Meet Nat (Might Continue Later, But Will Post For Now)
"If you have me a chance I would take it!" Natalie sang loudly. She looked in her mirror, using her IPod as a mic.
The song changed as she gasped happily. She was about to sing when she heard her name, not being called, but being discussed. "Come on Matt, Natalie really needs to know her family. Your sister has a house in Oregon, right? Doesn't she have a daughter?" Her mom said.
"Tyra, she doesn't need to be shipped to 'murica just to know she has family." Her dad said, making his thickest American accent possible.
"We're not shipping her, it will just be the summer." Her mom said. "It will be perfect, she gets to meet family, friends and she'll finally have somewhere to exert her hyperactiveness."
By now, Natalie was sitting her room, listening to the song 'Self Esteem' end, face huddled into her knees. She didn't want to leave Canada, let alone home. She hardly liked being outside!
Her eyebrows furrowed angrily as she pondered why. She got into her pajamas and left her room, passing her parents unnoticeably, going into the washroom. She brushed her teeth and went to bed. She didn't want to leave! Maybe dad could win an argument this once... hopefully.
Nope.
Natalie woke up to her dad, rubbing her back. "Dad?"
"Yes Natty?" He replied.
"I heard you and mom talking last night, am I being shipped off to Oregon?"
"Not shipped, you'll be living with your cousin. Just for the summer, it will be fun!"
"Ugh, I don't want to leave though. Pleeaaase daddy?"
"Natty, we already organized everything." Her dad whined. "Plus, you don't have a choice."
"Ugh, you guys suck." Natalie scowled.
"Get your things packed, tomorrow after school we're due to leave for Calgary where Aunt Abby will pick you up. It's at least a full day trip, so... we won't be taking making many stops."
"Aren't we leaving later in the day? What about sleep?" Natalie asked.
"We'll find a cheap hotel or something. Get your things ready."
"It's only Wednesday. I don't think I should be skipping school."
"I'll call you in, it will be fine."
The moment Natalie was dropped off in Gravity Falls, she knew how much she was going to hate it.
She dragged her sky blue suitcase to the address that she marked on her notepad. It was a small white house with a red roof. She knocked on the door.
"Who's there?" A voice asked.
"It's Natalie! Try not to give a bad impression." A female voice said.
A Latina woman opened the door. "Hello Natalie, uh- your room will be with Clover." She led Nat to her and Clover's room.
"Thanks uh- aunt, I'll unpack." Natalie said, opening up the door.
"Call me Tia." Her aunt said.
"Ok, Tia..." Natalie went in her room.
There was a girl, similar to her mother who had green streaks in her hair who was smothering something on her face.
"Uhhh... Clover? I'm your cousin... from -uh Canada." Natalie said.
Clover screamed in surprise and turned to Natalie. "H-h-i... I uh... didn't notice you there... heh..." She put something behind her back.
"What's that you got there?" Natalie asked.
"Uh... nothing!" Clover said, blushing.
"If we're going to be roommates you have to tell me, coz I'll find out either way." Natalie smirked.
Tears welled up in Clover's eyes. "I'm sorry..."
"And I thought I was Canadian." Natalie rolled her eyes. "Just show me, it can't be bad."
Clover handed a picture to Natalie face down as she put her head in her lap.
Nat picked up the photo and turned it face side up. "Awww you got a crush!" Natalie looked at the picture of the brown haired kid. "This pic looks stalky, have you talked to him yet?"
"No..." Clover mumbled.
"Then let's go, I assume you know where he lives... it will be our first activity together! Talking to the boy my cousin stalks." Natalie said ecstatically.
"I... I can't... I've already tried! He's just so nerdy and adorable!" Clover whined.
Oh, she's a whiner... greaaat.... "So you like nerds? Ok, how about first I get to know you better, then tomorrow we'll talk to this dork. Sound good?"
Clover nodded silently. That night they mostly talked... Well, Natalie talked, Clover mostly listened.
"Then... BOOM! The can blew up all over his face! It was hilarious! Except Mary didn't let me add chili... You got any good stories?"
