Chapter 11- A Lesson In Violence

KrakenKid

"So are all the plans ready?"

I locked eyes with my main general, who smiled. "Not all of them, but soon they will be. At the latest of two weeks, we will be ready. No one will stand a chance." I couldn't help but return the smile. Everything is going according to plan. "Good. Deal with what needs to be done. If you need me, just ask and I'll be there."

CannibalCrab grinned wider and nodded before leaving to go discuss business with Gnash. I made my way out of the situation room and down the stairs. I was wolfing down special chicken when an Illithid approached. "My lord, you have a visitor."

I blinked in confusion. "I do? Where?" I scanned around the kitchen and bar but nothing looked out of the ordinary. "Not here sir." I let out a little 'Oh' sound before heading down the stairs. I swear I heard the Illithid chuckle behind me but it was hard to tell. "Sir!" They called out again, making me pause. "What?" I yelled back. "Up the stairs, in your room."

Coming back up, I gave them a confused look. "In my room? I never saw anyone go up there during the meeting." The tall purple being rubbed the back of their head, their eyes looked down for a while before returning to my eyes. "They came in through your window."

"I- What? Through my window? As in the balcony window?" They confirmed what I heard. "Okay then... Odd choice of coming in but I suppose I can see who it is." I half said the words but made my way up stairs. "Who would in their right mind would go through here?" I murmured to myself as I approached my bedroom.

"Alright guards, what's this about a-" My sentence broke off. "Tanith? Wha- Why am I even surprised that it's you? Who else would it be?" I sighed and even rolled my eyes just a bit.

The two guards normally posted at the top of the stairs were now surrounding the hybrid, who leaned against the wall, smiling now. "Hello KK." She greeted me with a wave. "What are y- Wait. KK?" I repeated her phrase. "Yeah. KK."

Perplexed, I signaled the guards to leave. As they left, I began to ask more questions,

"What's a "KK?""

"You are. You know, KrakenKid, KK. It's a nickname I made. I liked it personally."

"A nickname? Why would you give me a nickname? My name is perfectly fine as it is."

"Yes but, nicknames are often used among friends."

I gave her a weird look. "Friends? We're friends now?" Her grin was wider than ever. "Well yeah! You've showed me your house and even had a Feels Jam session with me. I think we qualify as friends." Even more question flooded through my mind as I tried to get a grasp on what she was saying. "What the heck is a "Feels Jam?"" I blurted out. She laughed just a bit. "You know, when we were by the crystals and talked about our feelings and stuff. That's called a Feels Jam. When two people have a talk about feelings, good, bad, and anything in between." She explained to me, standing up straight, no longer using the side of the wall for support. "We didn't talk about feelings! You just talked about how much you missed home and- Oh my gosh.... That's a Feels Jam isn't it?" She nodded slowly, her grin widened. "Now he's getting it."

I huffed, crossing my arms. "You dragged me into a Feels Jam? That's a little unfair." She chuckled lightly. "Well if it makes you feel better, I promise that I, Tanith, owe you, KrakenKid, one Feels Jam, completely centering around him." She held up one hand flat and the other on her heart. "I swear it."

For just a moment, it seemed as if something flickered, but it was gone as quickly as it came.

"Okay now why are you here? And why come in through this window?" She shrugged. "To be honest, I had nothing better to do with my life, so I decided, why not visit KK? So here I am. Also," She added. "I was looking for you in particular and decided that you might be in your room so I just climbed up here. It was easier than walking up your long spiraling stairs of death."

Through everything she said, I chuckled. "Really? "Spiraling stairs of death?" Are they really that bad?" A short breath came out of her nose as her smile became more visible. "Are you kidding me? It's so long and spirally and it makes me feel like I'm on some sort of carousel. I went on one of those things once and it was a nightmare."

The thought of a terrified snake person hybrid holding onto a metal horse for dear life as it spins around in endless circles practically made my day.

"Okay, okay. So basically you decided to climb into my window? That's honestly borderline creepy." She half shrugged, barely lifting her shoulders. "It seemed like a good solution at the time. Anyways, I wanted to hang with my buddy KK and that is what I'm going to do." She put on a dorky determined face on and placed one hand on my shoulder.

"If you aren't busy that is."

I felt one eye become a little wider. "What if I was busy?" I questioned. "Then I would have no idea what to do. Now," She grinned widely. "What do you people do for fun?" I hummed while thinking.

"Well, I suppose if you want to, we can go shoot guns. That's always fun!" Though the blue eyes expanded, it was more in wonder than fear. "You have guns I can play with?" Tanith sounded like an excited five year old. That is, if I five year old could play with guns. Then again, I did and Blooper isn't extremely young but he has definitely had his fair share of guns. Too bad Blooper is away right now. He would sure love to shoot guns with his dad.

