Chapter 6 - The Past, The Fae Truth... (Kaden POV)

Chapter 6 - Kaden POV- The Past, 25 years old
The rumors. The truth. The stories. The myths. The unknown. The circles. The hidden. The never forgotten. The never safe.
Fairies being in this realm was a death sentence, literally they were the most hunted. I guess in the grand scheme of things I could understand why Elizabetta was living in that shack up on a hill. She felt safe there, safe here with only nine or ten werewolves to protect her. Despite funding the laboratory that John currently did research and experiments in I never came here.
This place, the location for this laboratory was meant to be off the map, so that is why John always came to me. I never wanted to bring attention to research he was looking into because it was all completely beneficial for my kind as I were once upon a time and as I am now.
However I have to wonder how long ago I could have met Elizabetta if I had just visited once and caught her scent.
For five long years John has been on this island but I wonder if Etta has been here long as well... I've felt alone and empty for years since my kidnapping and return and I'm slightly frustrated that I could have possibly ended that time in my life sooner if I had only came here on my own. If I had come here... I wouldn't have to wait until Etta began calling me.
Was Fate taking too long on it's own so she sped things up? I had many questions and John seemed to be quite knowledgeable on the situation.
So when he began to speak I made sure to be on fire, ready and eager to understand and ask the appropriate questions.
"Her father-" she had already told me about him, not completely she skipped over but-
"Did she say that they were very close and that?"
"He cared for her?" I finished his sentence.
"No she did not, she skimmed over talking about him; but he left her his children so clearly they were close," I replied.
"That's not all too true, son. Her father was a horrid hurting man. Human. Although he came from a line of strong wolves. He died never knowing the truth about her, not that he would have cared. She ran away and I had to insert myself into her life to be able to keep her safe. Tell her who she was, what high value she had to the supernatural world. Her father, if you can even calls that-that coward of a man a father. He made life brutal for her until the day she ran away, but she didn't just run away. Etta, like you faked her death when she was 15 years old and I helped her to do so," he said letting me take in the information and process it. God her family thought she was dead? Was her father so cruel that everyone needed to think she was dead?
"Her father, Bill, hadn't spoken to his family since she ran away, they were attacked and he, his wolf mate were killed, I knew whose children they really were and so I had the team I had following those two children, Bill and his mate. I had them extract those kids and brought them to Etta," he said.
"Would her family not-"
"His family... he had a chip on his shoulder when it came to them, Tink 'dying,' gave him a reason to cut off all communications with them," John said shaking his head in disgust for this man Bill.
I started thinking about how it was possible for him to have children with another woman...
"Anyways, he had children with the other woman, Etta's mother left two fertilized eggs. With me in my lab, with Bills' knowledge on the chance that Etta was ill... When Ettas' father met his new wife, her mate was dead, his he believed left him, and they decided to use the two embryos-"
"What!?" I gasped. Shocked beyond belief and for good reason. A man that was such a horrible father that his first child faked her death decides to have more children? It was comical and I would laugh if it weren't for the fact that this was actually Ettas' life and not some badly acted daytime soap opera.
"Exactly. Ettas' mother left that incase Etta got sick with a human disease and needed a donor but she Etta 'died' when she was fifteen. He and his wife was both crazy but money talks. They used the first one with a wolf surrogate and the other with a human. The human was able to carry but died because of the birth," he spoke with guilt. He helped them? Impossible. John respects humans and not just humans all creatures; Vampires and Werewolves and apparently Fairies included.
I know what you're thinking but all the things I've done were to give and keep Etta as safe and as untouchable as possible. He would have had some other doctor that would tell him that her blood was different and her siblings as well. Me helping, kept her identity a secret," he explained.
"Why did she tell me a whole lot of nothing?" I wondered out loud but then again I'm sure she had reasons.
