"No! No! Absolutely not!" Wes exclaimed after Serena told him her idea. "No, Serena. I'm not talking to them about this. I don't know them and they're nerds! If I get caught talking to them all chummy-like, my social status will be flushed down the toilet, and I don't want that Serena."

"You think I like this idea?" Serena asked him. "Because I don't, but they seem to know everything about everyone, and anything weird."

"I'm not telling strangers about my problems, especially not nerds," Wes hissed. "And why do you think that they will know what's happening."

"As I said, they seem to know everything," Serena reiterated. "It's freaky."

Wes still didn't look okay with the plan at all. "Do you think I like this plan?" Serena asked him. "Because I don't and I really can't stand them either, but it's our only option," she informed Wes.

He groaned, "Fine," he said finally. "But, I'm only agreeing to this plan because you suggested it, and I trust you. But if things go wrong, I will be rethinking our entire friendship," he threatened, shaking a disapproving finger at the Banshee.

Serena snickered, "Okay, Wes, you're a terrible liar."

"A terrible liar who can see dead people, Serena!" Wes retorted. "That seems like the bigger problem at the moment, don't you think?"

"I know, that's why I'm trying to fix that!" Serena hissed. "Let's just go and ask them the questions," she said, gesturing over to Ethan and Benny who were just overjoyed with Ethan's miraculous win at the wrestling match. Serena marched up to the boys, practically dragging Wes behind her. "You two!" she said, pointing at them. "We have a problem."

"No, Serena, I think we just solved the problem," Benny retorted.

Ethan jumped up, still wearing his leotard, "Yeah, I just beat Kurt the Hurt Lochner! And now Sarah is gonna fall madly in love with me, not him."

Serena blinked, "Oh my god, there was so much wrong with that sentence, I don't even know where to begin, so I'm just gonna pretend like you didn't say that last bit. Because I have an actual problem here right now."

Ethan frowned, "So you don't care that I won a wrestling match?"

"No, not really," Serena answered instantly.

"You're not a really nice person," Benny commented shaking his head.

Serena gave a short laugh, "Noted, now help my friend," she commanded.

"Who, Aaliyah?" Benny asked. "I don't see her anywhere," he said, looking around the gym for the fledging.

"Not Aaliyah," Serena hissed. "Him," she said, dragging Wes' arm so that he was standing next to her.

Benny laughed, "This guy?" he asked, patting Wes on the shoulder. "What can be wrong with him? Perfect hair, big strong muscles, charming smile, a real ladies' man, right buddy?" he said, looking at  Wes for approval. Wes didn't say anything. "He's like a slightly less hot version of me," Benny continued.

"I see dead people," Wes stated.

"Oh?" Benny faltered. "See, I can't do that."

"Didn't he call us losers?" Ethan asked. "Why should we help him?"

Serena rolled her eyes, "I call you guys losers all the time to your faces and you still help me. Plus, I mean it's not like he's lying."

"And, I didn't call you guys losers, I called your nerds. There's a big difference in the dictionary you know. Because I have one of those because I'm smart too," Wes corrected.

        Serena blinked, "Wes," she started.

"Right, whatever, It's better, trust me," Wes finished. "Just, if you guys can help me stop seeing dead people. It would be greatly appreciated. And maybe I'd consider stopping calling you guys nerds behind your back, and to your face."

Ethan nodded slowly, "You know, I like that idea," he started.

"Bu- bu- bu-" Benny spluttered. "I-," he sighed, knowing that his friend was right. "Okay, we'll help you, friend?"

Wes snorted, "Don't push it," he said rolling his eyes.

"People seeing the dead?" Erica said popping out from behind Serena. "Sounds fun, I'm in!"

Serena grimaced, whipping around to face the blonde. "No," she said simply shaking her head at Erica. "You're strictly not invited."

Erica scoffed and rolled her eyes, placing a hand on her right hip. She was trying to stare down Serena, intimidate her enough so that she would cave and allow her to join them. "And why is that Shrieky?" she asked giddily. "Can't handle me being in your house again?"

"No, absolutely not!" Serena exclaimed. "I love it when you're in my house-" Serena's face fell, realizing her mistake. She bit my lip, "Crap," she said, fiddling with her hands in an awkward attempt to think of something else to rectify the situation she had just created. "I didn't mean to say that, obviously," she stumbled.

"What it sounds like is that you were inviting me to this, supernatural study group 2.0 you're creating here," Erica said, taking a step forward towards the brunette. "Can't wait," she whispered in her ear, before sauntering away from Serena.

