6: Bothersome Snake and Introductions

The wind was cold despite the warm air from earlier as I walked outside of the village quietly. For once I was completely alone without Sasayaki accompanying me like normal. It was almost lonely. The sounds of the wind howling filled my ears as it blew up dust and fallen leaves into the air. The bandages around my eyes felt damp and suffocating as my skin begged me to tear them off, but I couldn't. I was not good enough to be able to see the colors of the world with my own eyes. This information had been drilled into my mind for years on end causing me to eventually believe it. The suffocating feeling from the bandages were forgotten as a new, stronger force wrapped itself around my neck causing me to tense considerably. My peaceful walk now just a distant memory as the snake made itself comfortable around my neck and right shoulder.

"Himei. It has been a while...hasn't it?" The hesitance in my voice made me cringe as I addressed the black snake out loud. The wind only seemed to pick up at the male snake's arrival causing my heart to drop as I allowed a scowl to make it's way onto my face.

"Relaxss Kami. I jussst noticced your lack of companionssship and decccided to check on you." Himei responded innocently, but the dark intent laced in his words did not help me relax as I forced myself to loosen my muscles.

"Himei. I am not in need of your company as of right now." I stated firmly as I used two fingers to pull at his body that was curled around my neck too tightly for my liking.

"Isss that sso? Then where iss Sssassayaki? Hmmm?" The snake questioned patiently causing me to grit my teeth in annoyance.

"She will be right back." Anger fueled my voice as I finally got Himei to loosen his grip around my neck. Sasayaki had been gone too long which allowed Himei to appear as they do not normally stick with me at the same time. Sasayaki symbolized inner peace and responsibility while Himei, her opposite, represented destruction and insanity. The two canceled each other out and generally did not get along. To say it was safer for everyone when Sasayaki was with me was an understatement.

"Well I'll just wait for her to get back then." He remarked as his tongue flicked across my cheek causing my scowl to deepen.

"Fine." I growled before turning around and making my way back to the village. Locating Naruto's chakra I made my way quickly silently onto the roof and noticed that everyone was here, including the Jōnin who I assume is supposed to be our sensei.

"YOU'RE LATE!!" Naruto screamed as I stood quietly beside him.

"SHUT UP NARUTO! Don't worry about him Kami-kun! We only got here a few minutes ago! You only missed introductions!" Sakura giggled nervously as I turned towards her.

"That's very reassuring. Thank you Sakura-chan." I bowed slightly in a formal way to show my sincere gratitude. The Jōnin cleared his throat pulling my attention from Sakura and I immediately faced him frowning.

"You are the man from this morning aren't you? The one from my home? I recognize your chakra." I stated calmly as my eyebrows furrowed slightly.

"W-well, yes that would be me. My name is Kakashi." He stuttered slightly in embarrassment of being called out causing me to smirk a little.

"Nice to meet you again, Kakashi-sensei." I bowed once again, this time respectfully as Himei tightened around my neck causing my smirk to disappear so that my face showed no emotion.

"Please. Introduce yourself." He ordered and I nodded slightly.

"My name.. Is Kami. Or Kami-Shun. I was also called Shun, but I have decided that only my old friends from before can call me that. Hmm, I like snakes, dogs, and storms. Storms because whenever there is lightning I can see a little past my bandages which rarely happens. Umm, I dislike my bandages and the people who put them on me and not being able to remember my past. My dream... well I guess my dream is to eventually be good enough to remove my bandages from my eyes, so I can finally deserve to see the world how it really is again." I answered truthfully and was met with silence.

"Umm Kami-kun," Sakura started hesitantly causing me to look at her. "Isn't your snake usually white?" She questioned and my eyes widened suddenly as I remembered that Sasayaki wasn't with me.

"Sasayaki!!" I yelled and turned to jump off the roof.

"Wait-!" Kakashi yelled, but I was already gone.
