There is so much fucking wrong with this that I don't even know where to start and where to even end.

First of all, WHY oh WHY would you even be looking for art to edit over in the first place?????

DEVIANTART IS FULL WITH MODEL STOCKS THAT ARE FREE FOR USE!!! IT IS FULL WITH STOCK BACKGROUNDS!!! THERE ARE CELEBRITIES ON GOOGLE WHOSE PICS YOU CAN EDIT HOWEVER YOU FCKING LIKE!

WHY WOULD YOU–WITH YOUR WHOLE ENTIRE LEFT AND RIGHT BRAIN–GO AND USE SOMEONE'S ART FOR YOUR NONSENSE GRAPHIC?????

An artist took the time and effort to draw something, and unfortunately for them Pinterest users decided to hawk it like the thieves they are, and now a graphic designer sees it and thinks iTs cOOL uWU and uses it in their design without even a single iota of knowledge of who the artist is.

Here are reasons why you shouldn't be a thief!

1. You can actually be hurting the artist

It was an online friend of mine (won't post names, tf I look like) that opened my eyes to just how horrible a simple repost can affect the artist. She lost a potential job over a repost, bc the company or whatever they call it crosschecked her art and saw it on someone elses account, and therefore could not ascertain if the art was hers or not.

2. The artist is MOST LIKELY not going to be happy if they see it

If i saw my art on some graphic, no matter how pretty or ugly the design is, I would be fucking livid.

Because it's like editing over someone's edit and as a graphic designer you should know how annoying that is.

3. It is not your art.

It's as simple as that 🗿

4. There are so many other resources to use.

Don't use someone's painted background that you aren't even sure if it's for editing. Instead go to FUCKING DEVIANTART and search "BACKGROUND STOCK", like what the actual fuck it isn't that hard.

Do NOT use a digital painting of a person bc "you can't find any models". Shut the fuck up, there are 4958828173628393838282 pictures of real life people you can use, just say you suck at graphic design and GO.

Do NOT use some random FANART(!!!) of an anime or cartoon because "it looks aesthetic uwu" or "i can't find any pictures of my ships".

Shut the fuckkk upppp. You can do a blend edit of the actual anime characters, or even use pngs of the anime characters. You can do typography or just a simple vector.

I have so many anime books but literally none of them have art that doesn't belong to me, or that isn't from the anime itself, on it. It's not that hard to find a good pic from the anime jesus fucking christ–

Fuck out of here with that "bUT sHIP–" bullshit. That art doesn't belong to you and you probably have no idea who the actual artist is but you know, fanart is naturally designed for you to edit over 🙄

Typography. Pics from the actual anime. Vectors. Hell, you can even manipulate the pic of the anime character if you tried.

First of all, you do not know the artist and therefore do not have their consent to use their design in an edit.

Second of all "credit to the artist" is not actual credit what the fuck.
