Anika sat on the ground on a corner. She was herself confused by her deeds.

Anika (thought): why did I broke that thing?? Why was I so angry as he called me stupid. Every now and than Aqua used to call me that. When I pushed him, nothing happened. He should have land miles away. He even didn't felt anything when he touch me without my consent. Why it happened?? Why do I feel like I've met him before..... his eyes. They were just..... urghhh

She was in her thoughts when she felt something cold on her bare legs. She saw and found it was snow. She looked up and found that snowfall started. She smiled but a minute later the snowfall increased. She curled up as she was feeling cold. Though she can bear the cold but here it was little more.

Atlantic ocean's temperature is low. And the mermaids stay in that diverse condition. But at present the temperature level have decreased more. She started shivering as she just wore a hoddie lengthen upto her mid thigh. She tried hard to increase her body heat by rubbing her arms.

A beautiful lady wear a pink jacket, denim jeans and a grey muffler around her neck walked with a beautiful smile and umbrella. She was passing by but stopped seeing a girl wearing just a hoodie shivering on a corner. She went near her.

Lady: hey!!

Anika looked up.

Lady: why are sitting here?? It's snowing. And don't you have anything else to wear?

Anika nodded no. The girl felt pitty.

Lady: where do you live?

Anika: I don't have any shelter.

Lady: ohh!! Come with me. I'll get you something to wear. You can't stay here like this.

Anika was not sure if she could go. But she found the lady trust worthy. Anika stood up hesitantly. The lady noticed her hesitation and kept her hand on her shoulder but jerk it as she felt current.

Lady: whaow!!!! Eh.... don't hesitate I won't ask for anything. Just come or else you'll fall ill.

She gave her a shawl from her bag. Anika took it and wrapped it around herself. They started walking. The lady forward her hand to her.

Lady: hi I am Mallika. Mallika Chaudhry

Anika stood confused as she didn't know why she forward her hand.

Anika: eh.... what should I do now??

Mallika (chuckled): hold my hand and tell me your name.

Anika passed a small smile and held her hand.

Anika: Anika!!

Mallika Chaudhry

A simple girl who owns a small yet famous restaurant in NY. She lives behind her restaurant alone.

Mallika: Anika!! Naam toh Indian hai. Indian ho naah? Can you speak hindi?

Anika: ya I can speak hindi. But I am not from India.

Mallika: ohh!! Okay so where are you from??

Anika: eh....

She shoved her hand in her pocket and magical got the passport out. She forward it to her. Mallika frowned and took it. She saw it was from Washington

Mallika: ohh so you live in Washington. How do you came here?

She gave the passport back. Anika was confused what should she say.

Anika: I.... walked

Mallika (stopped and looked at her with shock): you what??

Anika: wa.... walked

Mallika: you walked to New York from Washington??

Anika: yeah!!

Mallika: aren't you tired?

Anika: yeah I was but not now. But I am hungry.

Mallikaa composed herself and they headed towards her restuarant. They entered in "The Brown Sugar Restaurant" of Mallika and she gave some warm clothes to her.

Mallika: I think it'll suit you. Go and wear this.

Anika smiled when in the room. After few minutes she came out wearing this.

*please ignore the bag and footwears*

Mallika was preparing something for her to eat. The restaurant was closed for now so no one was present. Anika came out and sat on a chair. Mallika brought soup for her.

Mallika: have it.

Anika looked in the bowl and took the spoon near her mouth but Mallika stopped her.

Mallika: ayyee garam hai. Dhayan se

Anika (smiled): oh sorry.

She blew it and took a sip.

Mallika: how's it?

Anika: yummy!! Thank you.

Anika complete the soup. Mallika forward a tissue. Anika gave a confused look.

Mallika: wipe your face.

Anika wiped her mouth with her sleeve. Mallika smiled and shook her head.

Anika: I don't have money for this clothes and this thing which I drank.

Mallika: it's okay. I don't want it either.

Anika: I should go

Mallika: where will you go?? You said you don't have a shelter.

Anika: eh..... I'll see

Mallika: Anika..... if you want you can stay with me. Waise bhi main yahan akeli hi rehti hun. I'll get some company too.

Anika: but how can I?? I don't have money...

Mallika: everything's not about money. Okay... we can do one thing. You help me in this restaurant if wanna pay. You help me and main tumhari salary mein se rent le lungi. So help me

Anika: how??

