10: Tazuna

The next few days passed by and now here we were, stalking a cat. I had taken out my earpiece because I didn't trust Naruto, not to scream in my ear, while I was wearing it. Sasayaki curled aroun my neck peacefully as I carefully handled the live mouse that scurried around in my hand. Faintly I could here my teammates call out there positions as I calmly walked over to the kitty before stopping about a foot away from it.

"C'mere Tora~." I cooed quietly dangling the mouse in front of me by it's tail causing it to panic. The cats ear perked up at the mouse's cries and made it's way towards me until it was suddenly scooped up by an orange blur causing me to frown.

"Naruto..." the cat scratched at the boy mercilessly causing Naruto to scream. Sighing I let go of the little mouse and got up to take Tora from the poor boy.

"Target identified?" Kakashi called and Sasuke confirmed as I pet the furry animal.

"Do you like cats Kami-kun?" Sakura piped up and I turned to face her as we walked to the Hokage Tower.

"Like? Hmm I don't know, I've never had any animal other than Sasayaki and err.. Himei. So I've never experienced what having a cat is like, therefore I wouldn't know." I stated honestly and she nodded deep in thought.

"Tora!!" The cat was snatched from my arms as soon as we entered the room causing me to frown slightly annoyed with the loud woman.

"No wonder the cat ran away." Sakura muttered and I couldn't help but agree with her. Tora let out a few cries of discomfort as the woman left, leaving us in the Hokage's office without a single look back.

"Now that we've got that out of the way. We've got plenty for you to do..." the Hokage's words left me as my mind wondered. I could hear Naruto's objections loud and clear, but my mind stayed unfocused until the office door suddenly opened causing me to drift my attention to it.

"What the- a bunch of snot noses kids." I glared through my bandages at the rude newcomer already not liking this assignment.

"He reeksss." Sasayaki hissed loudly causing me to chuckle.

"What was that?!" I was suddenly lifted into the air by my robe and Sakura let out a small gasp.

"Sasayaki said you reek, which you do. I suggest you put me down before my nose falls off due to that revolting breath of yours." My words were calm and even, but there was a seriousness in them.

"Damn brat," the man let me go shoving me backwards a little causing Sasayaki to hiss threateningly. "And you, the little one with the idiotic look on your face! You actually expect me to believe you're a ninja?" I scowled at the man as Naruto laughed.

"Alright who's the one with the idiotic face? Huh!" I looked in Naruto's direction to find he was the shortest of our team causing him to growl. "I'll demolish you! Let me-." Kakashi grabbed Naruto as I pet Sasayaki soothingly, trying to calm her down.

"Naruto you can't demolish the client. You're suppose to protect him." Kakashi scolded, but I begged to differ. This man was a real nuisance.

"I'm Tazuna, the master bridge builder. I must return home to finish the bridge there and you must get me there safely, even if it means giving up your lives." I had lost all interest in this man an started making my way to the door.

"I'll see you all in a couple of hours," as soon as I stepped out of the building I sighed in frustration, ruffling my hair as my free hand touched my the small tear in my robe. "That old man messed it up..." I trailed off thinking about what else I had to wear back at home as I started walking mindlessly.

"Didn't Itachi give you that robe Kami?" Sasayaki asked quietly, causing me to tense slightly.

"We need to send the child away now, Itachi." Zetsu had said quite urgently as Itachi paced around my small room.

"Orders are orders." Kisame spoke patting my head, but there was an edge in his voice that threw me off.

"Leave."

"Itachi-"

"I said leave. Now. I will be the one to take Shun away from here. I will guarantee you that. Just leave." His voice was cold and the two members obeyed as I stared blankly into my dark abyss.

"Here," Something was thrown into my hands making me look up in confusion. "This robe, I want you to have it." I felt the robe, curious of what it looks like. At the bottom, it was completely black, almost as black has my world was behind the bandages, but as I ran my hand upwards the color slowly changed into a dark blue until it was a bright airy purple.

"What is this part Itachi?" My voice was low as I felt the colors with admiration.

"Those are flames. At first they start off black until it shifts to blue and then to purple,"  I nod smiling as i spread my hand across the fabric of the robe. "The sash is white and the rest of the robe is red until you get close to the end of the sleeves, then it turns black again, with the small outlines of clouds."

"Clouds?" I tilted my head slightly.

"Yes clouds, but theses ones are not shaded in red like mine they only have a white outline and are shaded black so that you have no connection to us. On the inside there's something special, something no one must see. Understood?" I nodded smiling before launching myself at Itachi, hugging him tightly.

"I'll miss you Itachi." He hugged me back.

"I'll miss you too... Shun."

That day was the last day I saw Itachi, but that day we both had a silent agreement. We were family. Blood or not. Inside the robe was something that shocked me beyond belief, but it supported our agreement strongly. It was, the symbol of  Itachi's family, the infamous Uchiha crest.