"Like I said Kaden, she is in a good place. Probably not interested in opening old wounds especially with a stranger. He didn't treat her right Kaden; many- many people have not treated her, as she should be. I'm not trying to sound all woe is her, but the world; supernatural included has not treated her right. Here, we watch out for her," he said so we remained silent.
Wanting to get my questions answered I put one out there, "So why do you call her Tink?" John laughed again.
"All those smarts boy and you don't get it? Tink? Tinkerbelle? Fairy? That is what she is," he laughed deeply.
I tilted my head and thought about his response, still not laughing myself but this was probably because my mind worked differently others, genius and all that.
Sighing I looked, searched for the right words in my head.
"I've always thought everything in life was one big contradiction John, according to the greater population we do not exist. Public existence or not we also have rules, traditions, and myths... all hidden types of documentation and in them I cannot remember reading anything about have two mates. Etta believes that I am her mate... I... ah is it possible?" I ask but hoping he says yes, more than him saying no.
"Yes, you are both Kaden and Reese, plus you are your wolf and vice versa. You were changed into another species and while I've yet to find more like you to compare and test, I believe you are still a creature of the Goddess and Etta may be the mate she chose for you as this specie. The two of you together are probably paired to save others," he said cryptically, giving me something to think about. Who would we save? How could we save anyone without becoming tests subjects? Picked and prodded until we were shells of our self. Johns' explanation, opinion made Etta out to be a leader, "Kaden."
Hearing my name once again brings me back to this moment, my eyes focusing on Johns face.
"There are more of Etta's kinds out there-"
"How do you know?" I wanted to know because well absolutely no Fae stays in this realm unless it is a corpse. Why on earth would they possibly be here? I questioned myself, using my memory to search and sift thru the file system of information that is logged into my brain.
"They are hunted and half bred; even true bloods are here but most hide in two places. Busy metro cities or rural areas and they don't have anyone strong to actually protect them so they hide," John retorted.
"You think that person is Etta? Because I just saw the shack that she is in up on a hill and I'm not sure that she's the right person?" I answered.
John laughed again but I could not possibly see what he thought was funny when I was being serious.
He stops.
"I don't think Kaden! I know!" I rested back against the house.
"How?" I demanded to know.
"Jade. Etta's mother... she saved David. In exchange she asked that I become Etta's protector that my family becomes her families' protection and so we have. There are more of her kind and Etta living in this realm but she and those in Zedwood had been waiting many years watching those that stayed here, die. They had to wait for Etta's father to be born, Bill was born without a wolf but had the wolf gene," he answered and then things were getting clearer. It is one way or the other, you are born and you have the gene you shift. What John was saying was not something I've heard of happening.
"Why was having the gene but no wolf important or even possible?"
"Boy you are surely distracted tonight," he chuckled insulting my intelligence.
"Bill only had human senses..." he started and it clicked.
"He would or could not be able to tell that she was a Fae. Making Etta one of a kind, a human Fae with werewolf blood belonging to a strong blood line," I thought out loud.
"How is she more powerful than a full blooded Fae?" I wanted to know.
"Okay now you are getting there," he cackles, I just kept my face blank.
"Bill was crazy, hated being weak thought low of himself because he comes from a strong line. I suspect his makeup- chemical makeup makes him unstable, no one knows how the Moon Goddess works but I believe that when she granted his family with him she removed the ability to shift but left the gene," he said looking at me intently. Knowing that I work with science, facts, numbers proof not theories, and waiting for me to stop him with all that 'Moon Goddess is the wise one' bullshit he spouts.
"So Bill has a wolf but the Goddess decided on her own to keep it away. Hidden. Etta's mother knew that this happened. Came here. Had Etta. Then left. If that's what happened why not just give you Etta?" I answered going over this out loud even though it was very far reaching.
"Jade thought Etta would be safe with Bill,"
"But... she wasn't."
"Exactly," he huffed.
"So, she's powerful."
"Very."
"Does she know that?" I asked because again... she is up a hill hiding with her brother and sister.
