(135) Havoc Spectacular

"No..." Florence whispered horrifically, as if she was trying to get herself to believe that it wasn't actually happening, "Professor Flitwick, she can't do that, can she? You can't cancel the Quidditch final!"

"I'm afraid she can, Miss Price. With Dumbledore's absence and the Minister's decree, she is now Hogwarts' new Headmistress. As much as I am displeased by this news, whatever she says goes from this point on. And seeing as your name and Miss Banks' were on that list, and also that you two are captains of the two final teams, well, this must be her punishment for the both of you." the short man replied, looking to Professor Sprout for support, "I'm afraid even our combined protest will not do a thing."

"Oh bullshit," Olivia seethed, her knuckles white from gripping the arm rest tightly ever since they broke the news to the two captains, "She was teaching us fuck all in Defense. Harry only stepped up to do what she wasn't doing right."

"Miss Banks, I understand you are upset, but please, do mind your language." Professor Sprout chastised, silencing the raven-haired girl.

"So...there won't be a cup at all?"

"I'm afraid so, Miss Price." Flitwick mumbled, "Though I was very excited for our team. I was hoping to see that trophy in my study room by next week."

Professor Sprout looked at him funny, "Don't be too confident, Filius."

"Anyway," Professor Flitwick dismissed, "Another reason for your presence here is that the Headmistress wanted us to inform you two that the pair of you will be joining the rest of Dumbledore's Army for detention everyday after school."

"Ofcourse," Florence sighed, rubbing on her temple, "As if I don't already have enough on my plate."

They were dismissed shortly after, Olivia exiting the office in silent rage, not bothering to wait up for Florence at all. However, Fred and George had been waiting just outside the office, getting up from where they sat as soon as Florence came to view.

"So, what was it?" Fred asked, slightly concerned, what did they want?"

"Well, the Quidditch final is canceled. No shiny trophy for anyone. Also, detention, with you lot, everyday after school until we get out if here."

"I heard about the detention bit. Have you noticed her snooty Inquisitorial Squad? I've heard Umbridge gave them point-docking powers. They've been docking points from other houses all morning." said George.

"Montague even tried to dock points from us awhile ago. We pushed the bloke into the vanishing cabinet before the words left his mouth." sniggered Fred.

"The Vanishing Cabinet? I mean don't get me wrong, I hate Montague just as much as the next person but does anyone even know where the other end of that thing is? He could get lost, or seriously injured."

"He'll be fine," Fred reassured, "Won't pop up after a week or so and would be a little disoriented, but apart from that, nothing too serious."

"We're sorry to hear that your game's been canceled, by the way."

"Yeah, I was kinda looking forward to rubbing that trophy in your face," Florence joked, "Anyway, what's done is done. I don't regret being a part of Dumbledore's Army one bit... Let's head to lunch yeah? I'm famished."

"Yeah...about that..." George trailed off, looking to Fred nervously as if prompting him to speak out as well. Florence frowned, looking back and fourth between the two, "What is it?"

"We, have uh, something planned." Fred explained, much too vague for Florence's liking, her frown growing deeper at this, "Planned something?"

"Look, Flo, we're done here. We don't care for school anymore. Honestly, Harry teaching us defensive spells was one of the biggest reasons why we chose to stay."

"But with that hag running the school now," Fred continued for his twin brother, "We've decided that it's time to go."

"Yeah, we have our trunks waiting for us where we could fetch it and all. We've been preparing last night. We'll be out of here once we get our Cleansweeps from her bloody office. George and I don't exactly have a plan B for our transportation.

Florence's conversation with Nicolai from the other day replayed in her head, and she knew that there wasn't really anything that she could do to stop them from pursuing their ambitions, and that, as someone who was a big part of their lives, she should be more supportive when it comes to whatever it is that they wanted to do.

"Okay," Florence said, after a few more minutes of silence, "Okay, I understand."

"Really?"

"Really. Whatever it is that you're doing, I'll be supportive no matter what."

Florence saw George give out a huge sigh of relief, "That's honestly really great to hear. I thought you would freak out on us or something..."

She patted him on the cheek, "You two are big boys and I trust that you have everything handled. Now... anything I can do to help this big plan of yours?"

"Well, you might want to get to lunch. The last thing we want is for Umbridge to think you're one of our accomplices." Fred said, "Oh, and you might want to find a pair of rain boots. This hall is gonna get a little... swampy... for a few days, I expect."

"If the product works right."

