11: Changes

After an hour or so of packing and training, the team had set off. The bickering had started as soon as we stepped outside the village, leaving both Sasayaki and Kakashi annoyed. It was disconcerting to me however, since I was busy adjusting my new robe. The neck did not stop at my collar bone, instead it made it's way up further to slightly cover my face which was quite different for me.

"Umm Kami-kun? What happened to your other robe?" Sakura asked hesitantly as she placed a hand on my shoulder causing me to stop and look back slightly.

"Tazuna ripped it." My voice held no emotion and was cold as I spoke the bridge builder's name.

"Ssstill holding a grudge Kami?" Sasayaki questioned, but I refused to answer as a slight amount of chakra caught my attention and I cautiously made my way forward. As I was about to say something to the others, a hand planted itself firmly on my shoulders causing me to stiffen slightly.

"Keep calm Kami. I need to check something." Kakashi whispered and I nodded and kept quiet as we walked past the spot of chakra. Screams were heard and Kakashi's chakra disappeared instantly causing me to whip around quickly only to be almost sliced in the face with claws. The claws tore my bandages slightly causing me to gasp as they slipped from my eyes down to my mouth. With eyes now exposed I growled in anger as I took out my shuriken before launching them at my attacker causing them to dodge as expected. Dashing forward I quickly jumped up and kicked the ninja in the face sending him flying backwards into the others as Sasuke and Kakashi, whom I did not notice reappear, tied them up using the attackers chains.

"Sasuke good job, you too Sakura, Kami. Sorry Naruto I would've stepped in earlier, but I didn't expect you to get scared and freeze like that." Kakashi's voice was distant as I lifted my hand up to my face feeling the bandages that were now loosely wrapped around my mouth. Out of all the ways to regain my true sight, a small battle was not an option I had thought of. For once I could see colors with my eyes open. The greens of the trees and grass were so much different than I had remembered, Chakra vision did the colors no justice.

"Kami?" I hummed looking up causing Sakura to gasp.

"Your eyes Kami-kun! They're like a snakes!" Sasayaki hummed in approval and I closed my eyes quickly shaking my head, hoping to return my eyes to whatever they normally were. Kakashi stared at me for a moment as Sakura got close to my face inspecting my eyes quite curiously.

"Are you that curious of my eyes that you've forgotten personal space my little blossom?" I asked almost emotionlessly, but there was an underlying teasing that secretly laced my voice. I watched as her face turned bright red as she stuttered for an excuse.

"It's just your eyes! They're so beautiful-! I mean! Umm they're almost like the rainbow is all!" I smiled at her words as Kakashi motioned us all forward.

"Thank you my little blossom."