Mallika: you cooking?

Anika: no!!

Mallika: koi baat nahi main sikha dungi. So done tum yahan mere saath reh sakti ho badle mein mujhe cooking ya delivery mein help karna. Simple. Waise bhi mujhe chahiye tha koi. Who can help me.

Anika: sachi??

Mallika: of course.

Anika: thank you

Mallika: so friends??

Anika (smiling huge): friends.

They shook their hands. Mallika went to kitchen and instructed Anika and she learned it pretty well.

At night Shivaay came back home. He removed his coat and the potli bag fell. As he saw that Anika's face appeared in front of his eyes. He picked the bag up and sat on the bed playing with the bag. His eye fell on his wrist with was still little reddish. He again concentrated on the bag.

Shivaay: ussne yeh mujhe kyu diya? Woh bhi real sea pearls. And how casually she gave this to me. As if she have a goddown filled with it. Who was she?? I need to find that out. But how?? I don't even know her name. Damn it!!!!

He thought for a while. He took a plain paper and pencil. He closed his eyes and moved the pencil on the paper. After half an hour he dropped the pencil and took the paper up.

Shivaay: who ever you are. Tumhein main chain se jeene nahi duna. Shivaay Singh Oberoi se panga bohat mehngha padega tumhein.

He clicked the photo and send it to someone. He asked them to find information about her. He flicked his hairs and when to freshen up.

Here Anika was sitting on the bed in the room (they'll share a room)

Mallika came to her room with a tray. Anika looked at her and smile.

Mallika sat beside her and placed the tray on the bed.

Mallika: have this.

Anika: what is it??

Mallika: this is Chocolate Milkshake.... no Chocolate Freakshake. Have it

Anika took a sip and closed her eyes in delight. Mallika smiled seeing her reaction.

Anika: wow!!! Mallika yeh... yeh.... bohat acha hai. I just loved it.

Mallika: acha hai na??

Anika: bohat. Tum bhi lo

Mallika: haan.

They both were enjoying their drink.

Mallika: so Anika tell me about yourself. Subha se baat hi nahi ho pai.

Anika's smile decreased she don't know what to say.

Mallika: bolo....

Anika: wha.... what do you wanna know??

Mallika: about yourself.

Anika: first you say

Mallika: okay so... I am Mallika Chaudhry as you know. I am from India. Meri family mein meri badi behan hai hai aur mere jiju hai aur jiju ki family. They treat me as their own daughter. I was very young when my parents died. Di ne hi mujhe sambhala. Yahan padhai ke liye aai thi. But woh toh hua nahi. Cooking mein bachpan se intrest tha. No... not intrest craze hai.... so college drop out kar ke yeh restaurant khola. And by God's grace it went well.

Anika: College drop out??

Mallika: yeah you say tumne kitna padha hai?

Anika: eh..... main kabhi school ya college nahi gai

Mallika: what??? Kabhi bhi nahi??

Anika: no. But maine bohat sari books padhi hai bachpan se. Mujhe almost sab aata hai koi bhi question puchh lo. 99% percent toh sab ke answers de dungi. Hindi bhi maine books padh padh kar hi sikhi hai.

Mallika: really?? Kabhi school college nahi gai tabhi bhi aata hai. Let me ask you some question. Umm... Indian Mythology aur Literature ke baare mein pata hai? Kyu ke mujhe uss ne thoda intrest hai so I'll ask that first.

Anika: haan pata hai. You ask.

Mallika: so tell me Bhagwat geeta kisne kahi hai?

Anika: Shri Krishna ne kahi hai.

Mallika: good. Ramayan kisne likhi hai?

Anika: Maharshi Valmiki ne.

Mallika: ab literature ki baari. Ved kitne hai?

Anika: 4. Rig ved, Sam ved, Yajur ved, Atharv ved. And Rig veda is the most ancient book of Indian Literature.

Mallika: okay...Kalidas ki sabse famous book konsi hai?

Anika: Abhigyaan-Shakunlam. Which is write in Sanskrit.

Mallika: impressive. Ain-e-Akbari kisne likhi hai?

Anika: Abdul Farzl ne. Unki ek aur book ka naam mujhe pata hai kya tha..... haan Akbarnama.

