Thoughts:

I tried to read this a couple of times. The first time was a whirlwind of confusion. The second time, I understood more, and got farther, but there's so much weight in this prose it's like I'm trying to swim while wearing five winter coats on top of each other. I'm drowning.

The heaviest problem is the writing itself. It uses a lot of strange word choices, and half of these paragraphs are a single sentence long. It makes reading a bit of a headache, and it means getting to the point of what I'm reading takes way too long. Sophisticated writing is one thing, but writing so convoluted you have to squint to know what you're reading is a whole other subject. This was the latter.

The other thing that made me scratch my head is the narration. I think it's omniscient, or it headhops. Can't quite tell. Even more confusing is there isn't much in way of scene breaks. So, for the... first chapter, I guess, we start in a carriage from Premier's sort of perspective, then move to focusing on Ophiro, then Rion, then back to Premier. No scene breaks. And one or two might have been helpful. For example, without these scene breaks, we move from Rion jacking off to the Premier sitting next to his dead wife. That is... such emotional whiplash that reading it the first time I got so...wildly confused.

Also, gotta say, couldn't help but giggle reading Rion masturbate. The writing is so purple and the descriptions for... certain parts so comical that it is very hard to take that scene seriously.

Also also speaking of that scene, Rion wants sex, Ophiro says no, Rion tries to do it anyway and gets punched in the face. Way to make me feel for these characters. I do feel, alright. I feel anger at Rion. I'd punch him, too.

Then we get to the next chapter and... apparently these two are twins?

It was hard to tell what was happening at all at any time, and eventually I was so confused and frustrated that I just kinda gave up. The writing is so hard to follow and what I can understand, I'm not fond of.