Then another thought occurred to me. Come to think of it, neither CannibalCrab or BabyBlooper have met Tanith. But soon, it was dismissed. Eh, they will eventually. Focus on the present KrakenKid.

"Yeah of course we have guns, what do you take us for, an overprotective daycare?" She snickered. "Well," She started when she finally caught her breath. "Your name is Kraken-KID after all." She pointed out, a devious smirk on her face. My mouth opened, then closed. "Shut up." I said quickly before turning and heading down the stairs, a giggling snake person following behind me.

Soon, I found myself at the armory. Tanith gazed around at everything there. The fancier stone was definitely different and the fact that many shelves, stands and chest were all around, stacked with blades of all kind and some armor to the left of the entrance on armor stands.

Being used to this sight, I went straight for the chest, unlike the hybrid who lingered around and took it all in. "Wow." She uttered the word and didn't say another for a while. Opening up some of the chest, some were empty and others had things I didn't need. Finally, I came across the right one. "Here we go." I couldn't help but grin as I scooped the pistol out and turned around, showing it off.

"Hey, look at thi-"

"DANG IT!"

Her sudden outburst made me fumble with the gun, almost dropping it in the process. I let out a short breath in relief when I caught it. I growled and whipped around to the female. "What was that for? I almost dropped it!" I yelled at her. For some reason, she snickered, her once frustrated face melted away in seconds. "Sorry but you pointed the gun at me." Tanith managed to get it out.

"Why would it matter if I- Oh yeah." I stopped in the middle of my sentence, sudden memories flooding back. The same familiar voice greeted me in each, but a different tone used in all of them.

"I hope next time we meet I don't get a gun pointed at me."

"Just once we have to have a meeting where you don't point a gun at me."

"Too bad we still haven't had a time where you haven't pointed a gun at me."

"Thanks by the way. This was fun even if you did point a gun at me. Twice."

"We still haven't had a time where I didn't point a gun at you huh? Why is that so important anyways?" When the words slipped out of my mouth, I realized I had always wondered the question but never asked. Tanith eyes glinted, and just for a moment, she looked just a bit confused. "To be honest, I'm not entirely sure. The first time I said it, it was a joke but I think at this point, it still is. I just want to see if it will ever end. Plus," She added with a smile plastered on her face. "Personally, I like this on running joke. Now, whatcha got for me?" Her eyes lowered to the gun I held.

"Well this is a-"

"Beretta M9. A semiautomatic 9mm pistol."

I stared dumbfounded at her. "I've seen a lot of those and have used one myself." She explained quickly as my mouth opened. From how her face changed, she was amused at my reaction. "They're pretty good guns too. Smaller so they're easier to carry, the knock back is not too bad either. A personal favorite of mine." Her normal happy smile turned more smug. I let out a barely soundless laugh. "Well, someone's a show off." Her smile never wavered telling me I was right.

"If you know so much, let's try target practice. Hold on one moment."

Soon, we made it outside the Conch Command and were back behind it. The giant crab statue caused the hybrid to do a double take but she didn't say anything about it. With a couple of practice dummies a couple of feet away, I placed down three fences to act as a barrier or a line to stay on the other side of to shoot from. A singular double chest was placed behind us, various guns inside ranging from small and in no way automatic to a special surprise. Man, Tanith was going to freak when she saw it.

Placing the M9 in her white hand, her fingers curled around it. When I looked up at her face, she seemed out of it. Her eyes might have been staring at it, but they seemed so far away at the same time. A little freaky to be honest. I tried snapping at her, but no response came. She was lost in thought.

"Tanith!" My voice made her flinch, head shooting up. "Hmm?" Blue eyes were full of hidden emotions, but this was no time to pry. "Time to show me what you can do." I nodded in the direction of the dummies. "Oh right." The voice sounded as if it were so far away, even if it was right next to me. She slithered up to the fence, and held up the gun.

"Are you okay?" Though it wasn't really the time to ask, I just had to. I was never really the most patient person anyways. "Huh? Yeah I'm Fine." She tried to insist. "That was the most unconvincing thing I've heard in my life." I told her blatantly. She sighed and rubbed her eyes with her free hand. "Yeah I thought the same as I was saying it. Sorry just got lost in thought. Remembered some weird things, that's all."

"Weird?" I know it's not good to press on but once I was intrigued, there was no stopping me now. "Yeah. Remember how I said I was a War Medic?" She turned her head to my direction. "Yeah." I answered. "Well, I've seen things. I've seen this gun kill thousands of people, not to mention I've used it myself to take lives and now I'm wielding it once again. Kinda weird you know? Anyways," She changed from someone who was barely there to back in seconds, which oddly enough, happened pretty often.

