❝ wow, nice insult, what are
you, hannah montana? ❞
𝐒𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐌𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐃𝐎𝐖𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐑𝐒 Zara was trying to make sure she wasn't late for school. All last night she was flipping back and forth in her bed until 4 am trying to get some decent sleep with it being the first day of school and all. Checking the oven seeing small green numbers saying it was 7:30.
She let out a sigh bringing her hand up to slap her forehead, running back upstairs she turned at the end of the hallway reaching her older brother's room. Gripping the doorknob she turned it stomping inside and groaned when she saw Marcus tightly wrapped in his blue duvet covers not a bit awake with soft snores coming from him.
At first, she shouted at him to wake up which obviously didn't work as snores continue to come from him, her second option was to vigorously shake the boy from his slumber. "Wake up, asshole. You have to get to work," He turned to the right seeing his sister with an annoyed look on her face.
A yawn came from the boy as he quickly covered his mouth to stop it. "Give me a couple more minutes..." He pleaded to try to get more sleep in. She rolled her eyes at him debated whether to punch him in the face but Zara began to shake him again.
"Touch me one more time and I'll tell dad you snuck out last night." Marcus spoke with a tired voice as he blackmailed his younger sister. Now it started to become a lot harder for the Sinclair girl to not beat his face in.
"Ugh! Go fuck yourself,"
"Love you too, sis."
She walked out of his room at this point not caring if he was late for work. Rushing back downstairs knowing now she would most definitely be late if she didn't get her ass out the door. Zara was way too exhausted from last night to waste her energy on riding her bike all the way to school like she even could after leaving it in the woods. She yelled out for her dad to take her.
The brown-haired girl wasn't the biggest fan of the school buses, they were filled with obnoxious teenagers who didn't know how to take showers and even terrible bus drivers.

Walking near the entrance of the school Scott called out her name. Removing the earbuds from her ears she turned her head to the friends from before. "Zara are you okay, you know after last night." He asked her with a slight worry in his expression. Which she felt a little bit of appreciation for, it's been a while since others cared for her well-being. It was quite refreshing for her to hear that from anyone.
"Well, I didn't get my side turned into a rabid animal's meal so I think I'm fine." She answered pointing back at him.
"Okay, let's see this thing," Stiles motioned to his friend's side after hearing about a brutal bite he received the night before. Zara was contemplating leaving the conversation, she wasn't really friends with them, and didn't talk to them in general either.
However, the girl ended up being curious about how the vicious animal injury turned out and wanted to make sure Scott was alright since he did the same for her. He lifted his shirt revealing a bandage that had deep red blood seeping through it, an 'ooo' came from his friend.
What had shocked the girl was that the boy had developed a slight pair of abs, 'Good for him' She thought knowing that he wasn't the greatest at lacrosse last year so maybe he was putting in the work over summer. The pale teen reached over to touch it as Scott pulled his shirt down before he could. "Woah!"
"It was too dark to see much, but I'm pretty sure it was a wolf."
"A wolf bit you?"
The tan boy responded with a small 'uh huh' as they walked towards the entrance. Stiles didn't believe his answer for a second, he scoffed with disbelief "No, not a chance." Zara noticed the doubt in his tone and furrowed her eyebrows toward him.
As the conversation went on the buzzcut boy was slightly agitating her. "We heard a wolf howling," Scott added on to further prove his point which his friend was barely believing.
"No, you didn't," He argued back continuing to disagree, she rolled her eyes in annoyance. Zara was aware he was quite aggravating in general but somehow the boy was getting on her nerves relatively too easily.
"What do mean no I didn't, how do you know what we heard?" He asked almost reaching the same level of irritation as the girl beside him. "Unless you were there with us which you weren't, I'm pretty sure we heard howls, smartass." Zara replied with a little not so accidental snarkiness in her tone.
"Because California doesn't have wolves, okay. Not in like 60 years." Stiles informed the two.
"Really?" The McCall boy tilted his head with shock.
"Yea, really they're no wolves in California," He stated being more stubborn on his side of the argument for some reason.
The Sinclair girl failed to believe that since she recalled reading somewhere a while ago that wolves were known to migrate often. She began to walk away from the two but was dragged back in by the Stilinski boy after his friend mentioned finding the body. "Stilinski, I'm aware you don't have much experience with girls but don't ever touch me. Ever."
He mumbled a quiet 'sorry' and put his hands up in defense."Y-You are you kidding me?!" Stiles asked going back to the topic before being way too ecstatic about it. Both thought he was strangely upbeat about the two finding a dead body, but Zara tried to not question it too much. She wasn't friends with him so she assumed his weirdness was normal.
"No, I wish, I'm going to have nightmares for a month." Scott noted with a completely opposite mood than the scrawny boy. The brown skin girl thought back to last night and shook herself from the memory. "You're being dramatic, it looked like something from a knock-off Saw III." He was getting antsy by the second at the mentions of the body he desperately wanted to find.