Florence couldn't help but chuckle, "I'm going to miss you both, really, even if it's only going to be a couple more weeks before graduation."

"Don't be silly Florence," George said, "With how fast time is going by these past few days, you'll find yourself moving in with Fred and I in no time."

Florence walked in to the Great Hall for lunch as nonchalantly as possible, feeling Filch's eyes on her as she had been a few minutes late into arriving. She took a seat between Nicolai and Xander, fixing up her plate until she no longer felt like she was being watched.

"Where were you? Nic and I were going to pick you up from your room but you had already gone." said Xander, "Also, my girlfriend is angry for some reason that I cannot pinpoint."

"Professors Flitwick and Sprout called us up to the office. They're cancelling the last match of the season because that Parkinson girl from Slytherin found a list of the members of the DA. Ofcourse, my name was on it, hers too. And it's not the first offense we've done to Umbridge..."

"Oh wow... no Quidditch? I was so looking forward to that match after weeks and weeks of your silent feud with Olivia." Nicolai said, "Plus having that trophy would have been real nice."

"Do you think she's gonna confiscate my prefect badge?" Xander said in a worried tone, "After all I was on that list too."

"Doubt it. The school year's ending soon. And you're not the only prefect, after all there's Jill, Hermione, Ron... Though I heard everyone who was on that list is going to get group detentions almost everyday after school." said Florence.

"Ugh, detention. That's just gonna cut my N.E.W.T.s review time. And it's like less than two weeks away."

"I know, It—"

A loud exploding sound cut Xander off in mid sentence, everyone's attention snapping toward the Great Hall door.

Nicolai simply turned to Florence, an all-knowing look on her face, "Fred and George?"

She shrugged in response, "Maybe, yeah."

Mr. Filch hobbled across the Great Hall, opening the doors wide enough for what looked like fireworks to shoot into the Great hall, vibrant purples and yellows make the students stare up in pure awe. The staff seemed to enjoy the spectacle as well, unaware of the schemes behind this.

That was until sparklers crackled in the air, the luminous sparks spelling out some rather vulgar words that left the adults looking appalled. Florence clamped a hand over her mouth to prevent herself from laughing out loud, as it did not seem like the most appropriate time.

Students began pouring out of the Great Hall and to the hallway where more of the fireworks were going off, everyone finding both Filch and Umbridge in a standoff against the many products that the Weasley twins had set off, a range of fireworks and rockets and anything that made loud bangs and colorful shows.

Fred and George had also let a few Catherine Wheels loose, sparks shooting off of their tips as they ran amok. One of the larger ones had maneuvered itself in Umbridge and Filch's direction, the two in evident panic as they ducked, narrowly avoiding the flying object.

Professor Umbridge had tried to stop these products with stupefy, but had missed every single one. One of Umbridge's spells managed to land a shot on one of the many flying rockets that the twins had released, exploding with such force that it blasted a hole in a painting that was close by.

The havoc had left everyone in amused spirits, watching Umbridge and Filch struggle relentlessly. It had continued throughout the day, much to everyone's surprise. Florence had underestimated how much of their products Fred and George consumed. A lone Catherine Wheel had stirred itself into Binns' History of Magic class, causing the ghost to double over in surprise.

Nicolai and Florence had went and talked to Fred and George discreetly in one of the hallways, as the two had spent the whole day hiding from Filch and Umbridge, helping them devise a plan to retrieve their brooms.

"Why don't you two just get caught?" Nicolai suggested after various minutes of trading ideas, one getting more complicated as the previous, "I mean, she'll take you to her office for special detention with what distress and humiliation you caused her infront of the entire student body."

"Then we could maybe accio the brooms when it's in close proximity," George finished, "Genius, Clearwater."

Nicolai shrugged modestly, "Oh, I try."

"We have another show to put on tomorrow, so brace yourselves, ladies." Fred grinned, "Also, Flo, Harry told me he's going to be seeing Snuffles tomorrow, he said you could drop by for a bit if you want to talk."

"Snuffles?" Nicolai repeated, "Who's snuffles?"

"A dog." Florence replied, saying the first thing that came to her head, "Yes, a dog. Harry's dog. I met him once...over the summer. Bumped into Harry in London...walking his dog..."

"I thought Harry was from Surrey?"

"He visits London frequently," Fred quipped in.

"Yeah, anyway, he's an adorable dog. I quite like him."

"...oh, okay," Nicolai said, making Florence sigh in pure relief.
