Annabeth stared at the message on her phone.
Your message has been blocked.
Annabeth tried to send the text again.
You have been blocked, please try again later.
Annabeth yelled in frustration and threw her phone at the wall. She watched, miserably, as it shattered against the wall. Annabeth put her head in her hands. Said blonde stood up shakily, walking over to her dresser.
She pulled open the first drawer, pushing the t-shirts to the side. She pulled out the card she had received from her friend, Hazel, for her seventeenth birthday. It had a huge diamond on the front and some swirly font:
I hope you dream of birthdays far ahead,
And remember this,
As if it were your best.
Remember me,
as if I were your best.
Your best friend,
I'm your best.
Annabeth sighed and opened it. A happy birthday song started blasting and she slammed it shut again. She shook her head and put it back down in the drawer, pulling out the spare phone from a few years ago.
"Stupid Sidekick." Annabeth muttered.
~
Percy sighed and tossed his phone on the couch.
"Annabeth?" Thalia looked at him.
"Yeah," he blew out through his lips and sat on the arm of the couch.
"You know she probably didn't mean that, Percy."
"I know," he fell backwards onto the couch.
Thalia picked up his phone, "You blocked her?"
Percy nodded slowly, "I just don't want to talk to her at the moment."
Thalia sighed, "You're going to have to."
"No," Percy said plainly.
"Yes, Percy, you will talk to her."
"Yeah, no." Percy shook his head.
"Um, yeah!"
Percy glared at her, "I don't want to."
"Well, you're going to." Percy opened his mouth to object but Thalia cut him off, "You're going to get her forgive you enough to bring her to the dance next to week. Understood?"
"What dance?"
Thalia huffed, "The Spring Fling, Kelp Head."
"Oh."
Thalia rolled her eyes, "That means you have twelve days. Good luck, Perce." and she grabbed her keys, striding out of the apartment.

Annabeth had a genius idea. Not really. She dialed Percy's number on her 'new' phone.
After a few rings, he picked up. "Hello?"
"Hey, it's Annabeth."
"Hey, Annabeth." he said shortly.
"I'm sorry," she said quietly.
Percy was silent for a moment, "Are you upset?"
Annabeth sighed, "About what?"
"Me ignoring you, or getting mad at you...."
"I'm a little upset about you ignoring me... But you had every right to be mad at me."
"No, I didn't. I didn't have the right to ever be mad at you, because everything you say is true. I could have a lab somewhere-"
"Excuse you?"
"-But I don't."
Annabeth sighed. Again. "Okay, Seaweed Brain."
Annabeth could practically hear Percy smirk, "Okay."
Annabeth grinned, "Okay."
~
"Okay bye, Wise Girl."
"Bye, Seaweed Brain."
Percy hung up and grinned, dialing in Thalia's number.
"Hello, who is this?" a voice on the other line answered, who definitely wasn't Thalia. First of all, it was male-
Percy furrowed his brows, "Thalia's cousin. Who is this?"
"This is ______ hospital. Thalia got into a car accident, do you know where she was going?"
Percy took a deep breath, "Yeah, she was going home."
"From where?"
"My house," Percy sighed.
"Could you come to the hospital please? It would be good for Miss Grace to have to some company."
Jason wasn't there? "Yeah, I'll be there soon."
Percy tossed his phone onto the coffee table and hopped up, grabbing his jacket. He slipped it on and grabbed his phone again, dialing Annabeth's number.
~
Annabeth tucked her phone in her pocket and headed out of her room, winking at Matthew, who was just exiting the bathroom. He grinned at her and bounded off his to his bedroom.
"Dad!" she called as she ran down the stairs.
Fred{e}rick popped his head out the kitchen door, "Yes?"
"I'm going to the hospital. Friend got in an accident," Annabeth said, grabbing her coat.
"Okay, be safe, honey."
Annabeth smiled at her father and ran out the door, pulling her hair up into a ponytail. Annabeth climbed into the car and typed the hospital Percy had mentioned into the GPS. She sighed as she pulled up to the building, immeditaely spotting Percy's gray car.
Annabeth ran inside the building, rushing past people. She spotted Percy arguing with a doctor and slowed her pace as she neared him.
"Let me-" Percy started.
Annabeth put a hand on his shoulder and he slumped, "What's going on?"
"He won't let me see Thalia," Percy frowned.
"It's family only-"
"I'm her cousin!" Percy yelled.
"You can see her when a parent or aunt or uncle comes. Sorry, kid."
Percy huffed, "That's a worthless policy if family isn't allowed to go in."
The doctor frowned and walked away, leaving Percy to glare after him. Annabeth brushed his hair out of his face, "Do you know how she's doing, at least?"
Percy nodded, "She's stable... I think."
Annabeth sighed, "Did you call your mom?"
Percy rolled his eyes, "I'm not that stupid, Wise Girl. Of course I did."
Annabeth smirked, "So, you don't deny being stupid."
Percy frowned, "I would be lying if I denied it."
Annabeth shook her head, still smirking. "Well, now I know you own up to your stupidity."
He froze, "Yeah. I do,"
"Percy... Are you hiding something? Again?"
Percy didn't meet her gaze, "Possibly,"
Annebth sighed, "Later."
