on this book his beyond me but he only seems to have read this page so at least there's that.

Entry 1- May 5th

Dear Journal,

Darrel has forced me to create a journal, insisting that it'll help to "Write my feelings out" for some reason.

I think it's a stupid idea but since I'm not exactly in the right mood for perfect and unimpaired judgement right now, I figured I might as well give it a try.

I have been having nightmares.

That's it.

Happy Darrel?

~KrakenKid

Entry 2- May 6th

Dear Journal,

Darrel was not happy with my entry and said, and I quote, "I put no effort into it" which is ridiculous.

But, knowing him, he's going to keep pestering me until I actually write something that might "Help me heal" another crazy thing he keeps telling me, so here I go.

I keep having nightmares, but they don't normally start off nightmares. They start off like all my other dreams do: Pretty random and confusing. I had one where I go to a carnival and spend the day with Darrel treating me like I'm his son. In another, CannibalCrab was a female for some reason and we had a typical girly sleepover where he talked about the boys she liked, we gossiped about other people and watched a chick flick, which oddly enough, it was pretty fun and made me want to have a sleepover. There was even one where I ruled Atlantis but for some reason, I only got there by marrying Joe?

While it was all strange, it always ends the same way, every single time.

Cody always appears in my dreams and one way, or another, he drives that forsaken sword through my stomach and I wake up in cold sweat.

Darrel and the guards are getting nervous and lucky for me, Cannibal hasn't found out and Blooper sleeps until the afternoon so neither of them are getting on my back about it, but it's just so weird.

It's been at least a month since it all happened, why haven't I gotten over it?

I'm pretty sure I'm over it, but now I'm starting to think maybe I'm not?

Dang it Darrel! Why did you think this was a good idea?

~KrakenKid

Entry 7- July 6th

Dear Journal,

My last couple entries have all been of the dreams I've been having, all of which end the same, but because I don't want this to become a dream journal, I figured I might as well write about what's been going on.

Lately, CannibalCrab has been acting strange around Merril, leading me to believe somethings.

He keeps requesting to do missions with her, helping her with her duties even though she doesn't need the help, and keeps hanging around her. There isn't a doubt in my mind that he's in love with her.

I haven't said anything yet just in case I make him freak out, but I'm keeping a watchful eye on him. It's pretty entertaining really. He keeps flirting, but when she sees it as a friendly compliment, he instantly pretends that's what it was. Lucky for him, Merril is a little thick in the world of love, so she doesn't notice. I do fear that he's going to get his heart broken beyond repair and be unable to recover, but at the same time I can't seem to give any warning. I haven't ever seen him love anyone before, I don't really want to ruin it for him.

Though, I guess I'm not really one to give love advice. I haven't been able to compel myself to get back out there since her...

That's enough for today

~KrakenKid

Entry 9- August 1st

Dear Journal,

Blooper has made a new friend. One I am... Skeptical about to say the least.

An Atlantean, goes by the name Sneaky Selena. I somewhat remember her and her sister. Very nice tunnels, perfect for getting into Professor Pickle's lab.

Being an Atlantean is bad enough, but I met her not too long ago, face to face. She was trying to steal some of my crystals, then when we made a deal for her to be let go with a little over half if she helped us fight, she abandoned us. Not exactly great first impressions.

Selena keeps insisting she's not truly an Atlantean, but she acts just like one. Atlanteans always go back on their deals with us and abandon us whenever our back is turned, especially if helping us no longer becomes useful to them.

However, she didn't tell Cody about me so I suppose I might as well give her that, and she did bring Blooper back to me when he got lost. Any other Atlantean would have brought him straight to Cody, prison or even worse, Professor Pikalus.

I suppose I could give her a chance, but the second she does anything to betray us, I will show no mercy. If she dares hurt my son, she will pay dearly.

Still, Blooper seems to like her quite a bit, so I guess I can let her into my house. Selena will have a watchful eye on her, but she is invited to stay if she likes.

Let's see how this goes.

~KrakenKid

Entry 14- October 13th

Dear Journal,

Today was strange. I met someone new.

A group of four Illithids were to go out on a simple patrol, but only three came back. They begged me to go back for the forth, and I decided there was no harm in checking around to see if they were still alive. After all, why let someone die if they can be saved?