Serena's face scrunched up, "Oh, oh," she practically spat, stomping on the ground, her fists curled into little fists. "I hate her, I hate her so much."

"More than you hate us?" Benny asked, tilting his head so that he could see Serena's face in full. He had some smug smile on his face. "Cause, if you think you hate us, she must really grind your gears, Serena."

"Oooo," Serena sounded dangerous. "Shut up before I scream at you, and we'll all know how that ends. Badly, for you, mainly."

Benny blinked, wiping the smile off of his face. "Okay!" he said, his voice a higher pitch than normal. "Let's go help your friend, your pal, your buddy! Find out why he sees dead people. What a pleasant way to spend my afternoon. I simply can't wait!" he said, practically running away from the girl, dragging Ethan along with him.

---

Serena didn't like how often she was put in a situation where she allowed strangers into her home. Of course, she would welcome Wes with open arms. He was always over at her house with Aaliyah anyways. But Ethan, Benny, and Erica, Serena thought she was only gonna let them in once. Or in Erica's case twice given that she had saved her from that rapid kitten. But, apparently, their fates seemed to cross more than once, so Serena was gonna have to get used to them being in her house.

This time instead of the kitchen, the group was situated in the living room. Which made Serena extremely uncomfortable as they kept on touching her stuff. Benny picked up one of the ceramic vases that Felicity had laid out on the coffee table. "Don't touch-" Serena started to warn him, but it can too late. The vase had slipped out of Benny's hands and onto the dark oak floors beneath them. "That," she finished looking down at the mess he had made on the floor.

"Sorry, sorry," Benny said awkwardly. "That's my bad. Totally my bad. I'll just fix that right up." He pulled out his little spellbook from his pocket and waved his hand. With a cloud of purple dust, the pile of glass on the ground disappeared.

Wes' mouth fell open. "Wha- what?" he stuttered. "Did you just," he pointed at Benny. "Did he just?" he asked looking around the room, "Am I dreaming?" he asked. "Someone pinch me or punch me. You know what, better yet, stab me, make it permanent."

Erica raised her arm, but Serena shot her a dirty look. "Don't you dare think about it," she warned the vampire.

"I take it you didn't tell him anything about us?" Ethan asked Serena. "Did you?"

Serena shook her head, "I wasn't sure how to go about the whole 'we have weird powers now' thing, so I just didn't bother with it. I now realize that it was a bad move to do that." She clicked her tongue. "Wes, you might want to sit down for this one."

Wes raised his eyebrows, but followed her instructions and sat down on the tan couch in front of the coffee table. Serena started at the beginning, explaining to Wes what happened at the night in the graveyard: the strange woman, the lighting and the storm, the screams. She told him how she was able to do strange things with her voice, breaking all the glass and windows in a room if she tried hard enough. Serena was glad he didn't ask for a demonstration because she could barely even control her powers enough to do that, and it would just end badly for the entire group. She then went on to tell him about the other supernaturals in White Chapel: Vampires, Seers, Spellcasters, Fledglings. She needed the others to fill in the details that she was a bit fuzzy on, but in about fifteen minutes, Serena had recounted everything that she knew about the supernatural world and what happened to everyone in the world.

Wes took a deep breath in, trying to disgust the mess of information he was just fed. "Okay, let me get this straight," he pointed to Benny. "Your a basically a wizard, like Harry Potter?" he asked.

"The technical term is a spellcaster," Benny corrected him. "But, yes, I'm like Harry Potter."

Wes nodded, "Good to know," he spun around to Ethan. "And you can see the future? Like the actual future?"

Ethan tilted his head, "Yes, and no, it's more like flashes of the future. But, um, yeah that's what a seer does."

"Okay, okay. And you," Wes pointed to Erica. "Are a vampire?" he asked uncertainly. "Like one of those Dusk movies that Aaliyah dragged me to?"

"Yes," she said simply, crossing one of her legs over the other.

Wes finally looked at Serena, "Banshee?"

        "Yeah," she answered.

        "What does that mean exactly?"

Serena exhaled shortly, "I wish I knew, then this would be a whole lot easier."

"So what am I?" Wes asked instantly.

"We don't know," the entire group said in sync. "That's what we need to figure out," Serena added. "And I still have some of those books from the lib-"

Erica laughed, interrupting Serena's stream of thoughts. "Yeah, no, Serena, darling. I'm not reading from those books again. We have something magical, called the internet. So let's use it this time, yeah?" she asked.

