Thoughts:

It took me a couple of chapters to warm to this [I'll get to that in a moment] but I think this is a good start to an interesting story with an interesting premise. I like the art at the top of each chapter. I also like most of these characters, which is a good thing. Ryu's kind of annoying, but I think he's supposed to be, so...

Now, if Jax could produce more of this, that would be great.

There were a couple of things I wasn't excited about, though.

I don't know if the prologue was needed. The writing is pretty, but if anything I kind of feels like it gives the rest of the book away. I could, of course, just be assuming, but in any case this isn't a case where I thought the prologue was necessary or even added much of anything to the book. 

I... hate the first chapter. There's some information vital to the story here, but the most that happens is Evelyn sees Ryu and bumps into Ai in the hallway, and this is all broken up awkwardly between paragraphs of info just... dumped onto us. I really don't need to know how long you and Ryu have been friends, for example, nor do I particularly care yet. I feel like the second chapter might've been a better start to this story, with prudent details from chapter one woven into it so that the story remains interesting and we also get told what we need to know. That's one way I would suggest fixing it. Or... remove a lot of the extraneous details and give this first chapter a bit more to it than just a scene in a hallway.

Perhaps it's just me, but I'd love having a more finite idea of where this is all taking place, because I'm not entirely sure. I know there seems to be a decent Japanese population, but then there are characters like Evelyn and Andrew and both Ryu and Ai are not from wherever this book is set... 

I really want to see where this book goes, so hopefully Jax updates it soon. There's a good amount of humor in this mixed with the plotline and the characters are cool. And also, I really want to see what happened to Ai...