I founded them luckily and didn't have to go too far, but they were with someone.

She called herself "Tanith"

Just Tanith. No last or middle name was given, and though it was odd, I did know a couple people without last names so I dropped it. She wasn't with us, so I assumed Atlantean, but it was so strange. She didn't act like one.

Tanith helped the Illithid by patching up his wound he received from some rock python and I actually decided to strike up some banter with her. She only got stranger.

She didn't know who I was. I know I'm dead and all, but I figured if she was with Atlantis so she must've at least heard of me, but nothing! Even if she did move there recently I thought I'd at least be mentioned. Is the penguin trying to forget about me or something? Pretend I never existed? Or that I was a dream?

Well he's about to get a rude awakening.

All in all, she patched the Illithid up and sent us on our way. It does raise some questions.

She was a hybrid, human top and snake tail on the bottom, completely replacing her legs. Is her whole race like that, or are her parents a human and a snake? Is she actually an Atlantean or something else?

I doubt it matters though. What are the odds I'll see her again?

In other news, the Illithid is healed and will be up and running in no time, as Doc says. At least it had a happy ending.

~KrakenKid

Entry 15- October 15th

Dear Journal,

Blooper keeps asking about his mom, especially lately.

I can't think of what to say, so I just avoid the question. I can't bring myself to admit what happened.

I can't hold him off for long.

Hopefully nobody else will tell him. Once I'm ready, I want to tell him myself. It's been months and I don't seem to be getting any more ready than before, and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever tell him.

I'd normally be worried about Cannibal saying anything, but I'm not even entirely sure he knows what happened. Then again, nobody is quite sure. We just guessed.

I remember how well Cannibal and her used to get along. Both had a certain bloodlust and they helped each other tame it. Not to mention they were sparring partners. Cannibal hasn't gotten a official new one since then, he just kinda jumps around with other people. Sometimes I think he looks for her so they can spar because I see him wandering around with his dulled swords in hand, then he just kinda stops for a moment as if he's trying to correct his mistake, then walks home again. It's like he forgets she's not there.

He's not the only one.

~KrakenKid

Entry 16- October 25th

Dear Journal,

She keeps coming back.

Tanith, that hybrid I mentioned before in entry 14, she just keeps popping up.

At first it was at the crystals. Tanith was mesmerized by them and didn't mind me asking questions. She seemed to be in a bit of a mood because she sounded really wistful and kinda sad for some reason. I wonder if that date had any significance.

Not only this, but she's for some reason big on promises and holds everyone to them, including herself. I jokingly offered her a house tour and she actually came to the Conch Command for one. I am a man of my word, so I decided I might as well get it over with.

Oddly enough, she is an Atlantean, which is still strange to me. She seriously doesn't act like one.

Lucky for us, she had no malice intent when she visited the Conch Command and even promised not to say anything. Not a spy, she said, but a medic.

Tanith had a good time and left, simple as that. Before, I was sure that I won't see her again, but now I'm not too sure. She got a house tour, what else could she want? What do I have to offer?

~KrakenKid

Entry 17- October 27th

Dear Journal,

There's something very odd about today. I heard something, but no one else did.

Whispers that kept offering me something, power or whatnot, but very faint. There was something else, like there was a pull and arguing or something. It kept repeating "No, not you!" before it started to offer me power again. It was like it was having a conversation with two people.

I might have dismissed it, but I've heard this before. Way back when I was working with the corruption turbine and powering it, I heard it there. Same whispers, same voice but louder. I never understood what it was talking about and Harold did mention that the turbine can mess with the head so I thought it was just that.

I'm starting to think it was something else.

~KrakenKid

Entry 18- October 31st

Dear Journal,

Happy Halloween

Note to self: Do not put Darrel in charge of the haunted house challenge, he destroys everyone and sends everyone home with their tail between their legs.

I can still hear their screams, and my own.

~KrakenKid

Entry 19- November 1st

Dear Journal,

Tanith did something strange today, or rather tonight.

I had a nightmare, reliving what happened that day but when I woke up, she was there.

I tried to ask how she could possibly know, but she never answered. She actually comforted me!