"Fine, we can use the internet as well," Serena said sourly. "Not like googling your symptoms has ever gone wrong, ever," she added under her breath.

Erica looked over at Wes, "You know, Wes. One of the things that vampires have is super hearing," she explains. "Which means that I can hear every insulting thing that your friend says under her breath, remember that next time you want to criticize me, Shrieky!"

Serena groaned, grabbing a book off of the table. "Wow, you should get a teaching degree since you're so great at explaining things," she said, shuffling through the pages to find a good place to start researching.

Erica ignored her comment and took the computer that was on Serena's mothers' desk and started to try and find something there. The other three men pulled out separate books and started to find information from those as well.

Serena honestly had no idea where to start. Wes didn't really give them a lot of information to go off of, but it wasn't really his fault. He had no idea what was going on with himself, so there wasn't a way to try and get more information out of him. So, Serena started to look through the same Bestiary from earlier. Serena first looked at something along the lines of a ghost. Maybe if Wes could see dead people, maybe he was one? But from what Serena read, ghosts held the same appearance over time, meaning they never grew older, and Serena had known Wes since the third grade and he had definitely aged since then.

Serena then looked at something called a Spark. A Spark was a person that is able to bend realities or even realms. So maybe Wes was able to blur the lines between the realms of the living and the realms of the dead, which would explain why he was able to see the ghost wrestling coach. But that also didn't make sense in Serena's head because a Spark also had the ability to do magic or something like that. But Wes wasn't exhibiting any sort of abilities that would match Benny's so Serena crossed that off of her mental list as well.

"You know, right here, it says that seeing dead people makes you loco," Erica said, looking back at Wes, who had his nose buried in a book.

He shut his book quickly, narrowing his eyes at the blonde. "I'm not loco or whatever you said I am, okay? I know what I saw."

"It's legit Erica," Ethan added. "I saw him too."

"Wow, because that adds so much validity to your point right now," Erica said, spinning back around in her office chair to face the computer again.

Wes looked over at Serena, "I don't like the fact that she called me crazy, which is a very negative term by the way!" he added harshly. "Plus, how do we even know that I'm supernatural like you guys?" he asked.

"I think I have the answer to your question," Serena's mother Felicity said upon entering the room.

Serena looked up at the entryway, "Mom?" she questioned, craning her neck to get a better look at the woman. "How long have you been standing here?"

"Long enough to know that Google isn't a good source when looking into the supernatural," she said, looking over at Erica.

Erica looked from Felicity to Serena, "Ohhhh," she said, a hint of laughter in her voice. "I understand you so much better now," Erica said looking over at Serena.

"Ignore her mom," Serena said quickly. "You said you had an answer to what's happening with Wes?"

Felicity nodded, setting down her purse on the coffee table in front of the group. "Ah yes," she sounded, taking a seat in the other armchair across from her daughter. "Wes, I believe you are what people like to call a Necromancer," she informed him.

"A what?" he said stunned. "That's sounds, terrifying."

"It's not," Felicity reassured him. "A necromancer is basically anyone who can communicate with the dead. You can harness their energy and use it for many different things. Magic, for one, but you can also try and reanimate the dead, allow that comes with a great price that you need to be willing to pay. But I wouldn't recommend it, as bad things have happened when people mess with the spirits," Felicity's eyes flickered over to Benny, who shifted uncomfortably in his spot on the couch. "You're like a spellcaster, but you just use a different type of energy than them."

"So he's like an evil version of me?" Benny asked, his smile spreading from cheek to cheek.

Wes looked extremely offended, "I'M EVIL?"  he exclaimed, jumping up from his seat on the couch. "No, I can't be evil. I'm a lovable guy. Serena," he added, turning to the banshee in the armchair. "I didn't sign up to be evil. Please, tell me I'm not evil."

"No, Wes, don't be ridiculous, okay?" Serena started, shooting a glare at Benny, who returned it. "You're not evil, right Mom?"

Felicity looked at the extremely distressed boy and sighed, "You're not evil, Wes. Just because you have the ability to do bad things doesn't mean you will do then," she said quickly. "As I said earlier, you are able to harness the energy from these spirits that appear to you. Use it for something good. As I know you will because we are going to help you."

        "We?" Ethan asked.

"Your grandmother, Benny," Felicity said slowly. "She's agreed to help train these two?"

"These two?" Serena asked. "Who else needs training?"

        "You, Serena."