Mallika: good. Awadhi language ki sab se purani book konsi hai?

Anika: Chandrayan. It was written by Mulla Daood.

She took out her phone and searched some more question to ask. She asked many questions which she answered fluently.

Mallika: okay last question. What is Black Hole??

Anika: meri family bohat....... badi hai. Sabke naam lene bethi toh puri raat nikal jayegi.

Mallikaa: whoaw!!! Kitne members hai?

Anika: pata nahi kabhi count nahi kiya.

Mallika (chuckled): acha mom dad ya bhai behan ka naam toh bata do

Anika: Mom's is Celestina. Maasi ka naam Marcelline. Aur unki do betiyan hai Ava and Avalon. Meri behan. And my best friend is Aqua

Mallika: aur dad?

Anika: I don't. Maine kabhi unhe dekha nahi hai. Matlab ek baar photo mein dekha hai. About 4 days ago. Aur naam bhi nahi pata.

Mallika: kyu? Kahan hai woh?

Anika: I don't know. Mujhe toh yeh bhi nahi pata tha mere father bhi hai...

Mallika: what??

Anika: ah.. woh.. mera matlab mere father zinda hai. Aur main yahan unhe dhund ne hi aai hun.

Mallika: par tum unhe dhundogi kaise??

Anika: pata nahi. Unki ek hi nishani hai mere pass. Yeh...

She showed the pocket watch to her.

Mallika: wow!! It's beautiful.

Anika smiled.

Mallika: okay tell me tum Washington se New York kyu aai. Woh bhi chalke?

Anika: pehla reason yeh hai ke I never saw the outer world. I want to explore and I.... I....

Mallika: kya hua?

Anika: I don't live in Washington.

Mallika: toh kahan?

Anika: matlab I do live there but in an island I didn't even knew that there was a world beyond this.

Mallika: what??

Anika: yeah. I thought Instead of my family there's no one else in the world and all those books I read, I thought they are just stories. But when I grew up I found all these was not just stories.

Mallika: so you were like house arrested?

Anika: what's that?

Mallika: like you were imprisoned in your own house.

Anika: (I am sorry mom I have to lie) ya kind of.

Mallika: so you ran way and came to New York.

Anika: nope

Mallika: then??

Anika: as I got to know about my father. I promise mom that she'll be with him the rest of their life. Due to some reason my mom left my father and took me to that Island. I took her permission to come here. But she doesn't know the second reason is to find my father. Mana ne ke liye bohat pappad belne pade the.

Mallika: whaoww!! I'll help you every possible way.

Anika (smiled): thank you okay let's sleep.

Mallika: ya I am damn sleepy.

She lied on right side of the bed. Anika too lied and after sometime she saw Mallika fast asleep. She went out of the room. And sat on one of the tables. She magically video called Aqua.

"Hey Anika!!" All squealed seeing her. "Shhh!!!" Anika asked them to lower their voice.

"How are you my love??" Asked Celestina. "Completely fine mom. How about you all?"

Marcelline: we all are fine Anika. We just miss you.

Ava: yeah I miss you so much.

Anika: it's just one day guys

Aqua: don't you miss us??

Avalon: why would she? She would be busy exploring.

Anika: not really. But I am missing you all too

Anika narrated everything that happened with her from the beach to Mallika giving her shelter. Skipping the encounter part with Shivaay. They all talked alot and finally after an hour or more they called it a day.

Anika sat there for few mins. Her thoughts went to Shivaay.

Anika: why do I feel like I've seen him before, have I ?? I don't think so. But his eyes.... urghhh!!!!! Leave it. Let's sleep.

She went in room and lying besides Mallika she dozed off thinking about Shivaay.

Next morning

In Oberoi Mansion.

Shivaay woke up early as usual. He yawned and rubbed his eyes to remove the dizziness.

Shivaay: aaj woh sapna kyu nahi aaya??..... waise acha hi hai. Roz roz dar ke uthne se toh acha hi hai.

He hopped down his feets and went to the gym room. He exercised and went to freshen up. He came downstairs to the dinning room. Everyone were present there.

Shivaay: good morning everyone

All: good morning Bhaiyaa/Bhai/ Billu

Dadi: aaja Billu have your breakfast

Shivaay: dadi please.....

Dadi: kya?? Nasta nahi karna??

Shivaay: not that. Don't call that.....

