I was bored and asked my friends for prompts. One of them gave me "The streets were deserted..." - not much, but I made something out of it. I will make a cover later :)
It was getting late. The streets were deserted and the only light came from the single lamp on the sidewalk, and yet Kalili Mary still stood outside in the rain, waiting. Seconds passed by. A light in the apartment building behind her flicked off. A door slammed shut. But Kalili Mary just stood there waiting.
Morning came the next day. Kalili Mary stood tall, waiting. Doors opened. People talked. But Kalili Mary just stood there waiting.
Afternoon rolled by. Workers came back. Greetings echoed down the street. But Kalili Mary just stood there waiting.
Night appeared once more. Lights turned off. It started to rain. But Kalili Mary just stood there waiting.
Morning arrived. One small girl dressed in black approached Kalili Mary, standing on her stool."Good morning, Kalili Mary."
Kalili Mary did not respond or move. Kalili Mary just stood there waiting.
People walked past. Doors opened. Doors closed. Lights turned on. Lights turned off. Days past. But Kalili Mary just stood there waiting.
The small girl dressed in black approached once more."Thank you, Kalili Mary," she said, and set a flower down at the statue's feet. The End.