"Yes. When she ran away I helped her with that, showed videos that I took while her mom was in this realm." Her mother.
"Tell me about her mother," I said, it coming out more like a demand and not a question.
"Jade Raylor. Full-blooded Fae was 22 years old when I met her but in her realm she's much older. Dark chocolate skin, same full body type as Tink, intelligent, kind, thoughtful, careful and reckless at the same time, brave, creative and determined. She was practical and warm hearted, sympathetic, just so much about her that I learned in such a short time and most importantly, Jade was powerful," he gave off some information but his tone, voice entire body language was one of complete reverence and devotion.
"Are not all Fae's powerful? I mean there blood makes werewolves immune to wolfs bane and make it possible for vampires to walk among humans in daylight without dying from exposure to the sun," I said but when I thought about it, those two things were what made them weak.
It was a never-ending circle, a dog chasing its tail. When Fairies did come to this realm, none ever spoke of where they came from but even now John was here calling the place they came from Zedwood, which was more information than many scholars documented. It made me wonder just how much information he truly has about this Zedwood place and how all of it is used to protect Etta.
Since I was her mate, I should know these things as well be able to protect her and knowing all the information is what made sense. Right?
He nodded quickly, "Yeah all true but Jade wasn't just any old Fae. She is royal, a direct heir, of the two most powerful Fae families in Zedwood. The royals all have distinct gifts, qualities that help them be the best possible leaders for their Fae sub kind," he said his voice radiating passionate and holding a bit of awe.
"You seem to know a lot of information," I stated.
"Over my lifetime I've interacted with two other Faes'; the first was Jades father, and then Jades' mother. I was surprised that when Jade entered this realm, she actually sought me out before approaching Bill," he laughed, shaking his head at his memories.
"Really?" I asked smiling thinking of this woman that I had never met and never would and then became genuinely intrigued that one of their breed would actively seek out a werewolf. Then I remembered he said she was potent, yet did not give further details.
"Yeah, they have the gift of foresight. As you know I am 237 years old Kaden. Her father came to me many years ago, knew exactly when David would be infected and she, Jade came to me, at exactly that time. David was attacked, shot by venom wolfs bane dart, and Jade's father told me that at that time his daughter would come and in exchange of what she would do for him, for me, I do something for him. He asked that I look out for her while she was here, protect her and make sure she returned. Jade's mother she asked for something different... she asked that I use the time while Jade was here herself to convince her that she could leave. Return to Zedwood, because she knew her daughter and she had seen that if Jade felt her child would not be looked after she would stay in this realm. Jade remained here for 10 months, and then returned home back to Zedwood."
"She didn't stay with her daughter?" I asked knowing but still found it hard to believe that a mother could leave her child, unless she knew she could come back.
"Jade revealed a lot about Zedwood to me. She is her parents' only child so she would have to return to take over. They have colonies there. Fifteen, though it was originally 16, but her parents one from Atch the other from Regar had a forbidden type romance. Those two, Atch and Regar the strongest colonies and Faes never found mates outside of the colony to which they were born. Many were against that, against merging two strong colonies so there was trouble. Eventually when they had Jade and they had her skills tested she showed signs of being equally Atch and Regar. After that the two colonies were able to merge," he explained animatedly and I, always with a thirst for knowledge listened dutifully until I wondered why.
"Why do they come here? To this realm John? They are hunted! Killed!" I asked thinking to myself that surely those that are able to return home tell the others that they will be hunted.
"I asked Jade the same thing, son. She said the lower on the system you were the harder life was for you in Zedwood. After her parents' romance and the merging of colonies, rules and punishments became stricter in other colonies. There was a vote placed and majority decided that they should open the realm to learn from us, sending collectors and some stayed. Building lives here-"
"With humans? They die and-"
"Fae do not age the same as humans but those that chose human mates used a serum created with a plant grown specifically in Zedwood that can stop aging. It will stop and keep you frozen at the age you are once administered. But in Zedwood that is not what it is used for. God their world is so much more advanced in some aspects," he says and I know that it is the scientist in him speaking.
