Chapter {(11)} Grace
Annabeth counted the money, "Exactly two eighty."
Percy rolled his eyes, "I told you we cold trust Chris."
Annabeth glared daggers at him, "Actually-"
"If you're about to go on about me not being able to trust him because he's greedier than I first expected, I will literally murder somebody."
Annabeth squinted, "I thought you were one of the peaceful ones."
Percy smirked, "Guess not."
Annabeth rolled her eyes, "Where did you put Percy?"
Percy blinked, "Right here." her pointed to himself.
Annabeth rolled her eyes, grinning. "You know-"
"You dizzy yet?"
Annabeth shook her head, "You will not let that go, will you?"
"Nope."
"Fine. If I tell you I'm dizzy, will you drop it?"
"No, because I know you're lying just to get out of it."
Annabeth huffed, "You're really difficult."
"That's my job." Percy smirked.
Annabeth tossed him the money and he stared at her blankly. "You're letting me keep this?"
"Nope. I'm letting you give it to Piper and tell her that you're done helping her."
Percy sighed, "Fine."
~
Annabeth elbowed Percy in the ribs, knocking on the apartment door.
Piper opened the door, grinning, "Hey, Percy. And... Annabeth."
"She caught me." Percy shrugged.
Piper looked Annabeth up and down, "Come in."
Percy and Annabeth entered the apartment, "Why can't your dad pay for this?" Annabeth asked.
Piper sighed, "He can't know where I am."
"Why not?" Annabeth narrowed her eyes.
"He's the reason I left."
"Why would you leave because of him?"
Piper shrugged, "He was getting desperate. He was craving publicity. He changed, Annabeth. I didn't have any privacy living with him."
Piper looked at Percy expectantly, and he tossed her the money. "Thanks, Percy. It's been a lot of help."
"About that..."
Piper raised her eyebrows. "I can't help you anymore."
"My dad can probably get you guys terrible-"
"Yeah, about that." Annabeth interrupted. "Your dad doesn't know where you are, and I bet if he did, he would like to give Percy recognition because he got you to talk to your dad. Why is that? Because you would have to contact your father to get him to punish the Jackson's.
"So, you can reveal yourself to your father or let Percy off the hook. It's your choice, Piper." Annabeth crossed her arms.
Piper huffed, "You're good, Percy."
~
Percy smirked, falling facefirst onto the couch. Annabeth sat down in his back, successfully causing him to groan.
"What's up, Percy?" Annabeth teased.
"You, obviously." his voice was muffled by the cushions.
Annabeth grinned and jabbed her thumb under his shoulder blade. Percy yelped and sat up, causing Annabeth to fall on the floor.
"Ow."
"Sorry," Percy blushed.
Annabeth got up and sat on the arm of couch, flicking Percy's nose.
"You guys are like a married couple."
Percy and Annabeth jumped, looking over at Percy's cousin, Thalia.
"You guys totally showed me up at the beach." she frowned.
Annabeth's eyes widened and Percy had to resist the urge to laugh, "Yeah.. sorry about that..."
Thalia huffed and sat down, "Did you guys even realize-"
"Wait! Did you say we acted like a married couple?" Annabeth hissed.
"There it is,"
Annabeth crossed her arms, "We aren't even-"
"Don't even start." Thalia cut her off.
"Start what-"
"Annabeth, it's not worth it." Percy laughed.
Annabeth rolled her eyes. Percy opened his mouth to say something, but Annabeth beat him to it. "I think I finally got dizzy, Percy." she said mockingly.
Percy huffed and Thalia grinned, "How does that feel, Percy? Biting your own dust?"
"Shut up," Percy muttered.
Thalia and Annabeth high-fived.
~
Percy watched in awe as Thalia shot the target with perfect accuracy. They had driven down to the archery range (at least that's what Percy thought it was called) and Thalia had proved the was an amazing archer.
"Give it," Annabeth grinned.
Thalia handed her the bow and an arrow. Annabeth nocked the arrow and exhaled. She re;eased it and it stuck half an inch away from Thalia's arrow.
Thalia nodded slowly, "That, um..."
Annabeth smiled smugly, "Watch this, though."
She grabbed another arrow, inspecting it. Suddenly, she whipped around and fired the arrow.
Percy and Thalia stared at the arrow. It had landed in the tiniest of spaces between her first arrow and Thalia's arrow.
"So," Annabeth said casually, "Where to now?"
~
Annabeth ran inside of the restaurant, leaving Percy and Thalia to walk in in the rain. Thalia was ranting about something and Percy looked exasperated. Percy pushed the doors open and approached Annabeth, shaking the water out of his hair.
Cold droplets hit her face, "Percy!" she complained.
"That's what you get for leaving us out in the rain." he grinned.
Thalia whispered something in his ear and he blushed, "No."
She made a face, "You better do it soon."
"Do what?" Annabeth asked.
The cousins looked at her, "Nothing."
Annabeth crossed her arms, "Pleeeeease!"
Thalia smirked, "You'll know soon enough."
Annabeth raised her eyebrows when Percy ribbed her.
"Well, what are we gonna get for dinner?" Percy changed the subject.
"We're at Tuscanos. Fedicini Alfredo," Thalia said wistfully.
"Agreed." Annabeth smirked.
~
"I wonder if I could get alcohol," Thalia said randomly, flipping through the menu.
"You're underage, there's no way-"
Thalia gasped sarcastically, "Percy, you haven't told her about the fake ID's?"
Percy smirked, "One thing at a time, Pinecone Face."
"You have fake ID's?" Annabeth hissed.
Percy glared at Thalia, "Yes we do."
"And for what purpose, exactly?"
"Parties."
"What kind of parties?"
"Parties underage kids can't get into."
Annabeth huffed and crossed her arms, leaning back in her chair.
"So, Perce, when are you going to ask Annabeth-"
Percy kicked Thalia's shin. Thalia frowned and tossed the menu back down on the table.
"Why won't you just do it already?" she whined.
"Because. She's pissed at me at the moment." Percy said quietly, so only Thalia could hear.
"She can't be that mad about a fake ID, can she?"
"That's not all she's mad about, Thalia."
Thalia raised her eyebrows, "She found out about the drugs."
"Only that I'm dealing them."
"What are you going to tell her when she figures out you use them?"
Percy glanced at Annabeth, who was scrolling on her phone. "I don't know."
