3 years later

After escaping Orocimaru two days ago I have been walking around endlessly with my albino snake, Sasayaki. She was originally just a summoning, but eventually she became my beloved companion. Today I still wear the blindfold that was forced upon me at first, but it is now something I have grown to live with. I can still see everything for the most part, but for me to see color I must touch the object I wish to see. That is how I know of Sasayaki's color.

"Sasayaki?" I signed to the snake that hung around my neck and upper left arm.

"Yess?" She hissed out making sure to drag out the 's' as she tried to do with everything.

"What do you think of me getting a puppy?" I asked and she tightened around my neck lightly.

"Kami.. Why do you inssitsst that we take in an animal?" She questioned causing me to sigh audibly.

"I just.. Want some normality. Please Sasayaki! I promise the puppy won't replace you!!" I signed panically, but the snake never replied which I took as a "no."  After a few moments of silence she shifted slightly resting her head on my right shoulder.

"If we find a stray then maybe." She stated calmly and I smiled happily throwing my fist up in triumph.

"Thank you. Thank you, thank you!" My signing was faster than normal causing her to hiss at me in annoyance. I hadn't realized I had stopped walking until I sensed chakra straight ahead of me, but not getting any closer than it was. The person ahead was definitely strong and there presence held a sense of authority, this alone made me tense. It reminded me of when I was captured by Orochimaru. I was only 7 then. Suddenly my body was lifted from the ground causing me to gasp as my body was flung forward at an alarming speed. A hand made it's way around my neck right above Sasayaki causing her to hiss at the person holding me tightly as I gasped for air.

"It's a child, Itachi." The voice spoke as I fell to the ground as he released me.

"It seems that way Pain." A man responded dully as I got back to my feet. My face I'm sure was blank of emotion since this man's actions did not effect me as it probably would have others. Fear was one thing I could not feel so that reaction is not something I would know of. Anger is much like fear. After being tortured and beaten for three years took away many emotions for me.

"What is your name child?" A voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I turned my head towards the direction of the voice before signing.

"Kami. That is what he called me."

"Starting today, we shall call you Shun. I doubt people would like calling you God." Itachi stated calmly and I nodded accepting my new name. These people will become my only family.
