Thoughts:

I wanted to like this, because there's potential here. However, I really couldn't.

The writing feels like it's trying too hard. There's a lot of 20$ words in a sea of 5$ ones and like. Big words are great. I love big words. However, you have to know how to use them and how to appropriately place them, which this author did not exactly do. And it's because the writing is trying so hard that I had a hard time reading it. If I put the book down for a couple of days - because I'm working and have had finals and yaknow, writing my own projects - I had to start the book all over again.

Which leads me to my next problem. I have no fucking clue what the plot is. All I really know is there's a werewolf, some weird things are happening to her, and there was a two-chapter sequence dedicated to her transformation. I'll get to that in a second. But beyond that.... What am I reading about? I really don't know. I have no clue. I don't know why I should care that this MC is having Weird Sensations. I don't know why I should care about her at all, if I'm to be honest. I'm glad there's no mates present and I'm glad this isn't just another "escape from/take over the pack" novel but... I really need something more here. 

And... the transformation sequence. It was two chapters long and went into SUCH extensive detail. Why? I don't think MC is a doctor, so I doubt she knows the names of literally all the bones and muscles that changed in this process. Furthermore, why did it take two chapters? What is so important about all of that? I understand it's lengthy and painful and literally everything changes, but there are better, simpler means by which to get this across. It dragged down the pacing and only really annoyed me by the end of it.

On the whole, I restarted this book four times and the final time, got to chapter 12 before I got too annoyed. There's some promising things here, but it's heavily, heavily muddled by everything else.