"Do you have validation for this, these stories that she has told you?"
"Yes. Jade brought many plants, herbs, chemicals that aren't even on the periodic table Kaden. In the ten months she was here, her parents sent Parcels with those that were coming here, and she would deliver them to me. Explain their makeup, uses, everything to me. All things that would insure that Etta survived, and would be able to bring safety to others," he said and I was on information overload at the moment, how had he gone undetected for so long, why put his life or his family on the line.
"She is my family. I love that little girl. I promised Jade and her parents before her that I would care for her as if she were my own. Without Etta, without Jade even, David would be dead. Although Jade is not in this realm Kaden, she cares for her daughter, both of them, her son as well... I know her and I know that she aches for her children-"
"How would you know?" I snapped. I know that he was not at fault in this situation with Elizabetta but still... she left her child and two more.
"She may not be able to travel to our world Kaden, however when a new Fae comes to this realm they leave products. Letters from Jade to me, it's always a different person and place but-" he couldn't just drop half of the information on me and hold things back.
"What do you mean?" I asked him, I wanted details.
"Jade in ten months told me to purchase properties all over the world, so I did. Hundreds. I gave her the list of the properties and a phone number. She and I decided that when a new Fae comes here she'd send a parcel and send them to one of the empty places. They use a phone left there and call me. I send Damien or David to retried what was sent," my eyes were wide open, and my mind was totally blown. For so many reasons, but if anyone could keep a secret it would be John. Not only was he harboring those secrets he held and was actively always working on mine.
My thoughts were barely organized at the moment I- I just had questions that led to more and more questions.
"How long has this been going on? Why a different location every time? Why a different person?"
John sighed, "Since Etta was born, once a month or sometimes it's 4 or 5 months with no word. Different locations for my safety as well as theirs. It is a different person for many reasons. The portal that is used would just send them anywhere, sometimes a dark alley, abandoned buildings or the middle of a forest. By using the locations I've purchased under a shell company that I own they cannot be traced back to me," he said answering some of my questions.
"Zedwood, or well the portal that is used for Fairies to come to this realm has restrictions one that those on that side put in place and another that is strictly a side effect they have not been able to work out. Only true blooded Faes may return to Zedwood, they- the Royals voted and majority vote again, was that if a Fae has the option of returning, they can but not with any half breeds or humans or other supernatural creatures. You can come once and stay or return, but then you will not be able to make that journey again. Then the side effect is that if you travel in the portal more than twice it breaks down their body, meaning eventually their form will shut down systematically," he said explaining why they were able to come and go but not why any of them would stay.
I was biting my lip and locked my jaw to prevent the laugh that was dying to be released, John chuckled probably already catching on to what I thought was humorous.
I had sat out here getting information from John and glancing at my watch I could see that it was already inching closer to 2a.m.
"Look Kaden, point blank. The wolves here we protect Etta. We believe in protecting her, she has brought no harm to anyone, has only ever helped us when she could with asking for anything in return. Back to your initial question. Can she be your mate? Yes, I believe that she may very well be your mate. So treat her right," he warned me like a protective father, sighed then said, "It's late, are you sleeping here tonight," he asked, I just nodded.
My mind was running rapid and all my thoughts seemed to be fleeting as well as I climbed the stairs to my guestroom in Johns house.
.
.
.
I stared at the wall, the sun rising, heat starting ahead of daybreak, I thought of Elizabetta, wondering different things. How did she get her name? What was her favorite color? Did she have more than one? Movie? Music? Many questions, personal, telling and surprisingly I was angry that I had to endure hours to be with her again.
And before I can stop myself from thinking its most current thought, it's too late, it would be easy to love her. To fall, madly, deeply, crazy in love with her, beautiful smile, but a different kind of beauty that I'm sure ran bone deep, the kindness I could already see, that she has already bestowed upon me by inviting me into her home. Abet, she appears reckless for that same reason, I could've been anyone.
