Peace
It's always struck me as strange,
That Achilles as a hero
Is held high
And so revered.
All he did was take
The life of Priam's son.
(An easy task
When but for one point
You're indestructible)
He spared a slave girl,
Not for her own good,
But to soothe his savage pride.
It was Odysseus's
Sly Greek gift plan,
That drew short
A drawn-out siege,
And saved Agamemnon's skin.
Let us celebrate in lieu,
Those that turn the other cheek
And instead of taking up
Spear and shield,
Are brave enough to choose to speak
Loud and strong that secret weapon,
Aim it straight and true at
The warlord's heel,
Make all war cease,
Have the bells peal in resonance,
That mythic word we all should know:
Peace.
