Switched Part Two- Scully

Scully raised her head. Technically, it was Mulder's head, but she wouldn't bother herself now with technicalities. Mulder looked up at her through her own eyes. Scully could barely comprehend what happened but she knew that if she was to figure out how to switch Mulder and herself back, she had to understand. "Where's the cube?" Speaking in Mulder's deep, familiar, and masculine voice unnerved her. Vouching to ignore it though, Scully looked around her Living Room. It was just the same as always except for one crucial thing. The cube was gone.

After pointing this fact out to Mulder, they both spread through the house to search for it. Maybe, maybe it had mysteriously moved to another room, hidden itself in a closet or something. After nearly half an hour searching, they both conceded defeat. She joined Mulder wearily on the couch, both trying to think of something to help their situation. As their predicament started to truly sink in, panic replaced her shock. How would they keep this a secret? Of course, they couldn't tell a soul what had happened, that was absurd. They'd probably be put into mental institutions! The better question was, how would they keep this secret from their friends and family? It was the 23rd of December and tomorrow, her family would be expecting her for Christmas Eve...

Scully jumped up and ran Mulder's fingers through Mulder's hair. "Mulder, I've just remembered, I've got to go to the Christmas Eve party at my brother's house tomorrow! My whole family will be there!"

"Well, can't you cancel?" Mulder inquired, almost calmly.

"No, of course not! I've promised them I'd be there."

"Shit." She couldn't help but agree with Mulder's statement. "Well, obviously, I've got to go there, but I have no idea who your family are. I mean, I've met your mother and Meliss-" His words petered out into silence. Scully's sister had died, almost a year before. Mulder cleared his throat. "You have to train me on how to act. And, I'll train you how to act."

Nodding, Scully agreed with his plan, already thinking about tomorrow. Of course, Mulder didn't know about her eldest brother and her younger brother. William and Charles. William was now thirty eight and Charles twenty eight. Then her mother, how would Mulder ever fool her mother? "Mulder, we better start now."

Mulder, inhabiting Scully's body fidgeted uncomfortably. "Um, Scully? I need to pee." Scully groaned.

"Fine, but make it quick, you've got 2 minutes. Starting now!" Mulder ran off to the bathroom, unwilling to face her wrath if he even stayed for a second more in the loo.

It was late at night now, and Scully had just finished quizzing Mulder. If he was asked any question ranging from her favorite character in Moby Dick to her early childhood, he now knew. From experience, Scully knew just how festive and reminiscent these Christmas Parties could be. In turn, Mulder had told her the basic details of his childhood, family life, and career, for a future time when she needed it. Who knew how long they'd have to stay like this? Scully glanced at the clock. 2 a.m. "Let's go to sleep Mulder, we've got to wake up at eight. We need to be at my Mother's house by 10." Mulder groaned in protest but complied anyway.

Mulder slept in a spare bedroom that night, while Scully curled up in her own bed. Mulder's legs being longer than hers, they almost hung off the bed. The bed had felt so large last night when she had fallen asleep but now the thick comforter almost bound her legs to the surface of the bed. She decided to just kick off the covers and go to sleep.

Scully opened her eyes, the morning light slanting into them. She yawned, raising them above her head. Rolling out of bed, she padded softly to the bathroom. Locking the door behind her, she stared openly at the mirror. Mulder's face stared back at her. His brown hair was disheveled, flattened on the side and standing on the other. The shirt she had slept in was the same as the one she had worn yesterday. Scully had prayed and hoped feverishly the night before that it was just a silly dream but no, it was not.

Readying herself for the inevitable, Scully pulled off the shirt. Barely glancing at the mirror, she continued to undress then let the water run, checking the temperature. She looked anywhere but at the mirror, trying to ignore the fact that she was standing naked in her partner's body. Stepping into the warm shower, the water ran over Mulder's toned and muscular form. Soaping herself carefully, she dared not run more than her fingers along the more private areas and only once cast her eyes down. "Hmm, he has a pretty big- Get your head out of the gutter, Dana!" Scully finished her shower quickly, wrapped a towel around her and exited the bathroom.

When Mulder decided ten minutes later to finally come down to the kitchen, Scully was already cooking breakfast. She set a plate of eggs and bacon in front of him and a cup of coffee. They ate quietly and Mulder, who had noticed his err, her drying hair said nothing. Mulder ascended the stairs to wash up and Scully washed their dishes. It unnerved her greatly that Mulder was now washing her body but she tried at best to ignore it. Scully entered her room, rifling through her closet quickly for something to wear. She opted on making Mulder dress into the knee length red dress she'd gotten last Christmas from her sister. Scully thought morosely that she wouldn't ever be getting a gift from Melissa ever again. She dressed into Mulder's dress shirt which she had laundered last night and pulled on the pants. Mulder knocked on her door, wearing only a towel. "Um, Scully?"

"Come here, Mulder. Put this on. Don't worry, I'll put the makeup on later." Getting Mulder zipped into the dress wasn't easy. Obviously, he wasn't used to such tight fitting clothes.

"Scully..." He whined pitifully as she shoved it over his head and zipped the back. Half an hour later, they were on the road out of D.C., slightly late. Mulder had insisted he not wear any makeup, but eventually, Scully had applied it in the respective places.

"Let's go, Mulder. Remember to refer to me as yourself."

"Got it," Mulder nodded, mouth set in a determined line. He stepped forward and knocked on the white door.