Surely though, with her importance, she needed more protection than nine loyal wolves? Maybe that is why she was calling out to me, to add to her protection, to make a tenth person stand with her. Although I'm not in any position to speak, I have less on my side and I have a larger family to boot.
But what did I really want? I didn't have to answer her call or come to her but I had, but I wanted to learn her, be more than her protector if I was being honest with myself. Etta made me happy, even that short time, I wasn't claiming to be experiencing love at first sight, or loving blindly, but I felt something, deep inside I felt like she was the last offering I would get. She made me forget, happy to be here, and it felt like she was my future. One that wasn't lonely and mundane, different. If I didn't believe that, or want it I wouldn't have made sure that no one could trace me here.
For better or worse, the most important factor was no one could trace me here, I was free from Lana. Even after everything, I didn't feel bad, or have an ounce of guilt for how I fled from home. It had stopped being home a long time ago; nothing would be the same I'm not sure how Lana thought it could be.
One of the things that gave me hope, that made it harder to write everything off, left me with a clear mind, was that when I touched Etta, I felt sparks. Not the type I felt when I touched Lana, this was different, but in many and all the right ways.
Leaving the guestroom after a shower I went downstairs with a new list of questions, ones John really didn't answer last night. Searching, I can tell a few people are home but only see John when I enter the kitchen.
"Why do Fae's come to the one place they are in danger?" I blurted out the second my foot was on the bottom step. But it really just made literally no sense. After a few chuckles, "Good morning John," he mocked trying to sound like me.
"Good morning to you to Kaden, how you sleep?"
"Slept well, you?" he said in an inaccurate, compared to my real voice mock.
"Great! Thank you for asking," he finished exasperated while I just stared blankly.
"I wanted to know... it doesn't make sense," I pointed out whilst pouring myself a cup of coffee.
"Some have no choice," he said resting his elbows on the counter between us.
"If you have more than one child you are forced to leave the realm. Children are created to keep the familial line going, while sustaining their realm," he replied. China I thought but not voicing that, instead, "What if you have twins? Surely you can't troll the number of children you have?" I pondered.
"No matter what colony you belong to, you can only have one child. If you are having multiplies, knowing it is frowned upon, some may try to have a childless family take in one child. If your child expires, then you may have another. If your child comes to this realm and doesn't plan on returning, you may be granted permission to have another. However if you have a child and then conceive and give birth you can do one of two things. First, again, give that child to be a slave for one of the leaders of other colonies. Those that choose that? There is a chance that your child will be used as entertainment by the other leaders, looked down upon. The second option is to come to this realm-"
"And be shunned?" I finished for him sarcastically.
"It's worse than that, if you break the law you can be forced to come to this realm, with nothing," not acknowledging my jab.
"What?" I asked incredulously... all that just to sustain their realm?
"They are shunned as well as banished, can only come to this realm with their clothes on their backs. No money, nothing, and if your family is caught helping you, they are made to leave as well."
"That's... that is... it's harsh," I spluttered. It's a cruel punishment; I wasn't sure which option was worse. Watch your child suffer or suffer together in this realm. If this happened a lot, that meant that there were many Faes here in this realm. My mind was racing, because I could think of millions of reasons why Etta would be important, however not why she was the most powerful if true blood Faes lived in this realm.
"What exactly makes Etta the strongest... I don't understand the genetics but, but she only smells like a Fae? I gather that there are more powerful individuals of her kind out there? Why did Jade go to such lengths to create her and not stay? If you can have another child, they could have replace Jade, why not do that?" I rambled on, "Is she even really safe here?" I groaned angrily, not sure why her safety bothered me so much, it shouldn't.
