Thoughts:

This... really hurt to read.

Remember Me is a teen fiction novel which commits basically all the cardinal sins of teen fiction novels. There's a bad boy. A party. A misused prologue. Absent [mostly] parents. First chapter is MC waking up - not by an alarm clock, but by her brother. All of these characters are insufferable, to put it mildly. The high school acts a way no normal high school would. These students act the way no normal high school would.

And, the icing on the cake, the point of view.

First person is hard. You have a specific voice you have to write - your character's - and you have to keep it consistent the best you can.

Elizabeth is mostly consistent in tone... problem is, she's consistently a bitch, and she's not that well-wrote. She slut shames just about every other girl we come across - and why is it most of them hit on Alex, anyway??? - and she's a prissy little rich girl with a big mouth and reading from her point of view for eleven [technically] chapters straight made me so angry I almost threw my phone. She's a brat. I don't like her at all. And the asides talking to the readers? I hated it.

I also hated all the tense switching. Please consider getting an editor.

The other characters aren't much better. Everyone acts like they're ten, and they're all supposed to be... well, at the very least, sixteen. Yet they tackle each other in Target's and whine to each other almost nonstop and Alex and Kyle decide to cut El's hair while she's sleeping as some sort of prank. And Eric and Kyle are quite stupidly forgettable.

I don't understand what the plot of this book was supposed to be. It's marked complete, but I really don't think it's finished. I don't understand what the conflict was here. It all read like the slice of life story of a twelve year old and I could not stand it. We get ten chapters of a character moving back, going to school, and having some interactions with people equally as intolerable.

Acquire an editor. Figure out what the plot is. Ditch the prologue. Give El more substance, and less of her mouthing off. I swear if I had to have read another scene about how much some other girl she's around was a slut and liked to hit on Alex I would've screamed.

Maybe this book is for someone, but it certainly was not for me.
