____________
Dr. Y/N L/N was never a soft individual. Being the product of a forbidden love between a scientist and SCP 049, he constantly had the Foundation breathing down his back as soon as he could remember. Although it was concluded that he didn't have any anomalous properties or traits from the moment he was born, he still had a careful eye on him at all times. He hated it. His adoptive parents were Foundation scientists as well, and they had never treated quite like a human. Granted, they never abused him, physically and verbally at least, they took care of him, but they were always so cold and distant from him. Daily interrogations and check ups were expected day in and day out. They barely let him out in the open besides from school and if he was lucky, any extra circulars that he was allowed to go to.
It was common for them to call him an "it" right in front of his face and do minor experiments with him, just to make sure he didn't have anything out of the usual. All of this was topped off with the expectation of being normal, dull, boring. To make him obedient and to keep him in line. Anything that he wanted to do that seemed even slightly out of place with their standards? Reprimanded and punished. He wanted to go outside and play a game not already pre- approved by his parents? That meant being locked in his room for days, weeks, even months if it was during the summer. His parents would occasionally come in to give him food and water, but that was it.
When he graduated high school almost immediately he was pressured by his parents to get a degree to be able work at the foundation,and although it only took a couple of years, it still drained all the spark out of what was supposed to be your "best years as a young adult". Now he was a lower ranking scientist, which he was certain it was only because it allowed the foundation to keep a close eye on him. All of this pent up resentment and anger was getting ready to burst, and it had all was released on the individuals that he could actively blame
His birth parents.
He hated 049, he hated his mother, even though she had been terminated shortly after he had been born. It was just so easy to shift the blame onto someone else, anyone else for the hell he had to go through. He may had been untouched on the outside, but his mental state was f*cked. Having someone to blame made it easier to take that negative emotion from himself and put it into the one thing that he had power over. Even if that thing was his own father.
Whenever he had to work with 049, he would do everything possible to make 049's day hell. Extra precautions to prevent him from doing a certain thing? Done. He's been writing down in that journal for a bit longer than expected? It would be best to take it away for thorough investigation. 049 knew that it was Dr. L/N that was causing this, and he tried to talk to him. He tried to reason with him. It never worked. Most of the time Y/N wouldn't even talk to him, however, this one day was different.
"Was she easy?" Y/N snarled. 049 looked up at his son, a puzzled look on his face.
"I'm sorry, I do not follow." He said. Y/N scoffed at the SCP. How could he not know what he was talking about?
"My sl*t of a mother? She was just easy for you, wasn't she? You saw her as a piece of a$$ that could let you out of this cell of yours, did you not? Did she do this with every SCP she worked with? Let me guess, she had a body count the size of Mt. Everest. " Y/N accused, he was seething at the thought of his mother. Maybe if she wasn't screwing around with a creature and was instead at least screwing a human, he wouldn't had have such a miserable life. Yeah. It was their fault! Or at least that's what Y/N told himself.
049 wasn't mad like Y/N wanted him to be, instead, he just looked... Sympathetic.. Like he could see through him.
"My son, I'm sorry about what you must've gone through to get like this. I know somewhere within you, you're smart enough to know what you are doing is wrong. I just wonder what would your mother would say.. To see her child being raised by controlling doctors, to watch the light being ripped from you... To see how you've brain washed yourself into believing such disgusting things about her. I can only imagine how many tears she has wept already.."
Y/N was quiet for a second, before a nasty sneer came across his face.
"You don't know sh!t about me! YOU CAUSED THIS! YOU ARE THE REASON WHY MY LIFE IS HELL! I swear to god, I'll end you! I'll make my way up the ranks, make it up to the top, and when I do, I'll see to your own termination. It wouldn't be hard, I could easily convince the 05 that it's too risky to let you live. If not, then I'll do it myself. I hate you. And I'm not your son." And with that Y/N stormed out of the containment room, leaving 049 alone once again..
Unknown to the two of them, however, another SCP had been listening in. 106 let out a deep chuckle as he pulled himself back to his pocket dimension from the ceiling. The old man had been stalking Y/N for a long time now. He had made sure nobody knew that he had broken containment, he positioned his portals in places and angles where they won't be discovered for a while. When he had first began stalking Y/N, he just saw him as easy prey, but the longer he continued, the more he was invested into it. The constant misery and anger he held and passed around to anyone around him interested 106. He started to become obsessed. Now he didn't want to just torture him for a couple days and then kill him, no, not after what he's seen. Y/N would do much better being his little pet. And 106 would always get what he wants.
~~~~~~~~
The loud sounds of the alarms going on quickly got Y/N up from his nap at his desk. A mass containment breach was underway and Y/N had no clue where he was supposed to go. Not wanting to risk going outside, he barricaded his office with his desk and sat in the corner of the room, trying to tune out the screams and other horrific noises coming from the outside. He was so busy tuning them out, in fact,that he didn't notice the black hole forming into the wall behind him before a hand grabbed Y/N by the lab coat and pulled him in.
049 was roaming around the site hallways with a horde of his recently cured patients when he heard a familiar scream coming from a room. Oh no.. He quickly ran towards the door only to find the door wouldn't budge. He began trying to bang down the door. He didn't care what Y/N had said earlier, all he cared about was getting to him. Finally whatever had been blocking the door gave way and 049 violent swung open the door. It only took him to see the giant black hole to understand what had happened. Now, this would've been the time where most would've given up. But 049 wasn't most people. Without hesitation he crawled inside the hole, running around the black hallways of the pocket dimension, desperate to find his son.
A scream quickly alerted him to Y/N's location. Y/N was on the ground, crawling away from 106, who was standing above him with a sadistic smile on his face. 049 held up his doctor's stick (which he had gotten back after curing the scientist who took it) and ran up to 106, smacking the old man in the back of the head with an audible "SMACK"
"RUN! Y/N! RUN!" 049 yelled. 106 turned to look at 049, who stood his ground, despite his only weapon being a stick which was already decomposing to give Y/N a chance at escape..
"You've made a terrible choice, coming here.. Now you both won't get out alive.." 106 as he began shifting the pocket dimension to his image..
~~~~~~
Y/N had noticed the pocket dimension begin to wrap and bend. He looked behind him, to see the hallway behind him beginning to fall apart, revealing the battle ground of WW 1. The smell of disease and death was strong and the sound of gunshots, yelling, and explosions were enough to send Y/N running with all of his might. He knew if he didn't make it now, he never would. He ran and ran, making twists and turns, dodging giant axes swinging at him. His prayers were answered for salvation when he was a bright light in front of him.. An exit.. With the last bits of energy he had, he launched himself out of the pocket dimension and back into his office as the hole behind him closed.
Y/N laid there in the floor, dizzy, exhausted, and left processing everything. He stayed like that for what seemed like hours until a mobile task force team finally made their way into his office, picking him off the floor.
When everything was said and done, every single SCP was re -contained. Well, except one..
After Y/N gave his account of what had happened, it was determined that 049 was permanently a lost cause. More than likely the doctor was dead, just rotting away in the disgusting trenches of the war long past. When Y/N heard the news. He broke down into a crying, screaming mess. The one person who loved him, that cared for him, that sacrificed everything for him, was dead. And the worst part was that he never got to say he was sorry. He never got another conversation, another chance. He was too concerned over something that had nothing to do with his mother or 049 that he never took those many chances to know his father.. All this time, he thought 049 was the one who ruined his life. But now he saw that it may have not been 049 who had ruined his early years, but it would be himself who ruined the rest of them.