Atlanteans always want something from us, they never help us for free, but I can't seem to figure out what she wants. Is she spying on us? I've checked in with my spies and they all haven't found anything on her, so I'm starting to think maybe there isn't anything. But that doesn't make sense.

I'll have to be sure.

~KrakenKid

Entry 20- November 3rd

DEAR DIARY,

I, KRAKENKID, THINK THAT CANNIBALCRAB IS THE BEST AND GREATEST MAN I HAVE EVER KNOWN AND HE DESERVES THE WORLD

NO ONE ELSE CAN COMPARE TO THAT BEAUTIFUL MAN-CRAB

HE'S BEAUTIFUL

WILL I EVER BE THAT BEAUTIFUL?

--TOTALLYKRAKENKID

Entry 21- November 4th

Dear Journal,

CannibalCrab is a dead man

~KrakenKid

Entry 24- November 27th

Dear Journal,

Blooper's increase in his friendship with Selena finally allows me to trust her. Kinda.

I'll never stop the threat that if SHE HURTS HIM, SHE DIES, but maybe I was wrong.

Selena is an interesting one, tricky and smart enough to get around without allying herself to Atlantis or the Tide Changers. She has a personality that goes well with Bloopers, and the patience to deal with him as well. As much as I love my son, he's a bit of a handful sometimes.

Today I found them trying to make cookies together.

Long story short, we need a new oven, the last one caught on fire.

Interesting note: Trying to cook cookies at 3600 degrees for one minute doesn't work, nor does our oven have the capacity to go that high anyways.

Also, it is possible to shoot a fire out.

~KrakenKid

Entry 26- November 30th

Dear Journal,

I have put our plan into action. Even as I write this, Illithids are being sent out to take down cell towers from all around Atlantis.

Let's see how this goes.

Update: Just took down Professor. He never saw us coming. I had Blooper and a large group take him back. Blooper was a little disappointed I was sending him back so early, but I can't risk any longer, just in case it happens again.

Update 2: Time to go for the penguin. I could just take him down without a word, but where's the fun in that? Let's give him the whole "Not dead" and/or "You done messed up" speech.

I've been waiting for this for months.

Update 3: It went better than expected. Admittedly, I did get a little carried away and he almost escaped, but Cannibal caught him in time.

I tried to check on Tanith, but she was just gone. No guards saw anyone leave the house, and when a patrol went by to do a scan inside, it was empty. At that hour of night, she would have been home and I had guards everywhere. Where'd she go? She has no possible way of getting out discreetly, unless I'm missing something.

Update 4: We have almost everyone we need. Rasmus slipped through our fingers, but the penguin should make up for it.

I think it's time I payed him a visit.

~KrakenKid

Entry 27- December 1st

Dear Journal,

It has been almost a full day since the incident. The "Invasion" as many call it.

We lost all of our prisoners, Cody's work no doubt. All the guards mentioned he was there and suddenly gone. I might have been skeptical, but the cameras say the same thing. I might have underestimated him, he might have more of his father's powers than I thought.

What was more distressing was Annon. Annon came back, and kidnapped Blooper.

I teamed with the penguin and his professor and with Cannibal already by my side, we attacked. Annon was ruthless and kept taunting me. He got me alone and I might have died.

Tanith shot him in the head, saving my life.

Annon's body was burned and I kept him on the downlow. Tanith requested that nobody know of what she did, or at least as few people as possible. Given she saved my life, I kept my promise. Darrel, myself and one Illithid commander know, nobody else.

I can trust her. She might have seemed like a spy before, but no spy would do that.

Everyone is recovering, and I'm still debating telling her.

Annon mentioned I converted one of his family members, a sister I believe, to the Tide Changers, and I now know who. It wasn't hard to find out.

Should I tell her he's dead? Will she even care? Tanith surely wouldn't mind me sharing my secret with his family, but even so...

Perhaps some things are to be left unsaid.

~KrakenKid

Entry 34- March 2nd

Dear Journal,

Quick Updates:

Blooper has discovered the black market and my personal code word and almost got his hands on some things I wanted to keep to myself. Lucky for me, I found out early so he only ordered a couple things. Unlucky for me, I can't send them back. The old video games were fine, but I'm not sure what to do with a human heart...