Dadi: kya?

Shivaay: billu... don't call me that

Dadu: kyu?

Shivaay: I don't like that

Dadu: hum toh billu hi bulaenge kya karega?

Shivaay: kuch kar sakta hun?

Dadi: toh phir kyu bol raha hai beth ja.

Shivaay sighed and sat beside Priyanka. They were having breakfast.

Dadi: main kya keh rahi thi billu.

Shivaay: what??

Dadi: shadi ke baare mein kya khayal hai tera?

Shivaay: koi khayal nahi hai. Shadi karne ki kya zarrorat hai.

Dadi: zarrorat hai. Kyu nahi hai? Puri zindagi akela rahene ka iraada hai?

Shivaay: I guess haan

Dadi: kya haan? Mujhe meri bahu chahiye.

Shivaay: haan toh Om hai na. Woh leke aayega aapke liye bahu..

Om: main?.... main kyu?

Dadi: arey bade bhai ki shaadi na hui ho aur chota bhai karle. Yeh kaise chalega.

Rudra: aisa koi rule toh nahi hai. O shaadi karlenge toh bhi chalega.

Om: kyu chalega? Bhai ke shaadi ki baat kar rahe hai. Iss mein main bich mein kahan se aa gaya?

Priyanka: arey par problem kya hai bhaiyaa?

Om: mujhe nahi karni shaadi abhi.

Shivaay: exactly mujhe bhi nahi karni.

Dadi: arey shaadi nahi karega toh bache kithon paida honge?

Shivaay: uss ke shaadi karne ki kya zarrorat hai? Woh toh aise bhi ho jayenge.

The youngesters along with dadu laughed while dadi hit his arm.

Dadi: chup!! Besharam!! Kuch bhi bolta hai.

Dadu: arey Rani Saheba (he call her Rani Saheba) aap kyu piche pade ho isske? Jab karni hogi tab kar lega.

Shivaay: haan

Dadi: ji yeh aap kya keh rahe ho. Umar ho gai hai isski.

Shivaay: what do you mean umar ho gai hai dadi. I am still young.

Dadi: yes your are young. Par right time nikal jane ke baad koi nahi milegi tujhe

Shivaay: aisa kuch nahi hai. Aur secondly koi ladki honi bhi toh chahiye.

Priyanka: kon dadi?

Dadi: Sarah

Shivaay spat the juice out from his mouth and screamed "What???" OmRuPri and Khanna covered their mouth to control their laughter.

Shivaay (horrified): dadi. Kyu meri jaan lene par tuli hui hai aap?

Dadi: haaye rabba kya bol raha hai? Main toh....

Shivaay: dadi main aapko abhi se bata deta hun. Chahe kuch bhi ho jaye. Main Sarah se shaadi nahi karunga bas. Chahe puri duniya mein woh akhri ladki hi kyu na ho.

Dadi: kyu?

Shivaay: she is so clingy. Agar dad ke friend ki beti na hoti toh main usse apne aas pass bhi na aane deta.

Dadi was about to say something but Shivaay stood and went away.

Dadu: Rani Saheba aap kyu usski shaadi ke piche padi hai. Rehne dijiye na. Aap jaanti hai woh aashani se maan ne walon mein se nahi hai

Dadi sighed. Dadu also went.

Dadi: when will I get my daughter - in - law

Khanna: grand daughter - in - law dadi

Dadi: daughter in law hi hoti agar mein 12 saal ki umar mein shaadi na hui hoti toh.

Priyanka: really dadi??

Dadi: haan.

Rudra: par aapne itni jaldi shaadi kyu kar li? And how did dadu agreed?

Dadi: your dadu was 13 then. Aur uss jamane mein child marriage was comman. But luckily I got a great family. Jinhone mujhe aage padhai karne se roka nahi. Mere sasurji ne toh khud kaha tha. That he'll only agree to this alliance if I will continue my studies. Aur tere baap ne bhi jaldi shaadi kar li thi. Tere bhai ki tarah nahi maan hi nahi raha.

Om: yeh jamana alag hai dadi. Shaadi karo ya na karo koi farak nahi padta. Aap Salman Khan ko hi le lo.

Dadi: par....

Rudra (interrupting): dadi!!!

Dadi: theek hai

They all completed their breakfast and went to do their respective works.