"There are five vampires also on this island," he said calmly, but I could feel my heartbeat increase, the sound erasing all others, even John. The panic settling in and my bones were beginning to pop. Oh... oh... she - she was guarded by vampires? Vampires... really?
John was near my instantly, voice attempting to calm me, "Kaden, you need to think of something else, don't ground it away, use it to bring you back here, to remain yourself," he tried to coach me, my shaking minimized slowly as I thought of my grandfather. Inhaling deeply, holding and then releasing breaths, the tint that clouded my vision was slowly dissipating, taking on natural colors.
Even then I was panting, resting my hand on my knees trying my best to remain calm. Although to anyone else it would appear that I had ran millions miles and couldn't catch my breath. I didn't like what was happening to me, it was blindsiding me.
"You feelin' right son?" John inquired his accent thickening, movement to my left pulled me from his presences, David stopping taking in the scene at the door.
"Yes," I answered facing John once again, "Go on... explain... vampires on the island..." monotone and not at all pleased. John knew my history better than anyone, "Kaden, sit down so we can answer all your questions, but you need to remain calm, no wigging out like you just did," David said walking toward a large 19 chaired kitchen table, I followed.
Yawning, David began, "I heard dad clearing things up, Tink is safe here Kaden. The five vampires that have been safeguarding her are loyal completely to Etta. Not to us really... with her blood they are able to live amongst humans, drinking the minimum amount of blood. They are completely humane; none have killed a single wolf, Fae or human. They work amongst humans, as a family they appear normal to outsiders. They were all changed against their will," he said sadly. Did he think I could - I could empathize with their story?
Sidestepping, "An actual family?" I asked surprised.
"John grunted, "Yes, Cedrick, his wife Kate and their three children."
"Children?" I gasped, appalled that anyone would turn a child, not only did they have no self-control; they were the hardest to disguise. I've heard all the stories, witnessed my fair share as well. Over the years I had learned much about different vampires, had my own dossier. A database which was steadfastly increasing.
John snorted rolling his eyes overdramatically; "Kaden my son is a drama queen, when he says children they are all over 16 years of age; Graham is 21 years old, Marco is 19 years old and Rascal-" I busted out laughing, "They named a child Rascal?" I snickered.
Shaking his head, "So immature," John mumbled under his breath, "Like I was saying, Rascal is 17 years old; they are very protective of Etta's family. They've only been with her for two years but according to them, it's the 'happiest' they've all been in many years," David finished.
Taking that in I could only wonder if I would be having the happiest moments in my life now that I had found Etta as well...
.
.
.
After I was genetically changed, I spent years collecting data, educating myself on what many believe are just myths, but I have proven to myself, and John are real.
First adding myself to the Dossier:
Mutatio Genetica (genetically modified) Lamia Lupus (vampire wolf) --- KADEN.
Not however adding my abilities as I had with other vampire kinds. However in my searches I have yet to meet any vampires that are protecting Fae's or many that work well with werewolves, and much less five that are doing both.
Doubtfully I ask again, "So these five vampires are guarding Etta?"
John nods casually, "With Etta's blood they enjoy this island to the fullest, day or night. The only person they feed on is Tink. Even then it's not as gritty; they drink animal blood as well and like you eat human food with no repercussions," David answers smirk in place.
"What am I missing?" I say when neither speaks again.
"Jade's parents, most powerful Fae's. In Zedwood, her father, the strongest Witch Fae and his father a witch and mother a potent healer. They had a true Fae match, luckily they were in the same colony, being truly matched made Elena and Pastel hated. They were strong and gave birth to Wyatt, Jades' father," okay this was a history lesson, but I nodded, "Jades mother, Marta, was in Regar and comes from a seer that could sense mischief, liar, anyone up to malice. Her father was a Fae Changeling but one of the best," John said smiling, and I was finally understanding where this was going.