Darrel keeps just looking at me and chuckling to himself, then mutters something under his breath. When I ask him about it, he just asks me how Tanith is doing. I still don't understand...

Speaking of Tanith, I attended one of her holidays. Unfortunately, it was a little hard to enjoy with the penguin around. I got over it eventually though, only because Tanith thinks there's something special to him. She did get pretty emotional, but homesickness never really goes away so I get it. Other than all of that, I liked it!

Cannibal found Blooper's heart and tried to make a Frankenstein... Needless to say, it didn't go well. It worked, but REALLY didn't go well.

Most of our Conch Command has fallen in love with the spice girls. None of them will tell us what they really, really, want.

~KrakenKid

Entry 40- May 1st

Dear Journal,

I think something's wrong with Atlantis.

Harold mentioned large amounts of Nexus activity, and something with the portal and then, everything went back to normal, or in the portal's case, disappeared all together. But that's impossible, the portal couldn't break... Could it?

Selena nor Tanith have visited in awhile, I'm getting worried. Our spies have been quiet and all they have said is that it's too risky to speak right now before going silent. Atlantis appears to be on high alert.

But what happened? I can't seem to get anything. Tanith hasn't returned any of my calls and her emotions are everywhere. Selena has simply emailed Blooper, cancelling all their plans for the week saying an emergency has come up, but never specified what happened. Just something with family.

I got Crater Face to hack into the lab's camera's for a little bit and Professor's everywhere. He's bouncing all over the lab, constantly working and I barely saw him take so much as a lunch or bathroom break unless he really had to. Guards were minimal, which means they are being used for something else. The outside camera's told the same story. What happened that made Atlantis' guards take a different post, away from tanks and weapons that I could so easily steal? An interesting riddle indeed. Not sure if I'll ever find out.

What's going on with Atlantis?

~KrakenKid

Entry I DON'T EVEN KNOWWWWWWW

HEY GUESS WHAT

CRANKYCRAB AND HAROLD TEAMED UP TO MAKE SOME KINDA DRINK AND I DRANK IT

SO MUCH CAFFEINE I LOVE IT

DARREL KEEPS SAYING SOMETHING ABOUT "KrakenKid, you're being a danger to yourself and everyone else" AND IS GETTING A DOCTOR OR SOMETHING?

OH HEY THEY'RE HERE

COME JOIN THE PARTY

DOC HAS A NEEDLE

Oh boy... KrakenKid, I can't wait until you see this journal entry later.

-Darrel-

Entry 44- May 6th

Dear Journal,

Let's agree to forget about that last entry...

~KrakenKid

Entry 50- June 16th

Dear Journal,

We have a new threat, both us and Atlantis.

We ended up calling him "Ace"

Guess whose idea that was? I'll give you a hint, they like nicknames.

Anyways, he's a strange one. Doesn't mind playing dirty, can posses people, possibly other things we haven't found out yet. He took everyone and hid them in caves, then separated me and Cody from them. Apparently, he had a lot of trouble with us. He suspects he couldn't for me because I'm full kraken, but I don't think that's it...

Ace specifically wanted everyone in that room, and switched around to posses them. Ace switched to Blooper long before Cody and I even thought of getting out, and he didn't notice us until long after we got out. He was in there for a reason, not just as ransom. Plus, everyone I talked to said they felt kinda off after the incident.

I'm a villain, and I like to think I know how other villains work, and Ace definitely had a reason for doing that. He made no move to conquer Atlantis while we were gone. Going around and destroying things as Professor was most likely a test run, trying to see the extent of his abilities? Why did he want to posses us all? What did he do while inside of us? Did he cause destruction or try to see what he could do?

Or something much worse?

~KrakenKid

****************************************************

Alrighty! I had quite a lot of fun with this one! I actually wrote down a bunch of notes and reasoning for what KrakenKid was talking about in his entries. Here's exactly what they said:

(Notes to Remember about chapter: KrakenKid first refers to Professor Pikalus as "Professor Pickles" because he's remembering him jokingly and remembering how he beat him. However, the second time he does, he uses his real name because he starts to remember him when he saw him in war, specifically when he kidnapped his son and caged him in the middle of it. His funny nickname loses itself in his bitterness, and Professor Pikalus is no longer that stupid professor, but a monster, or worse, a man. A real life person who did something as horrible as that to him.)

