Chapter {(16)} Reality
Annabeth slipped on her shoes and looked in the mirror. Her short-shorts revealed almost all of her legs and her crop-top showed her stomach. What's the school going to do; suspend her for going against the dress code?
Her high heels had to be at least four inches-
"Annabeth! Breakfast is ready!" Matthew called.
Annabeth looked at herself in the mirror again, looking at her overdone makeup and hair. She bit her lip and bounded down the stairs the best she could wearing high heels. Her family looked at her skeptically, and she knew their hopes for her disappeared.
"I thought she had changed," she heard Bobby whisper to Matthew. She resisted the urge to look down and grabbed her bag from the couch.
She exited her house, her heels clicking on the pavement. She climbed into her car, looking at her shoes and sighing. She slipped them off and sat them down on the passenger seat, slipping on some spare shoes she had left in the car the day before.
As she drove to school, her thoughts drifted to Percy. He was a pretty perfect guy, except for the fact he had a huge involvement with drugs. She shook her head and pulled into Goode high's parking lot.
As she climbed out of the car, all eyes turned to her. She kept her head up, adding an extra sway to her hips. Britt was immediately at her side, along with Sammy and Kaia. Britt's caramel hair was in a side braid, flowers added into the mix. Sammy had dark red hair and deep brown eyes. Kaia had a dark complexion, black hair, and green eyes.
Her hair was a braid pulled into a bun and Sammy's hair was curled and hanging loosely around her shoulders. This was a her usual crew, until she met Percy. Annabeth had never really met any of Percy's friends, besides Thalia, and she wasn't sure that counted.
"Annie! I heard you ditched Jackson." Sammy smiled.
Annabeth pondered this, "Yeah. I did."
Britt shot her a look, but Annabeth just glared at her. "So, where's Castellan, Annie?" Kaia asked.
Annabeth cringed, "I don't know."
Britt shrugged, "Neither of us have seen him since-"
Annabeth elbowed her, "Since he disappeared."
"Shouldn't you file a report or something?" Kaia blanched.
"Uh, we did." Annabeth said quickly.
Kaia and Sammy looked at each other, "Okay." They chorused.
Annabeth shifted, "Am I welcome back at the popular table?"
"You always were, Chase." Annabeth spun around to see Drew standing there with her arms crossed.
"Well hello, Tanaka."
Drew cocked her head, "You done with Jackson? Looks like the plan worked," she smirked.
"What plan-" Annabeth quickly caught herself, "Why would I care?"
Kaia shot her a skeptic look and her and Sammy began whispering.
Annabeth scowled and turned away, dragging Britt behind her.
"Annabeth!" A girls voice called.
Annabeth turned to the voice, "What?" She snapped.
"Um, I just want to say.... Stop bullying my friends. They aren't nerds-"
Annabeth droned out her voice, "Listen, I have to admire your bravery for standing up to me, but they are nerds just like you. They don't need positive attention from me so I will keep it negative. As for you; you're on my revenge list because you just humiliated me, letting my friends think I'm not threatening enough and you can stand up for yourself."
There was a small crowd now, and Annabeth saw Percy looking at her with disappointment, Camila standing behind him, shaking her head,
Annabeth's heart lurched and she continued walking as though nothing had happened.

Percy sighed and stared at the T.V, completely disregarding everything his mom said about 'watching T.V until your brains melt out of your ears'. Sure, that will happen.
"Percy! Dinner!" Sally called.
Percy blew out through his lips and got up off the couch, stuffing his hands in his pockets. As he entered the kitchen, his mom bit her lip.
"You okay, mom?" Percy raised his eyebrows.
"I heard what happened. I had invited Annabeth over for dinner, and she explained. Are you and Camila dating?" she asked softly.
"No," Percy said, sitting down, "We are not dating."
Sally shook her head, "You're so oblivious,"
Percy sat up as his mom set his meal in front of him, "What?"
"About both Camila and Annabeth," Sally said, wiping her hands on her apron.
Percy narrowed his eyes, "I have nothing to be oblivious of. Annabeth hates me, and I know Camila likes me,"
Sally smiled faintly, "I wonder how Annabeth is going to react when she figures out you think that,"
Percy furrowed his brows and began eating the spaghetti. Sally dished herself some beforing excusing herself to use the bathroom. Her phone beeped, and Percy picked it up. It was a text from... Annabeth?
Percy entered his moms password, glancing over his shoulder to make sure Sally wasn't coming back.
Hey, Sally. I was wondering if you told Percy? I was hoping you wouldn't, because his ego doesn't need to get any bigger. Love you guys :*
-Annabeth.
Percy quickly deleted it, setting the phone back down right as Sally came back into the room. He picked at his food for a while, before deciding he was too bothered by the text. Of course, he didn't tell his mom that's why he was going to bed, he just said he was tired.
Surry, that's pretty short c': Love you mah darlings ;)