"You're being a bit too excited by a dead body, are like a necrophiliac or..." Zara admitted with a straight face attempting to contain a smile to was urging to appear if you can't tell she found happiness in tormenting people.
"No! What! I'm not a necroph—Anyways, oh god that is freakin' awesome!" Stiles spurted with excitement coursing through his veins. Out of the corner of her eye, Zara noticed an obnoxious redhead walking and contained herself for rolling her eyes.
"I-I mean this is seriously gonna be the best thing that has happened to this town since—" The sarcastic boy stopped himself to avert his attention to the girl walking by.
"Since the birth of Lydia Martin. Hey, Lydia, you look—" The girl ignored him and passed right by, "Like you're gonna ignore me."
The dark-haired teen let out a small laugh which she quickly composed. The two friends turned to her one with an expression of irritation and the other with a smile. She laughed, "My gosh, that was just the most pathetic thing I've ever seen." Chuckling in between her sentence she gave him a couple of claps for entertainment. Stiles looked at her with a tense face, he clearly wasn't amused by her reaction.
"That gave me so much embarrassment, I can't even fathom." She informed walking away from the pair of friends rummaging through her denim jacket pockets for her pack of cigarettes. Finally finding it she put it up to her mouth and grabbed her lighter from her back pocket to lit it.
"Hey! No smoking on school property!" Stiles shouted at her from far away. Stomping away with her black converse she shouted back at him, "Yeah, whatever, Loverboy!"

Feeling herself drift from the lecture the teacher was giving she was trying to process what happened last night. Was it a wolf? Was it not? These endless questions were filling her head, it all just seemed so bizarre to occur. Not just in general but in Beacon Hills, the last unusual occurrence was the mayor committing tax fraud last year but that was it.
She zoned back into class right when her new English teacher said "As you all know there indeed was a body found in the woods last night." Causing the two boys to exchange glances with each other and her in which she ignored.
"And I am sure your eager little minds are coming up with various macabre scenarios as to what happened. But I am here to tell you that the police have a suspect in custody," They were all unaware that there was a person suspected for the case. "Which means you can give your undivided attention to the syllabus which is on your desk outlining this semester."
Zara saw the Scott flinch aggressively out of nowhere but didn't pay an extra thought to it, she assumed that he was just being weird like normal ❪ in which she had already concluded about him and his friend not so long ago ❫. The girl started to skim the syllabus the teacher urged the class of students to read somehow thoughts of the animal attack came to her mind diverting her attention yet again.
Zara restarted the sentence she was trying to read multiple trying to comprehend it without a distraction occurring. A couple of moments later the vice-principal entered the room in which was inferred to be the new girl this caused all the students to look up and turned their attention to the doorway.
The girl was quite tall, in Zara's perspective, she was absolutely gorgeous with her wavy raven hair and a lean build. She was practically mesmerizing and apparently, she wasn't the only one who thought so. "Class, this is our new student, Allison Argent. Please do your best to make her feel welcomed." Allison shyly walked through the desks with her head down sitting down in front of the black-haired girl.
Randomly the shaggy-haired teen handed a pen to a new student in a way of as it seemed like he knew she needed one. Strange. The girl tapped the brunette in front of her, "Hey, it might suck at first but it gets better, I was new last year," Allison turned her head to the girl behind her with a joyous smile. She replied, "Really?" With a bit of optimism.
"No, I lied. I'm trying to make your first better than mine was, it's a shithole year-round."
The brunette let out a chuckle which was somehow the most contagious one Zara had ever heard. She wasn't usually nice to people but something about Allison's presence was different. It was also a plus that she didn't know the rumors that circled around about the Sinclair girl.
The two girls quickly befriended each other but amid their conversation was interrupted by the teacher starting to rebegin his lecture. He instructed, "Well begin with Kafka's Metamorphosis, on page 133."
████████
The two newfound friends walked out of their English class talking about simple nothings. Zara's locker for the new school year was near Allison's, they headed towards the same direction. The girl tried to remember her locker code since it slipped past her mind over the summer break.
Hoping the numbers she put in were correct, click. A wave of victory came over her even though it wasn't that hard of a task, Zara felt accomplished. "Be careful Allison, some of the people here can be—"
She was going to give her a lesson on one specific Prada wearing, strong perfume smelling, evil mischievous bitchy redhead but ironically the one, the only, Lydia-fucking-Martin is becoming all buddy-buddy with the new girl.
"That jacket is absolutely killer," She complimented examining the leather on the girl with a hand propped on her hip. "Where'd you get it?"
Under her breath, Zara muttered "Speak of the devil..." As she turned her head up to the conversation. It might have seemed a bit of an exaggeration but Zara liked to believe that Lydia was Satan in a pair of heels. The Martin girl averted her glare to the brown skin.
"Oh, just a tip you should watch out for the skanks that run around here." The girl had a strong hatred for Zara Sinclair ever since her first day of her freshman year, Zara transferred quite the strange time in the year but many didn't question it. Jackson Whittemore noticed a new pretty face around the school and started to get a little too flirty for comfort.