(Other Note: The reason KrakenKid constantly refers to Tanith as "Someone who doesn't act like an Atlantean" is because she breaks his rules about an Atlantean. She never turned her back on his deals, and she helped him, even when she had no reason to, even by their first meeting with the injured Illithid.)

(Note: When KrakenKid says "I wonder if the date had any significance" He's right. The very date he and Tanith met at the crystals marked the anniversary of when she left home, hence why she didn't mind opening up to him, despite not knowing him that well. That exact date was October 16th, a couple days after the journal entry.)

(Fun Fact: KrakenKid never says Ena's name, but still mentions her as simply "Her" or "She")

(Note: Selena calls Cody family)

(Why did I add the spice girls thing)

So that's a thing... Wow, I love adding little details, don't I?

Anyways, I hope you liked this! Be sure to comment what you thought, sorry for the long notes but I love explaining that stuff, and goodbye!

Third Person

"Hmm..." Cece watched the memory play over once or twice before finally stopping. Tanith's memory of her trip to the market. She began to take it apart, keeping things like what she bought, prices, names and faces while discarding anything not as useful. She didn't need to know the colors of the flowers there, nor the weather.

Once she picked out the necessary parts, she melded them together into a golden and glowing blob and sent them to the main drive. Emmy would deal with it there.

She huffed to herself, turning her attention all around her before she knew her work was done for now. Her space of the mind, which for now was just a dark room, was empty. She'd sort more tomorrow, for now, she had emotions to deal with.

Cece always liked keeping her space empty and black, it was consistent and not distracting. Focus was key for a conscience.

Concentrating, Cece brought up a chart of current emotions Tanith was feeling and examined it closely. A bar chart, containing many colored bars at different levels. "Happiness is great... Looks like girl's day out is going well." She nodded to herself, remembering Tanith mentioning it earlier. "Sadness is low, anger is low, fear is..."

She hesitated. The fear bar wasn't showing up. No yellow bar anywhere. "Strange..." She muttered, trying to get it to "Refresh" in a sense, but it was still blurred out. "Why can't I see it? Fear is natural, everyone feels it in everyday life but-"

Cece flinched when the whole chart glitched, and just for a second, all the data disappeared except the fear bar, which broke off the charts. Then, it disappeared completely.

Cece couldn't help but feel panic in her chest. "What?" She didn't understand, why did it do that? Cece didn't like not understanding. "It's not supposed to do that... It hasn't done that since-"

Then, she understood. However, Cece noticed the dark swirls surrounding her a little too late. She moved to run but they instantly struck, coiling around her until she couldn't run, her arms being pulled behind her and legs giving away as she fell to her knees, the swirls keeping her there.

With a snap of the finger, the swirls changed from camouflage, dark like the rest of the room, to their natural color, yellow. It was only then that she revealed herself, now no longer hiding in the shadows.

"Faya." Cece narrowed her eyes, unamused. Faya grinned, flicking her long, red hair. Her yellow eyes glinted in the light. "What are you doing here? How did you-"

"How did I rise up with you around?" Her eyebrows raised. "Simple: I had help. Now, I think it's my turn, Cece dearest." The muscular human bent down and grabbed her chin, forcing it to face her, not like Cece was dare going to break eye contact. "Why don't you take a vacation? Doctor's orders."

Cece just shot a glare as some swirls began to curl around her throat lightly. "What? Nothing to say? You're normally so chatty, I thought I'd have to make you shut up." Faya taunted.

Something came to Cece: An idea. Not a very good one, but one that would at least provide her with the last laugh.

Cece could remember one very important thing that Tanith, Layla and Faya all had in common: There was always a way to piss them off, just by one sentence. Tanith? Just say her full name, she always hated when people use it. Layla? Mistake her for emotions, or call her emotional. She'll scream at you, or if you're lucky, scream on the inside. Professor got the easy end because he's her favorite. As for Faya?

Cece's mouth twitched into a smirk. "You have beautiful eyes."

Faya's eyes widened and she tensed up before decking her in the face. Cece lost consciousness, but that look never faded from her face, even then.

Faya panted, trying to grasp reality. "Why does everyone say that..." She muttered to herself, shaking her head.
