Chapter {(30)} Drug
Sorry if this took a while, I tried to make it longer as a final chapter. I love you guys, all you need to do is let me know if you want a sequel instead of an epilogue, and I'll get back to you with sincere thoughts of it :3
~
Annabeth paced the hotel room as Percy unpacked everything for her.
She eventually managed to sit down on one of the stools and eat a nectarine. She felt Percy's arms wrap around her waist and she leaned against his chest. His lips connected with her neck, causing her to shiver.
"What're you doing?" He whispered against her skin.
"Just eating. Can you make me some hot chocolate?" She asked.
Percy laughed, "Yeah sure, milk or water?"
"Is that even a question?" Annabeth said disbelievingly.
"Milk it is," Percy laughed.
"Thank you," Annabeth pecked him on the lips before he moved away and warmed up the milk.
Annabeth watched him, making an attempt to throw he nectarine pit-thing in he garbage when he opened the lid.
Clunk!
"Yes!" Annabeth cheered as Percy jumped away from the garbage can.
"Good aim," he noticed.
Annabeth smiled as he put the hot chocolate down in front of her. "'Course," he whispered, kissing her forehead.
Annabeth laced her fingers with his, leaning her head on his shoulder.
Annabeth sipped her hot chocolate and released Percy's hand when he stood up, walking over to the bathroom.
~
Annabeth laid down on the bed, stripping off her shirt and changing into some loose shorts.
Percy was already in bed, in just his boxers. He pulled Annabeth to his chest, planting a kiss on her hair. Annabeth buried her face in his chest, wrapping her arms around his torso.
The comfort of his arms around her, and his skin against hers, calmed her. Her worries temporarily faded.
"I love you," she whispered, her voice muffled by his chest.
"I love you too, Wise Girl, and I can't imagine senior year without you," he whispered back.
She picked up her head and pressed her lips to his, allowing his hands to slide over her curves.
"I don't know how it came to this," Percy said between kisses.
"Me neither," Annabeth said as she pulled away.
She buried her face in his chest again, feeling his fingers drawing circles on her back.
~
Annabeth woke to the smell of pancakes. She rolled over and buried her face in her pillow.
"Annaaabettthhhh," Percy called.
"Nhwhahhst?"
She heard Percy come into the bedroom and sit in the edge of the bed.
"You going to get up? If not, I'll gladly eat all the pancakes," he grinned.
Annabeth looked up at him, rolling over onto her back. Percy kissed her lightly and stood back up.
When he left the bedroom, Annabeth sat up, slinging her legs over the edge of the bed. She slipped into her slippers, and looked down at her legs.
Annabeth put on a tank top, and hopped off the bed.
Percy was sitting on the couch, the pillows over his legs and waist.
"Hey," Annabeth laughed. She grabbed a plate of pancakes and sat down on the couch. She put Percy's feet on her lap so she wasn't sitting on them, and started eating her pancakes.
Annabeth groaned, "I forgot,"
"Forgot what?" Percy asked, stuffing a pancake in his mouth.
"Coffee!" Annabeth yelled.
Percy made a face, "I'll make you some-"
"Starbucks is better," Annabeth noted.
Percy inhaled exasperatedly, "What do you want from Starbucks?"
"Coffee, duh,"
"How detailed," Percy said sarcastically.
"Grande. . . Soy. . . Something cappuccino," Annabeth shrugged.
Percy squinted but stood up, playing with his silver hair, "There was no reason to do this to me,"
Annabeth shrugged again, "How unfortunate,"
~
Percy reentered the hotel room about thirty minutes later. Annabeth was asleep on the couch, and text after text was beeping on his phone.
I went to see you today. . . Said you didn't live there?
-Thalia
Percy quickly told her what happened, (leaving out the pregnancy)because apparently she didn't check her other messages, or it never went through.
Ohkay. Well, I'll be showing up soon. You just had to go four hours away, did you?
-T
Well, we kind of had to get away from her parents.
-P
Why? What did you do that pissed them off?
-T
Oh well. . . I should tell you that in person.
-P
Okay, well I want to know as soon as possible, since I'm already aware that it's something BAD.
-T
Yeah I gtg, Thalia. Annabeth is waking up.
-P
Okay bye Perce
-T
Percy smiled as he realized, even in his texts, his grammar was better than Thalia's.
Annabeth's low key tutoring helped, he supposed.
"Percy," Percy looked at Annabeth, "Give me my coffee,"
Percy grinned and handed her her coffee, sitting down next to her. She was now sitting up, leaning against the arm.
Percy laid his head in her lap and wrapped his arms around her.
"We've got this," he said, though Annabeth was sure he was more trying to convince himself.
~
The last week was going slowly, until Thalia appeared.
She was grinning, while Percy was making food and Annabeth was asleep in the bedroom.
