1- Where's Mom?
KrakenKid
Typing away on the computer, I let out a hefty sigh in boredom. Though I had postponed it for months, today was finally the day I had to organize everything on my computer. All the photos, information, everything. Because I waited so long, I was two hours in and only half way done. I resisted every urge in my body to slam my head against the keyboard repeatedly.
The sound of frantic swimming was in the distance at first but rapidly became louder as whatever was doing it neared. "KRAKENKID!" I shot up at the all too familiar voice and whipped around just in time to see Ena rushing into my room.
Ena, unlike myself and most of the other Tide Changers, was human. She had short black hair and quite tan skin. Ena had bright green eyes and was quite muscular, though if you do a lot of fighting all the time, that was bound to happen. Today, she wore jeans with a brown belt as well as a simple gray T-shirt.
Also, unlike anyone else, Ena just happened to be my soulmate.
Her eyes were wide and she quickly steadied herself before locking eyes with me. Panic was easily visible, which only made me all the more scared. Ena was a tough one, so getting her like this was a challenge and could only be the works of something big. I gulped.
"What?"
She hastily walked forward and put her hands on my shoulders, not breaking eye contact. "Kraken, I'm pregnant."
My body stiffened but I managed to croak out the words, "Please tell me this is another one of your pranks." Her head shook quickly, still maintaining eye contact. I took in a deep breath before letting out an ear piercing scream, Ena soon joined me.
After a minute, I stopped to actually think, my heart pounding out of my chest. "We're not ready for this! We'll be terrible parents!"
"I have never babysat in my life! How am I supposed to watch over a baby? WHAT ARE WE GOING TO CREATE? Our occupation is pretty much as dangerous as you can get and now we're having a CHILD?" Ena gripped the sides of her head, pulling a bit at her hair.
"You've seen the movies! When villains have kids, they always join the hero, betray and sometimes even kill their parents in the end! IS THIS OUR FATE? DEATH BY OFFSPRING?" I screeched back.
Finally, we reached the stage where both of us could only do one thing. We both took off at the same time and bolted down the stairs before making a sharp right turn. "DARREL!"
The blue bird simply sighed as we arrived at his desk, his feathers ruffling slightly. "Yes? What now?"
Ena beat me to it and slammed her hands on the desk. "I'M PREGNANT!"
"Congratulations to you both! You'll need me to plan some sort of baby shower I presume?" His eyebrows lifted but we both shook our heads.
"Darrel, I'm going to be a father! How do I do that?" I cried desperately.
Darrel huffed, got up from his chair and on the table, just so he could be at a better eye level with both of us. "Listen, I can give you tips but being a parent, but truthfully comes from the heart. You'll learn from experiences and mistakes and help your child grow, but also yourself. You'll change because of them. Both of you will. Just baby proof the place and you'll be fine."
"WHAT'S BABY PROOFING?" Both of us screamed in unison and Darrel face palmed.
"You two have both been on dangerous missions to raid Atlantis, but caring for a child shakes your confidence? What am I going to do with you two?"

I stared at the sleeping bundle, the tiny purple face poking out of it. They looked so... Peaceful. The child definitely had after my looks.
It had been over ten hours that had I been a father but I couldn't stop watching the baby. To think, this thing was partly me!
Soft shuffling came from behind before someone joined me. It didn't take long to figure out who it was. "So this is our little nightmare huh?" She spoke quietly and smiled softly. "He's going to be the greatest fighter that ever lived with our genetics."
"On the downside, he'll be the worst at socializing." I joked, getting a laugh out of her.
"With our trust issues? He's going to have a couple problems... Maybe he didn't inherit it? We'll find out eventually."
The pair of us shared a look before turning back to the little squid child. "Speaking of him, we need a name. I'm thinking KrakenKid Jr!"
"No."
I stifled a laugh. "Yeah I didn't think that'd work... What about... Dave?"
Ena's eyebrows raised. "I... No. I don't think that really works with him."
"Uh... Bob? Josh?"
"Josh sounds better but I'm not really feeling it for a squid child..." She huffed. "Annnnd, we're already failing at the simplest thing... Was this all some big..." She searched for the word.
"Disaster? Mistake? A... Blooper?"
Almost immediately, we locked eyes with each other. "Blooper has a nice ring to it." She admitted and I grinned.
"It is kinda cute." We both returned our gaze to the newly named child, now seeing it with a new light. "Baby Blooper..."
****************************************
"Do you have all of the rations?"
"Yep." Ena nodded.
"Sleeping bag? Pillow?"
"First thing I packed."
"All 47 of your swords?"
Ena stifled a laugh, rolling her eyes. "I have three. I won't need any more than that. I'm just sneaking through Atlantis and out the portal when they open it. I could do it in my sleep and with only a toothpick. Relax. You're giving yourself a heart attack."
I sighed but agreed with her. "I know, I know... I'm just... Nervous. I know you'll do great but what if you get in trouble? It'll be harder to give you backup if you need it once you're in the Overworld. Plus, what if something goes wrong with Blooper? I can't parent on my own!"
The Female Tide Changer sighed, shaking her head. "Kraken, you'll be fine. It's only a couple months and then I'll be back before you know it! Besides, you're better at this parent thing than I am! We both know that gathering more Tide Changers from the Overworld will help with our cause. Don't worry about it. You'll hardly even notice I'm gone."
I sighed and nodded. "I'll see you out. Just... Promise me you'll be careful?"
Ena's eyes rolled again but she did anyways. "I promise I'll be more careful."
*******************************************
"Dad, where's Mom?"
Just from that simple sentence, memories flashed in my mind, until I couldn't bare it any longer.
Ena never came back from her trip. She'd never see her son again, and Blooper would never even know his mother. Ena and the rest who went with her were all presumed dead and we didn't even have a body to prove it. There was no grave, and hardly anything left of her.
And it hurt. It hurt so badly that it was like my heart was being ripped from my chest. The closest thing I had to her was Blooper. Every time he pulled a prank, I could only see her. Every time he'd get sassy with me, I could hear her in his voice.
Blooper was a lot like his mother, and that made it hurt more.
I turned away, tears brimming at my eyes until they started to spill over. My many supporting tentacles failed me and I dropped to the ground. Blooper gasped from behind me and quickly rushed to my aid.
"Dad?" He questioned, trying to see what was wrong with me.
"I don't know Blooper!" I cried out. The tears now didn't stop as they ran down my face. "I-I don't know! I don't know! I don't know!" I kept repeating myself until I couldn't talk and choked back a sob. "But she's gone! She's gone and probably never coming back!"
My heart became heavy with each word I spoke. Finally, I had accepted it.
Ena is gone.

The following was requested by Iceshard1011! I hope you liked it!
The first chapter is up! It's nice to write some feels again, though admittedly, that was kinda mild compared to what I want to do. Anyways, new book!
It's actually book number 10! (I think) And that tells me I should probably focus on these books before making another...
Anyways, like Sea Ships, you can ask for specific things or people and I'll make them sad! I might do a couple things of my own too, if I get the inspiration. You can ask for just about anything too! Even some Tanith things if you really want. (She's my other character in case you didn't know.)
Anyways, I hope you liked this! Be sure to comment and I'll see ya later!
