Title: She's Not There

Thoughts:

There's a lot of things that are done well in this project and that I applaud the author for. Shelley's dad dies, she grieves in her own way, she tries to move on and everyone around her treats her like she's going to break. I empathize with her annoyance at how everyone handles her and it's wrote about well. Really, this entire book is. I like it and I hope it updates soon, cause I'll definitely keep reading. 

The problem is, I don't think the story starts soon enough. 

Of all the chapters available, we don't even meet who else the story is about - Danica - until chapter eight, which in my opinion is quite late. I understand that things had to be established - her dad's death and how people handle her, mainly - but to be honest I got the picture after chapter three. It kinda felt like beating a dead horse by chapter five. The summary made this sound like it's about Shelly and Danica... and I've seen very little Danica. She's appeared in two chapters. That needs to improve, pronto.

Aside from Danica and Shelly and Shelly's mom, these characters don't really jump out at me. They're... typical teenagers. They're annoying. To be honest, I had a hard time picking Shelly's "friends" apart from each other. But maybe that was just me.