"Where's Annie?" Thalia asked.
"Sleeping," Percy replied shortly. It was a good excuse, judging that it was ten in the morning.
There was a flush of the toilet, "Or throwing up," he added.
Thalia narrowed her eyes, "Is she okay?"
"Yeah, that's actually why I got kicked out. Of her house," he added quickly.
"So, what exactly happened?"
"He got me pregnant," Annabeth said through a cough in the doorway.
Percy paled and Thalia's jaw dropped, "What?! But- wasn't Annabeth your first kiss? Like. . . A few weeks ago? And judging that your eighteen-"
"Thalia," Percy was banging his head on the counter.
Thalia blushed, much to Annabeth's surprise, "Sorry,"
"Well then!" Annabeth laughed.
"Please, please, tell me you were together when you got pregnant!"
Percy shifted and Thalia looked at him blankly, "You- what-no!"
Annabeth approached Percy and punched him in the gut, "You weren't supposed to tell anyone!"
"I didn't even open my mouth!" Percy wheezed.
Annabeth muttered something and hugged Percy, causing him to look at Thalia innocently.
"You two are adorable," she frowned.
"So unThalialike," Annabeth laughed into Percy's chest.
~ Month Four.
Percy and Annabeth had managed to find an apartment, but Annabeth's mood swings terrified Percy, to say the least. One moment they were just snuggling up on the couch, watching T.V, and Annaberh gets mad at him for being too close.
Percy would just squish himself into the back of the couch and let Annabeth have room, while suffocating himself.
Sometimes he would be laughing with Annabeth, over a dinner of spaghetti, and she would just start crying. The crying was the only thing Percy couldn't help.
She would fill out start crying, and Percy felt too awkward to figure out what to do.
And that's why, at this very moment, Annabeth was being cradled in his lap, sobbing.
Absolutely terrifying.
Thalia entered the apartment, putting her spare key back in her pocket. She spotted them and frowned, a look of pity on her face.
"How is she? Other than, you know, the depressing mood swings?" Thalia asked, sitting on the arm of the couch, next to Percy.
"She's fine. . . Normally,"
Thalia wrapped her cousin, and his girlfriend, in a hug.
"I love you guys, and all you have to do is let me know k you're having money troubles, okay?" Thalia said, pulling away from them.
"Okay," Percy frowned as Annabeth started laughing.
"It's like she's insane," Thalia muttered.
~ Month Six
"The appointment is at twelve, Annabeth," Percy assured her as he helped her into a maternity dress.
"I hate being pregnant," Annabeth grunted. "I look fat and tired and-"
Percy cut her off by kissing her, "You're beautiful either way, okay?"
"Okay," Annabeth managed.
"Now, go eat the food I made while I go get dressed. We're leaving in an hour,"
~
The doctors office was cold. Just plain cold. Temperature wise and color wise. The walls were a plain gray and he floor was gross white tile.
The people there were even more odd.
Percy went and signed the paperwork, while Annabeth sat in one of the chairs. Her hand was self consciously on her stomach. The looks she was receiving caused Percy to glare at everyone.
When Percy came and sat down next to her, a few minutes passed.
"Annabeth Chase?" A nurse said, coming from the hallway.
Annabeth took a deep breath and laced her fingers with Percy's. They followed the nurse down the hall and she sat her down on one of the beds.
"So you're here for your very first appointment?" The nurse asked.
"Yeah," Annabeth said, squeezing Percy's hand.
"I'm Tammy, and I assume you're the father?" She looked at Percy.
Percy nodded, "Yeah,"
"Okay, I'm going to just talk to you guys for a bit, and then I'll go get Dr. Cin.
"So, how far along would you say you are, and how is the Morning Sickness treating you?"
"I think I'm six months along, and the morning sickness sucks,"
Tammy laughed, "Indeed it does." She looked through the paperwork Percy had filled out, "You're eighteen, correct?"
Annabeth nodded.
Tammy smiled, "It's not as young as some of the pregnant patients I've had. Do you think you two are responsible enough to raise a child?"
Percy looked at Annabeth, "She is,"
"And you aren't?" Tammy asked gently.
Percy frowned, "Next question?"
Tammy nodded, "What do you do for work?"
"Uh. Percy works for a waste management plant about two hours away from here. He mostly makes enough money just for himself, but he's trying to find a better and more local job.
"I don't really have a job. I babysit every once and a while, but I'll have my own baby to watch constantly,"
"Okay, it sounds like you two are going to be able to manage. I'll go get Dr. Cin," Tammy smiled at them again before leaving the room.
"What do you mean you're not responsible enough?" Annabeth punched Percy's arm.
Percy took a deep breath, "You know how I dealt drugs?"
"Yeah, but you stopped,"
"Doesn't mean I stopped using them,"
