Maxis rubbed her eyes and continued to stare at the screen, seeing someone wearing an awfully familiar black robe and a white, ghost-like mask. Surely this couldn't really be Ghostface and was just someone pulling a sick prank on her, right? Quickly realizing that this wasn't a prank, Maxis would watch more of the footage.

Once she finished the first night/murder footage, Maxis switched over to watch the security footage from the second, most recent, murder.

Having watched all of the footage available, Maxis leaned back in her chair and pinched the bridge of her nose while sighing. She thought that once she graduated college, Ghostface would've stayed in the past.

As she sat there, a wave of determination quickly washed over her. She was going to stop this Ghostface and prevent anyone else from having to suffer like she, her friends and brother did, years ago.

Having written her current findings into her journal, Maxis felt her phone vibrating. Unlocking her phone, Maxis saw that there was a text from Shannon. It was just Shannon asking Maxis if she was still coming with them to her cousin's (Brian's) house for a little welcoming party being thrown for David/Nogla.

Maxis quickly responded with a simple "yes" to the text. She had completely forgotten that Brian was throwing a party tonight for his friend Nogla, since he was going to be visiting for a month or so.

The party was going to be attended by Maxis herself, her brother Kyle, Shannon, Evan, Brian, Brian's roommate Brock, and of course David/Nogla, since he was going to be the guest of honor.

Maxis finished out her day at work and was at home, getting ready to go to Brian's house. Once she was done, she'd join Kyle and Shannon and the three of them would take a quick fifteen/twenty minute drive over to Brian's house. They would be greeted by Brian's roommate, Brock after they arrived.

Upon being let in, they saw that Evan was already there, as well. It had been a couple of months since Maxis had seen Evan, as her work always kept her busy, so she greeted him with a smile and a friendly hug.

Once they were all situated, everyone would just kind of sit around and wait for Brian to arrive with David, and once they were there, that's when the "party" started.

It was a couple of hours since David had arrived and the party was slowly winding down. No one had left, but David was upstairs with Brock and Brian, which all three of them were in Brian's room, talking about games and work.

Meanwhile, the other four were all doing their own things. Shannon was busy cuddling Kyle, Evan was sitting in a recliner while on his phone watching hockey highlights and Maxis was in the kitchen. Every now and then, Maxis would look out into the living room.

Maxis bit her lip as she watched the three others. Just by looking at her, anyone could tell that something was bothering her, and it all had to do with what happened earlier at work.

"Quick like a bandaid, Maxis..." She muttered as she tried to give herself some encouragement before leaving the kitchen.

As soon as Maxis stepped into the living room, it was all eyes on her. Maxis stood there for a few moments and fumbled with her hands.

Looking at her, Kyle quipped, "Oh no, what did you break?"

Maxis looked towards him, confused by his question, "What...?"

"So, you didn't break something?" Kyle asked, raising a brow as he watched his sister shake her head, "so what's up, then?"

Taking a deep breath, Maxis sighed, "You know how I'm working on those two murder cases?" She asked, watching them all nod in response, "Well, there's something about them..."

"Yeah?" Evan replied as he remained seated in his chair.

Maxis nodded, "the police chief would probably kick my ass for telling you all about this, but I have to... for your safety..."

Kyle shifted a bit in his seat, "Okay, you're worrying me a little... what's going on?"

Maxis took a deep breath and closed her eyes, before saying, "Ghostface is back..."
