Chapter {(23)} Please?

Okay first of all, I have to mention my insanely sad obsession. Is anyone else overly obsessed with Panic! At The Disco? If so, I LOVE YOU. If not, all you need to do is have one conversation with Brandon Everly and he will have convinced you to listen to the entire album on repeat. I'm starting Harry Potter as soon as my brother finds the dam book x3 I love you peoplez!

~Naomi (According to Brandon, my name is like a fairy x3)

Annabeth managed to keep a straight face, while Percy stared at her, eyes wide. Annabeth blew out through her lips. She squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for Percy to respond. Annabeth was about to look up to see his face, when she felt his hands on her waist.

She almost panicked, but as soon as his lips met hers, she visibly relaxed. As soon as they pulled away, Percy blushed.

"I-um..."

Annabeth rolled her eyes, "You need some confidence."

"I'm pretty sure you don't want me to have an even bigger ego," Percy smirked.

A smile tugged at Annabeth's lips. Forgetting about everyone watching them, she laced her fingers with Percy's, pressing her forehead against his.

~

Annabeth raised her eyebrows as Percy climbed out of the pool, grinning.

"How do you even swim that fast? It's not natural," she noted.

Percy's grin got bigger, and he wrapped his arms around her, causing her to get soaked.

"Percy!" Annabeth yelled.

"Yes, Wise Girl?" he asked innocently.

Annabeth huffed, "You seriously need to stop getting my clothes dirty,"

Percy grinned, "That's technically not your shirt-"

"Stop being a smartass," Annabeth rolled her eyes.

Percy stuck his tongue out, trying to hold in all of his thoughts. Was Annabeth his girlfriend? Is that what this meant?

Percy plastered a smile on his face, "I'm going to go get dressed."

~

Annabeth climbed into her stepmom's car, frowning. Percy had disappeared after she went to the bathroom, and she was panicking.

"How did it go?" Helen asked. She had just pulled up when Annabeth left the building, an unsure look on her face.

"I'm not sure." she frowned.

Helen drummed her fingers on the steering wheel, "I need to show you something."

Annabeth opened her mouth to object, but closed it again. The car peeled out of the parking lot, surprising Annabeth. The modern buildings outside the window slowly changed to old pines. The road turned into a large gravel trail, leaves and weeds littering the area.

The car pulled to a stop, "Out." Helen ordered.

Annabeth's heart hammered against her ribs as she climbed out of the car. Helen had a moment of hesitation before driving away, leaving Annabeth alone, not knowing where she was.

Annabeth grumbled, "Step monster is back."

~

Percy glared at his mom as she drove away, leaving him in the middle of the wood.

"Well then." he muttered.

Percy began trudging through the wood, disregarding the trail his mom drove away on, knowing there were tons of turns. He kicked branches that had fallen on the ground out of his path, shaking the leaves out of his hair.

"Stupid-" push a branch out of his way, "branches-" push, "Agh!" He yelled as a branch slapped back to his face.

He heard a snicker and he whirled around to see Annabeth smirking, her arms crossed over her chest. Percy narrowed his eyes, "Why are you here?"

"Stepmonster dumped me here. Why are you here?" she frowned.

"My mom did the same,"

Silence.

~