"Marta and Wyatt, they were, are ... they are the two most prevailing... of the 16 leaders. Jade came here to create a leader for this Realm, Etta. According to her grandfather there will never be a stronger Fae that Elizabetta, not here and not in Zedwood. While the other leaders want living in this realm to serve as punishment for some Faes, those that do not break rules also suffer when they stay here. Jade wanted to help them, all of them. Even those shunned and banished here..."
"So Jade's the only Fae that has compassion and empathy?" I asked sarcasm dripping, "Plus won't any children, specifically Etta's siblings be just as strong? What about the child Jade has in Zedwood?"
"Atch and Regar merged, Jade will find her mate but Etta will always be the strongest in this realm, and if she were allowed back in Zedwood, she would be the strongest there as well-"
"According to Jade?" my face blank, eye brow arched, "she's the strongest but she has to be 'allowed' back into Zedwood?" surely John saw the fallacies in his information, I did.
"No according to her seer grandfather," John replied quickly, but he's never met the seer grandfather I'm sure.
"Her siblings?"
"As far as we can tell they can shift into wolves and one can distinguish the truth from lies, they aren't more powerful than her," he said surely, confidence in his words and eyes. A wave of determination, rolling not just from him but his son as well.
"Okay. Okay. She's safe. Guarded. Powerful," I say mostly to myself, but more than anything, it's sad as well, but she owns me. Already in such a small time frame, she has left her mark. No, I shake my head, it's too soon to say those things, but she does call to me metaphorically and literally. Still maybe these emotions... it's that I understand what it's like to be hunted. Yes. That is the truth, I was an older, wiser experienced man and maybe like the vampires here I wanted to protect Etta. I stood pacing, trying to mesh logical with feeling and come out from the other end with meaning. Instead I felt raw, unarmed and I didn't like it.
I digressed, stopped thankfully by John.
"This is different," he noted, confusing me, I lifted my brow waiting for an explanation. Knowing I didn't need to verbalize with him, he knew my mannerisms.
"You weren't like this with Lana..." Yes of course I wasn't, Lana broke my heart at a young age, and she crushed and killed what was meant to be cherished. But alas, I smile; I'm free of her now. However I know she will never be free of me. While Anor was dead, the part of me that remained wolf still was Lana's wolf mate. If I were intimate with another woman, Lana would forevermore feel that pain, that burn I felt as a young man. However, since I was altered as a young man genetically, I no longer felt Lana's many and I'm sure frequent betrayals. Were they even betrayals if I didn't care? No. I no longer felt her conquests.
John smiled, "Lana isn't Etta, and Etta is nothing like Lana, she's selfless, but don't take my word alone. Spend time with her. You will see her true self, for yourself," he said almost too cryptically, before walking away, David following right after.
.
.
.
As the day went by I thought about the direction my life had taken since arriving here, there was a whole other supernatural world, realm that existed. Granted I was an anomaly among other life forms that shouldn't exist, Etta had a parent from another realm. Between teaching as Reese Morgan and thinking, distractedly about Elizabetta when I finally returned to my island to prepare for my date I had a million questions again about this situation. With Etta I never wanted to pretend, to be Reese I wanted to show her the man that very few knew, hoping she would accept my quirks. And as for my many questions, I was hoping Etta would answer.
Some were personal in nature, some not so much. The common pleasure I kept in mind was that whatever was discussed I would once again after many hours, hear her voice. I wouldn't have to replay, and pause that beautiful sound in my head, I'd hear it live.
It was a new thing, experience to myself, her voice alone did wonderful things to me, wrapped and cocooned are the only two words I could use to describe what the conversation I had mere hours ago felt like. There was no judgment or expectations as far as I could sense and I liked the relief in knowing that.
Enveloped, sheltered... it felt intimate, both adult and child like to me. Adult in the way that her voice, eyes scent went straight to my dick. Childlike, in the way that it brought me back to when I was a young boy and my brothers and I would build forts out of blankets, or when we camped out in a tree house my grandfather built. When I didn't have history with the world human and supernatural both, and know the cruelties they held.