Her eyes narrowed at the target and her hands readjusted. "Let's see what I can do." Gunshots rang out as she emptied the whole clip within the minute. My eyes widened but that didn't stop me from a grin. "Nice. Let's see how many you actually got." I maneuvered my way over to the three dummies placed and counted. "Four out of six shots hit the target. One in the shoulder, two in each side and one pretty close to the bulls eye. Not bad! I've seen better but still."

The half human was pleased. "Thanks! To be fair, I am a doctor. I don't exactly use guns often." I thought for a moment before giving them the gift of my approval. "You got me there. Next up."

Swimming back over, I flipped open the chest, pulling out the next in line. "Oh come on!" She rolled her eyes as I held it out. "Anyone who even remotely knows history knows that's a Musket." I clicked my tongue. "Yes, but give me more details. Type and all." The blue eyes gazed over the long gun, examining it closely.

"Shoot it KK." She ordered. With no reason not to and wanting to, I obeyed and shot into the air, not aiming at anything. I tried to see where it went but it was impossible and I gave up quickly, turning my attention back to the guest. "Charleville Musket, .69 caliber and last but not least 1766." She grinned cheesily. "Well, well, well. Someone knew this one too."

"Yep. Once again, I've seen it used in a lot of wars."

"Really? Isn't it kinda old?"

"You'd be surprised."

I chuckled. "I guess so. Now shoot it!" I ordered, placing it in her hands. There was no spacing out this time as she quickly used six more bullets and I checked it again. "You haven't used that one that much have you?" I spoke while examining the holes. "How could you tell?" She asked, humor was in her voice. I shook my head. "Well, you only got three of the six and the closest to the bull's eye was in the outer ring."

Soon after, I pulled out the third gun, a Python, the revolver. Upon taking it out, it was snatched out of my hands almost immediately. "Hey! What do you think you're doing?" When I turned to her, her face was no longer smiling, now deathly serious. "No." She said simply. "What?"

"No Python." As if she didn't want to touch it any longer, she shoved it back inside the chest. "Why not the Python?" I asked more slowly this time. Her eyes flickered for a moment. "I really do not like that gun. Please. Just... Chose another one. Anything else." I paused, tensing up, wondering what could possibly be wrong with that gun, before letting it go. "Fine, I'll move on to the surprise."

Emotion returned to Tanith's face and in an instant, she was happy again. "Surprise?" Like anyone would, she became interested and attempted to peak inside. "Hold on, hey!" I slapped her hand away when it sneaked to the top of the chest. "I said hold on! Sheesh." I murmured the last part to myself and took it out.

When it was placed down, the hybrid's eyes lit up with amazement. "No way. It's a-"

"Machine gun!"

I finished proudly. Placing it on the ground, the female marveled at the gun. The gun was black, being held up by a thick rod with three 'Feet' at the end of it. Six barrels pointed towards the bottom of the dummies. The blue eyes could not stop looking at it in wonder. "Holy crap! I've never used one of these before!" Her face in shock and awe. "Do you know what this is?" I pressed.

"Uh. Machine gun?" I laughed. "Try being more specific." She squinted at it then shook her head. "I have no idea. I haven't seen a ton of machine guns and none of them were this big!"

"Well, for your information, it's a M-134. 7.62mm. What do you think? Isn't she beautiful?"

I sighed with joy. This gun was very expensive but in my opinion, worth every penny. "Can I shoot it?" She finally asked. I gave an approving nod, the human face lit up and quickly grabbed the gun, adjusting it until she shot at it, more than six times. I watched as the fluff from the targets flew everywhere. "YEAHHHHHHH!!!!!!" The hollering came from the serpent, grinning like a madman, or women in this case.

When the shooting stopped, all three were destroyed. For a moment, she stood there, panting, for some reason out of breath. When she turned to me, her eyes were shining. "You have no idea how long I've been waiting to use that gun." I chuckled and glanced back at where the targets once were. "Well, you certainly hit them. Good job."

The hybrid giggled. "This was really fun and I'd love to do it again sometime!" She told me. Judging by how she was saying, I could guess what was going on. "You have to go don't you?" She let out a small sigh. "Yeah sorry. It's getting dark and I'd rather not have to walk back in complete darkness. I've done it before and it's not fun. You can barely see anything out there."

I snatched up the machine gun, nodding along with her. "Okay . See you later then." She waved just before turning her back and strolled away. I watched her leave and shook my head. "I still can't believe she entered through my window. I mean who does that?"

So this chapter was around 3,005 words, not including this little note at the bottom, which has to be my longest if I'm not mistaken. I meant to release this yesterday and then in the afternoon today but it took too long yesterday due to editing, then today I had things to do and I got side tracked then Wattpad didn't work for a while so yeah, sorry it took so long but hey! Better late then never!

Now, like always, I hope you enjoyed this! In real life, I don't know too much about guns so the research on this one was hectic but, here you go! Like always, be sure to comment, because it really does help! See ya!