She could clearly see through this facade and immediately knew he was a privileged asshole, who's been handed everything in life and thought he could get whatever he wanted. The blue eyed boy wasn't used to be turned down, ever.
He chose to twist the story and tell his girlfriend "Some new girl thought she had a chance with me and blah-blah-blah." Feeling threatened and belittled, the redhead decided to make it her goal to spread as many nasty rumors in the span of one week.
So Beacon Hills turned into an immediate burning hell hole for little fourteen-year-old Zara Sinclair. "You wouldn't mean yourself, right?" She mocked out of bitterness.
"Shouldn't you be in Beacon Hills County Jail?" Lydia shot back.
"Wow, nice insult, what are you, Hannah Montana? But, lucky me I look great in an orange jumpsuit."
Allison tried to bring the conversation back to her jacket but Zara decided to leave their presence being tired of the obnoxious couple. She said "See you later, Allison." lowly leaving the new girl with the redhead.
Walked off a bit annoyed from her seeing Scott and Stiles saw the whole thing, "What are you two idiots looking at?" She harshly spat as they awkwardly looked away and started to rub their necks.
████████
Stiles Stilinski was letting out harsh breaths from the weight of the lacrosse equipment and gear he was carrying. "But if you play — I'll have no one to talk to on the bench." He complained to scott who was walking by him, "Are you really going to do that to your best friend?" The McCall boy started to go on about this was making first line and not sitting out this season. Based of his prior lacrosse skills this seemed a bit too much of an stretch.
Zara walked out to the field in annoyance at the prior interaction but quietly sat down in the lower parts of the bleachers. Grabbing her camera from her side and placed the straps around her neck.
Looking around not searching for a specific person she saw Allison with Lydia next to her, the brunette mouthed a 'sorry' to her. The Sinclair girl just shook her head a smile that she tried to make seem genuine. Adjusting the settings on her Canon Powershot G9, she tried to forget the memory of when her dad gifted it to her after her mom went off the rails again.
The sound of yelling "McCall! You're on goal," Got her attention and made the tan boy flinch at first. Coach threw a helmet to him as he just looked back at him innocently. "I've never played." He admitted.
Coach Finstock let out a harsh sigh with no surprise. he replied, "I know — scoring some shots will give the boys a confidence boost. It's a first day back thing. Get 'em energized, fired up!" Patting the poor boy on the shoulder.
"What about me?" He asked with a bit of concern.
"Try not to take any in the face." Coach informed him like it would be helpful while softly slapping him on the cheek. he walked away towards his players to get them ready. "Let's go! Come on!"
Allison started to pay close attention to the McCall boy almost seeming as if she was studying him as he made his way to the goal. Curiosity sparked in her, "Who is he?" She asked the strawberry blonde on her side.
Lydia titled her head trying to remember the boy but his name didn't click in her head. "Him? I'm not sure who he is. Why?" Zara was overhearing the two, she thought it was quite ridiculous that the Martin girl was clueless about someone who she knew since childhood but she assumed that's how somehow who thought the world revolved around them is. Scott turned his head to the two girls as if he was hearing their conversation. Weird.
"He's in my English class. Hey, Zara, do you know who the goalie is?" Allison asked her other newfound friend. The Sinclair girl hesitantly answered not wanting to seem stalker-ish or weird. "Oh McCall, yeah, that's Scott..." The whistle blew which somehow sounded five times louder to the tan boy, he clasped his hands around his ears to block out the noise.
The ball was thrown right at him and hit his face knocking him to the ground. The dark-haired girl muttered a 'yikes' from afar and snapped a picture of it. 'That is definitely going in the yearbook' she thought.
The lacrosse team started to laugh ❪ including Coach ❫ some even wincing at the impact of him falling. "Hey, way to catch the ball with your face, McCall!" This wasn't looking out too great for him. The next ball he caught with such ease almost like he'd been doing this since birth, even Scott was shocked.
Continuously he was somehow catching every ball that was thrown at him. Stiles was cheering from the bench with joy, it was quite sweet how proud he was of his friend but Zara wasn't going to admit that.
However, she was confused how the McCall boy immediately became some lacrosse pro. "He seems like he's pretty good." Allison was impressed, to say the least. "Yeah...very good." She bitterly noticed.
His mood quickly declined when he saw Jackson get in front of the line with jealousy practically pouring out of him. Scott nervously readjusted his position with worry. "Oh god." He had no idea what was about to come next. It felt as if Jackson was running at him in slow motion as if he was in some dramatic movie.
Considering the Whittemore boy's ability in the athletic department scott had little to no chance of catching it. But somehow he effortlessly succeeded. His best friend was even more ecstatic than he was by jumping up and cheering for him. "That's my friend!" He shouted with his hands in the air and all.
Everyone was rooting for the McCall boy even a particular strawberry blonde girl and her boyfriend's jealous rampage continued. No one knew what but something was up with Scott McCall. Seriously.
